  1. Tom may get the chance to show what he can do in this year's GP as he is first reserve for the meeting.
  2. Once the decision was made to restage the meeting the rule book is quite clear on procedure. Don't forget that once the meeting is abandoned no further track action is permitted so a race-off on the night wasn't an option.
  3. My suggestion is to abandon the meeting tonight, with Brennan and Harris to race-off at Cardiff at the Friday practice.
  4. Brennan's average is fractionally higher - 6.621 compared to Ulrich's 6.615.
  5. You’re misunderstanding the (admittedly badly written) rule. If two riders have the same MA the BSPL office will check both averages to three or more decimal places to see if the equality can be “determined”, that is to see if one MA is fractionally higher than the other. If the two are truly identical then the rest of the rule comes into play.
  6. They are - to differentiate between two riders with the same average to two decimal places. See below SR010.3 TEAM DECLARATIONS Teams must be declared prior to the start of the season. Changes must be made at least 3 days before the start time of the meeting at which it is intended to be used. In any declaration where 2 or more riders hold an identical MA (cannot be determined by a 3rd or more decimal point) then the re-declaration must nominate the hierarchical order. Where riders have a previous MA, then the higher placed rider from the previous issue shall retain the higher position. A rider in a teams declared 1-7 at the end of the previous season, not included in that teams new seasons initial declaration, may not be subsequently re-introduced into that team without the express permission of the Directors.
  7. Are the two averages identical, or can they be split by calculating to more decimal places?
  8. It’s all in the rule book. I’m out at the moment but IIRC a guest can be used for 1,2,3,6 and 7. For 4 &5 - one out is usually RR, both out RR & Guest, but if they’re representing their FMN a guest can be used - so 7 guests is possible.
  9. It is possible to have seven guests! Would be an unlikely set of circumstances though ….
  10. PLAY-OFF PICTURE - HOW IT WORKS – The quarter-finals will consist of the 3rd v 6th placed team and 4th v 5th placed team, the top two teams will go direct to the semi-final. – The team who finishes top will have the pick of the quarter-final winners in the semi-finals. – All ties are over two legs, and any aggregate ties will be resolved by the Golden Heats format.
  11. 2022 Speedway Regulations: 011.1.8 Faulty Starting Gate If, because of faulty operation of the starting gate, or for any other reason, the Referee considers a start to have been incorrect, they must immediately stop the heat and order a re-start with all riders competing. If the starting gate should fail to operate entirely, the Referee may start the heats by using the green light. The green light will be switched on to indicate ‘under starters orders’ and switched off to indicate the ‘start’. Alternatively, the green/National flag may be used.
  12. Clouting was named as an 'old-style' No 8 because the team is using rider replacement. That's a different position to an RS No 8.
  13. In certain circumstances guests could be used for all seven team members at the same time….
  14. There are superb disabled facilities in the main grandstand at Belle Vue
  15. Have you considered that the football club may have access to fixed-line and internet, not available to the speedway club?
  16. For tomorrow's meeting Josh Pickering should be at No 1 for Kings Lynn
  17. The declared No 8 can be used as a traditional No 8 if RR is being operated, or be used in place of the other rising star on a match by match basis. He cannot be used on an ad-hoc basis during the meeting as a third reserve.
  18. An injured rider may re-take their position, dictated by their MA (with their replacement being released) regardless of average.
  19. SR 012.4.4 a) is permitted on only one occasion in heat 5 – 14, excluding heat 8, when a team is 6 or more points in arrears The rule is applicable to both PL & CL
  20. Correct RR is the only facility for a missing No 5 in the averages (if the sole absentee). Wright, the reserves and the No 8 to cover the rides.
  21. My comment was meant as a joke. Anyway, I did a better job at Coventry ( and Peterborough x3, and Mildenhall) than you did in your promoting career…..
