  1. Is there seriously anyone out there that would pay a penny piece for a speedway club?
  2. I don't understand the comment about why he can't have the operation done privately. That would be available to suit surely?
  3. I went the first season it was operating. It was a bit of a walk from Purfleet? station as I recall
  4. As far as i read it: They made a new application which involved moving the stadium on to the site of the existing car park. This was abandoned and they then made an application to vary the existing permission by shortening the track and erecting new buildings etc.
  5. They can mark out the track but as far as I'm aware they don't have planning permission yet
  6. Not exactly crime of the century though. Not sure given everything that's wrong with speedway why this is even an offence. Give a set of helmet covers to the start Marshall in case a late change is needed. Concentrate on 4 blokes racing not some stupid technicality
  7. The application does not include a speedway track but does include a velodrome. Interesting to see how the Council reacts.
  8. Probably take at least a year to get planning. I can't see the speedway being the sole tenant. The cost of running the stadium would need to be born by whoever was running it. Add those to the speedway rent and that's a guaranteed loss maker. You'd need a stock car operator definetly on board
  9. If you stopped replying he'd soon get bored surely you can see that?
  10. But the Star must either know or want to know surely?
  11. Plus Cardiff isn't quite as nice on a bluebirds match day in my experience
  12. Nobody got the attendance figure? Doesn't Mr Rising normally tell us?
  13. With the lower crowds now you should be able to get on the car park if you are there by 7
  14. Any suggestion that involves payment being made to "an independent body" a marketing expert or market research company is a non starter. There's no money to pay them. This week's speedway star had a suggestion that an expert in sports marketing and pr who has held some of the most senior positions in sport and is a speedway fan should be asked "to join the quartet tasked with recommending where the sport goes in the future" I wonder if he were so minded that the BSPA would be offering a consultancy fee commensurate with his ability and experience?
  15. Thanks if a Friday night confirmed track runs fixtures that are in the official fixture list on a Friday how can there be an objection..I don't get it
  16. Totally agree with you regarding the fixture list. The SS article doesn't say however that it was accepted on that basis. I'm just intrigued by this to be honest, I can see now for example (without knowing the protocol for tracks running on their reserve night) but let's say that a track with an alternative race nights were running mainly on a Friday and the senior Friday tracks weren't happy about it for some reason. If however a track with confirmed Friday race night stage fixtures on a Friday night that are in the official fixture list then how can anyone have an issue with that? I'm confused!
