  1. Put me down for agreeing with that. Watching top riders is not my priority as I am a fan of Speedway itself rather than wanting to see the likes of Greg Hancock, Nicki Pedersen etc. I don't need them to enjoy it. In fact some of the best races I saw last season were at the NL Storm matches.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10154565237387785&set=a.10150784554067785.494859.550797784&type=3&th As it's been such a horrible day ~ yes it's raining again here in Leicester weatherwatcher ~ I've been sorting through a cupboard of Speedway things to see what to keep and what I can throw away. Came across this photo of the track when it was being built in 2011. So what happened as it looks massive? Where did it all go wrong?
  3. So you are saying the attendances at Swindon on a Thursday night are still the same as they were on a Saturday?
  4. You never fail to cheer me up when I look at the forum each day. Such a little ray of sunshine. I think we've got the message now ~ you're cheesed off with Speedway at Leicester and would prefer to go to Darly instead. Okay fair enough. I'm off now to see if there are any more cheerful posts on this cold rainy day before I fall into a deeper depression.
  5. Yes the title will be Poole's for the 4th year running. How depressing and boring is that, unless you are a Pirates fan of course.
  6. True and you are even welcome on the Coventry Bees one with your views.
  7. Yes, it might get some criticism about various things but Brandon is still one of the better stadiums in the UK.
  8. Sounds like you have experience of these chairs Packerman. Probably my next buy in the future now I've got my mobility scooter.
  9. How about forward, reverse, forward, reverse? Or am I being stupid. (Don't answer that one.)
  10. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150351743332785&set=a.212043107784.161691.550797784&type=3&theater We spent about 15 minutes arguing with him because we had booked 2 nights in the Travel Lodge especially to watch the Swindon v Coventry match but in the end we got escorted out. Unfortunately for him he didn't take us right to the gate and Ray made a wrong turning after he'd gone and we ended up somewhere at the back of the stadium with a load of vans. Result ~ we saw the match and the dogs had a good sleep. No harm done. Well, apart from Coventry losing I suppose ~ I can't remember but they probably did. Can't have been as bad as the match after one of the Cardiff G.P's though as that sticks in my memory as one of the Bees worst ever performances.
  11. Will anyone be going? The latest photo looks very concerning. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10205759432248782&set=gm.10153940473368829&type=3&theater
  12. I don't know why they changed their minds either. We knew dogs weren't allowed in the stadium but as they were shattered from running around all afternoon they would be quite happy to go to sleep in the car, which they've done many times before. We paid the fee and the 2 stewards made a fuss of them, but then got stopped at the next Fort Knox base and told we weren't allowed to park the car with them in but could go to a lay by up the road. No way were we going to leave them somewhere out of sight. Anyway all irrelevant now because how things are these days with dogs being stolen I'd never leave them in a car with the windows open even though the alarm would be on.
  13. More specifically perhaps donate any spare cash to the development of a new stadium for Coventry.......probably Swindon too. Personally any spare money I have always goes to abused dogs and I have never given any to Darcy Ward either, but each to their own.
  14. Unfortunately that's not true. Dogs aren't even allowed to be in the car park now let alone enter the stadium. Used to love our trips to Swindon, staying in a Travel Lodge for a couple of days. Cotswolds Wildlife Park on Wednesday , up to the top of the Uffington White Horse on Thursday to wear the dogs out before Speedway. No more.
  15. I've always liked Seb Ulamek and I'd be happy to see him riding for Coventry. I reckon he's going to be a good signing for the Lions.
  16. Perhaps there is hope after all then? A Garden Centre eventually gets planning permission for a.....Garden Centre. A Motor Sports Stadium continues as a Motor Sports Stadium? Well, I can live in hope.
  17. Perhaps he's a bit more fussy what he bothers to write about.
  18. He's not been on here very long and probably hasn't got a very high post total yet because let's face it what is there to comment about on Leicester at the moment anyway. Definitely not Robert72 ~ there's only one of him thank goodness.
  19. Would be nice if it was true but I doubt it.
  20. Obviously Coventry must have used the 'Birds and Bees' method of choosing years ago and opted for the insect. I wonder why they came up with the Bees?
  21. Is it definite that Rory hasn't been out on a bike yet? Just wondering if he could perhaps have already had a spin round Coventry's track being as he doesn't live far away?
  22. Me neither. I gave up on Sky Sports a couple of years ago but was able to watch Eurosport last year as I have Virgin Media. I'm not interested in any other sport so that's it now ~ the only Speedway I'll see will be live at Coventry, Peterborough or Leicester. Suits me as it's never the same watching on T.V.
  23. Yes, I would imagine Jason Doyle wouldn't be too keen. Who says they want to? It was only an idea put forward by DH himself I believe. And where has it been officially said that Coventry would object to Leicester riding on Friday's? All I've ever seen is supposition on here which means nothing. Personally I think it would be a bad idea for them to both ride on the same night as quite a lot of fans go to Coventry as well as Leicester so their support would be lost.
