I disagree, if Hume missed a match & Beebee had to ride could cost Ipswich badly! He's only a NL second string & there's far stronger options out there!

Let's say an unattached rider is likely to get a 3.5 ave, then after riding a 4th match, he'll no longer be able to guest for an injured 3.00 rider (or replace them) so may have to sit out the rest of the season, while a 2.75 rider can continue to guest! Wouldn't affect someone like Jody Scott so much as I'm sure half the clubs in the league would sign him up before his average shoots up!

There is a big difference between racing at number 6 compared to number 7. If every Champ side had to put their weakest rider at 7 (like Prem teams have to) then he'd at least get another heat against the opposition number 7. Signing a 2.00 rider at number 6, like Coles, means the most you can expect from them is 1 or 2 points imo
