  1. Lioness would like that. She'd be on the front row.
  2. And another one whose name I can't remember who became more famous for having himself filmed on the toilet. James somebody was it? Money well spent there.
  3. When the forum first started in 2001 one of it's titles was FAST - Forum Assistance for Speedway Training (I think!) I'm sure one of the older members will correct me if I'm wrong. Some of us donated a small sum of money each month (I think...... again!) towards helping young riders just starting out. As my memory is awful the only one I can remember is Ben Wilson but I'm sure there are others who will be able to reel all the names off. Personally these days I wouldn't donate as I prefer to give money to abused dogs as I think they are more needy.
  4. Oh yes. Tuna/Mayo bagette, piece of cake and cup of coffee at Kings Lock Cafe then a walk along the canal with the dogs. I know how to live.
  5. Same birthdate as me, although I'm somewhat older. Happy 60th Larry.
  6. It's very hard to get answers to any questions raised about Leicester. It would be interesting to know why the speedway was only allowed a small area when there was loads of land available also why the car park is only able to hold around 235 cars which is a ridiculously small amount.
  7. Makes me wonder if everything had to be squeezed into a certain amount of space or if more land was available because there is loads there - all doing nothing at the moment.
  8. That's perhaps where they got the idea from then. I think Neil goes to Ice Hockey matches. Don't see why not as it's no different to sitting on a chair on the terraces so I guess that would make me a 'real arse.' Once we've given the dogs a run around on the grass before the meeting and they've setted down on their blankets under the seats I'm not getting up again. Perhaps it's just as well since Peterborough have dropped down from the E.L. that I've not been to the Showground as I would be a complete embarrassment to those around me.
  9. Perhaps in case a rider flips at the start? I can remember one at Leicester who broke his back but at the moment due to a complete memory loss I can't think who it was. I always used to know so I must be cracking up faster than I thought.
  10. Oh goody. Does that mean now Chris is back that it's going to be jazzed up a bit? Won't make any difference to me though because I'm still not standing up as it makes the dog wake up and she thinks we're going home if I do that.
  11. Peterborough fans can't be moaning enough because we managed to get rid of it at Coventry. Come on - surely there are some fans who are capable of a good whinge.
  12. Good idea. I'm willing to donate the same amount that I gave to Bomber's 'Go Fund My 2014 G.P. Expenses.' Just let me know when it's set up.
  13. Oh great! I hope it chucks it down all day and everywhere is knee deep in mud.
  14. Sounds a good idea but what about gate positions? Even when it's just one rider starting from 15 mtrs back he has to have the outside gate so confusion could reign.
  15. I wasn't really in any hurry to watch it as I don't really find racing from other countries that interesting so I missed the first few races but must admit I enjoyed it and the track looked great. What impressed me the most were lots of fans sitting on fold up chairs, complete with sandwiches and flasks and not just older people either. SCB would have a field day with this lot. No blankets over knees though as it looked to be a lovely evening.
  16. Around 118 miles between the two stadiums and roughly two hours travelling time. I suppose he could do it if there are no hold ups at Scunthorpe.
  17. Surely he will be riding for Coventry? Damn! Just beaten to it by a second.
  18. Yes I did. If he went on Britain's Got Talent these days David Walliams would probably put him through to the final.
  19. Glad you enjoyed the book. As to the music the Hunters marched out to I hope you realize I won't sleep tonight now trying to remember what it was. I thought it had always been 'Imperial Echoes' but you've got me thinking now. If I find out I'll let you know.
  20. Thanks Neil. I haven't got a mobile phone as the one I was given second hand by my son-in-law about 10 years ago was suddenly cut off last week. How very dare they? All I had to do was make sure £10 was put on once a year and it's been working fine all this time. I'd still got about £8 on it too so it looks like I've lost that. Cheeky blighters!
