The only way I could see it working based on Wood's comments is if the BSPL needed another PL track then a Northampton type arrangement might work if the likes of Busty are involved. Of course at this moment the BSPL don't need another PL track but who knows who may or may not run next season....

These independent people don't exist and if they did they'd want paying and that's where the idea would hit the blocks

Rent upfront for a season is likely to be not insignificant plus infrastructure costs as you've mentioned plus the knowledge that your pretty certain to lose money once the turnstiles open... they won't be queueing up to take this on I suspect

Northampton only happened because Buster was involved and they have a level of trust It would depend who the prospective promoters of Eastie would be but they'd have to come up with the money and put the money up.front. I'd imagine as well as the viewing figures anything going forward will depend on how the production costs are going to be paid. I doubt we will find out but it would be interesting to know who paid Saturdays costs

Redcar match now 3pm instead of 6 so no good for me as AFC Workington v Leek kicks off at 3pm. I told a few people that you could do a football/speedway double header as well.... Luckily I hadn't booked my hotel as the club hadn't replied to my message about the start time... Just shows you can't rely on a published fixture list these days when travelling any distance Maybe next season..

Alternatively the sport as a whole looks at resolutions that would stop clubs losing serious money every season, perhaps this is what Coleman was getting at as in an 8 team premiership with everyone else in a watered down championship with reduced costs Something needs to change regardless

Absolutely, let's hope it's not true or can be avoided but with the closure of the Comets at Derwent previously it seems there isnt enough support for speedway up there

I now have no local track This season I've been to 2 Northampton meetings (3 hour round trip) with a further one planned plus 1 visit to Ipswich (2 and a half hour round trip) That's my lot and will probably remain so each season under this format
