  1. Once you add his last match of 2018 on, his average is 5.51 again
  2. Pleased with the signing of Pijper. Keeps Etheridge at reserve to start with, so they'll always have a strong reserve - even if Theo drops down. Just need to find a 3rd heat leader now, Josh Auty?
  3. Of course it's possible to do this, wouldn't call it simple though. But if fans can work out the averages, what's the benefit of not publishing them? I've also not read anything official that states if the Eastbourne matches are removed for final averages.
  4. Knowing the averages allows fans to make educated guesses on who will be in teams, not knowing the averages makes it less fun as you don't know if your "dream team" is legal!
  5. Bacon had ridden 3 seasons so shouldn't have qualified as a RS. I believe he was allowed in as they weren't full seasons due to injury! I personally feel he should've been a RS as before he retired I'd say he had more potential than say (no offence lads) Danny Phillips, Tom Woolley, Ryan T Daley etc.
  6. I don't see how they can wait till 7th Dec to agree on averages & some teams will be complete by then
  7. The RS could only have remained in the Champ if the gradings were changed, as most of last year's 1/2/3* riders are now 4* riders!
  8. Ranking who I think are the top "rising stars" 1-6: Tom Brennan, Connor Mountain, Leon Flint, James Shanes, Jordan Palin, Alfie Bowtell 7-12: Dan Thompson, Drew Kemp, Anders Rowe, Jack Thomas, Connor Bailey, Dan Gilkes. Enough talent for 2 x "rising stars" in Prem teams?
  9. They needed to do it at least a week ago tbh!
  10. 1) is there a shortage of reserve riders currently, I wasn't aware of this? 2) regardless no rider would choose to share a spot with one team if another offered them a full time berth!
  11. If it's based on the 1st Jan, Alfie Bowtell is still a rising star!
  12. I believe Plymouth now have 8.58 or 7.81 remaining for the final rider (depending if Eastbourne's matches are removed from rolling aves) Ryan Douglas would be my choice!
  13. Years ago riders could share a team berth, rule may have been dropped - but hasn't been announced! It's the same with doubling up, used to be 2 riders sharing a spot, then one rider only needed, but never announced 2 riders COULDN'T still share the team spot. I'm sure both Mulford & Ablitt would prefer a full season of Champ racing, but if no one else came in for them, may settle for half the matches?
  14. The rules seemed to be based around Josh Bates fitting in: Under 25, or less than 3 seasons experience Prem ave below 5.50 (Bates was 5.20) Champ ave below 6.50 (Bates was 6.35) Riders like Luke Crang, Greg Blair & Tom Bacon qualified to due experience not age. Bates, Hume & Bowtell all turn 25 before next season starts. Of course the rules could've been changed without telling the fans?
  15. I'm sure Danyon Hume is too old to be a rising star in 2022
  16. Perhaps Mulford & Ablitt could both race in the NDL team & share a team spot in the Champ?
  17. But that doesn't explain why Leon Flint & Jordan Palin carried on scoring well after moving into the top 5! Their form suggest the jump up from reserve isn't so hard?
  18. If Birmingham have to race 20 meetings to make the rent pay, perhaps they could go though in every round of the KOC regardless of score & get a place in the play-offs regardless of league position? Wouldn't be the worst rule made in Speedway lol
  19. How is Dan's average "inflated" because he spent half the season at reserve, but Joe's average isn't when he spent the whole season at reserve? Besides Dan's good scores came from the harder number 6 position, so the jump to second string shouldn't slow him down much! I'm not sure why his scoring tailed off so much?
  20. If that's true Poole should offer him less money, he can't go back to Plymouth!
  21. I don't think it's possible for any rider on a 2.00 Ave to be "any good" otherwise they wouldn't be a 2.00 rider! It's very possible to have a 2.00 rider who is very promising & likely to become "good" such as Mulford who averaged over 8 in his first full NL season
  22. That's the Extraliga rules not letting them ride in multiple countries not Wroclaw's
  23. Jason Edwards, Nathan Ablitt, Jake Mulford
