  1. I've no idea what difference it would make as I'm not SCB who understands all these things, but I wouldn't have thought it was worth trying to drop averages in just one match anyway. Surely it would be that small it wouldn't be worth doing. All the Storm riders did well, as did guest Liam Carr, so it's good to end the season on a positive note. Of the others Danny Ayres and Ben Hopwood stood out, also Wilson-Dean looked very impressive once he'd got the hang of the track after his first race and as someone has already said Daniel Spiller looked good and came from 15 metres back to lead heat 7 before having to retire. I couldn't understand why Georgie Wood was used as a tactical in heat 8 when he hadn't scored from his previous two rides. Surely Ben Hopwood with two second places would have been a better option in heat 9, but what do I know? It probably wouldn't have made much difference anyway.
  2. They would have had a real chance with the team they had if Garrity and Kylmakorpi hadn't been injured.
  3. Pity I didn't see you before Rob as I could have let you have one of my printed ones. I suppose the promotion have cut back on the number of programmes they produce as a lot of fans are making their own - shame on them. It wasn't a huge crowd no but certainly more than are usually there so hopefully this will encourage the promoters to continue next season. I hope so because I've enjoyed watching the Storm and seeing the young riders progress. I really enjoyed the two matches today but thought Eastbourne had some bad luck....until I bumped into you of course and you explained what was going on. Hope Tom Bacon is okay.
  4. This really annoys me. Number two on my short list of things that irritate me about Speedway - the first being unnecessary delays. Worse still if we're left standing around not knowing what's going on. Doing this would never make me buy a programme and just makes me more determined not to so it doesn't work! I'll do what I always do if I can't find out the correct order (like you have said P T Preece) print a blank programme and fill it in when I get there. Hope Dave Watters is the referee and there is a good crowd to see off season 2015.
  5. Or bloody Kasprzak! Can't believe someone has suggested him after how he messed us around. Nor Bjerre/ Watt / Batchelor or I might be tempted to support the team up the road instead.
  6. Easy answer if you believe in astrology - he's a Gemini, young at heart.
  7. Yes I agree and congratulations to Poole on becoming 2016 E.L. Champions.
  8. Quite happy to do that and now I've read your post I understand a bit more why you feel the way you do about him, although I didn't realize there was a 'Dave before drugs' as I thought he'd been a user for years and bragged about it on here. Like you say though no one is all bad (well not many anyway) and he no doubt had some good points.
  9. It's a long old Winter so hopefully there will be a good attendance for the last meeting in the UK this season. I don't know anything about Daniel Spiller but I agree with Alex that he should be riding if he's available. Rider replacement is a pain in the neck if it means a delay between races.
  10. I wonder if you used to read his late night, presumably drugged up/drunken rants that were always removed by a mod before we got up in the morning (yes we had mods back then who did a good job.) I really can't understand how anyone could miss him or his posts. Big Fat Dave was a drug dealer who eventually got caught and ended up in prison. He died a couple of years ago. Steve Shovlar is an avid Poole fan whose only interest on here is to wind everyone up. Shame he's come back after the season has finished as I'm a bit worried he'll have no ammunition but we'll see. Edited to correct the spelling of Shovler......it's been so long I've forgotten.
  11. I've always been surprised about your support for him, especially given the profession you're in, but each to their own. Couldn't stand him myself. Horrible man....and yes I have met him to form an opinion besides how he used to post on here. Ended up in prison and it's just a shame he wasn't caught earlier. Sometimes Karma does work.
  12. I'm not really bothered who is in the 2016 team as long as it doesn't contain Davey Watt, Troy Batchelor or Kasprzak. Thank you. I've no idea what all these new gradings are on about so I'll just wait until March and see what happens without bothering my brain cells in the meantime.
  13. Bloody hell it's Steve Shovlar. There are some new folk on here that will not get your style of posting so stand by for blasting.
  14. So it's October and the season has barely finished but you already know that Swindon will have a better team than Coventry next year. Gawd we do have some miserable fans but not many thank goodness. Perhaps you'll cheer up a bit in 2017 when the track has gone.
  15. Gawd you've got a strange taste in riders you'd like in the team. No likey....or Davey Watt and Troy Batchelor.
  16. Hans Andersen is available if you're interested.
  17. Presumably it's a majority vote that gets passed so it would be interesting to know exactly which teams (if any) voted against it. We'll never find out of course.
  18. I must be in a minority but I couldn't care less who is missing next season as I'd just prefer to see riders who actually want to ride in the UK. If that means a weaker league then so be it.
  19. Thanks for your kind words but I was talking in general not just about Coventry.
  20. Yes, they do but when riders are found they often have attached to them a very strange average that never applies if they are Poole bound.
  21. Get in touch and I'm sure they will post another copy to you.
  22. I don't think the 2013 one did it any favours. (My memory is not too good but I think that's the correct year, or it could have been 2012.) Did anyone get out of the place before midnight? Well, I managed it in the end after driving round the car park for 10 minutes trying to find an exit that wasn't blocked by cars. I finally had enough when Chris Harris crashed in the semi-final, but individual meetings have never really interested me anyway as I much prefer a league match.
  23. I thought he'd had his arm chopped off for a moment. Looking again you can just see his fingers round Dak's waist. https://instagram.com/p/8rVZhTI4UW/
