Glasgow Vs Workington (Championship) 15/06/2018

Until recently the home promotion paid a percentage of the visiting riders points money the riders own team made up the difference, travelling expenses where usually shared when clubs had old fashioned tours and did the northern clubs on consecutive nights, problem was not all clubs where great at paying their dues on time if at all -
Berwick v Edinburgh 16.06.218 @ 7pm

Not the best of meetings mostly down to the conditions, but at least they got it on well done to all concerned. A good and much needed win after the previous two nights with everyone apart from Spud picking up a heat win , good choice of guest in Matty Weathers . Erik Riss looked very impressive, but Wells apart he lacked support . Couple of weeks off now for the guys to recover from the bumps and bruises and engine problems of the last few days , the K.O cup tie should be very interesting . -
They've tried it a couple of times in the middle tier , but for som e reason they keep dropping it , I agree it's the only way for young Brits to progress .

Good to see you getting behind the boys

Dead rubber of a match , but it's slightly more appealing than the football on tv . I hope the rain remembers to stop . Berwick should win by about 8 points but you never know After the previous two nights they need a win to get the confidence back up . -

I guess Portugal V Spain was more attractive. Going by some of Berwick's away performances over the years I'd probably agree -
When Berwick changed the programme to glossy paper a couple of seasons ago , after a few weeks nd some complaints they changed the middle pages back to old style paper

I saw the person being escorted out, and leaving in a complementary "Police Taxi , any idea why they where ejected ?

World Championship Pairs
DSC67 replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Overall it was a decent competition with some great racing in the final stages . But the format needs to be changed. You can't have a final that encourages riders not to win a " final " , after two days of racing and 40 + heats the team with the most points should win IMHO , maybe it's all about building excitement and ensuring that the meeting does fizzle out like a damp squib . Well done to Great Britain an excellent performance and one in the eye for the doom and gloom merchants, many there is some light at the end of the tunnel . I'd like to think that the competition won't be an annual thing maybe alternative years with the WTC also it needs to be moved around the nations and not based in Poland all the time , personally I'd like to see a return to some proper 7 man test matches on a home and away basis but I don't see it happening any time soon . -
You should use that quote on trip advisor

Not the most exciting meeting so far -
Don't clubs have to have a certain value of rider assets on their books ?
-
I think he's at Berwick quite often on a Saturday night
-
Depending on the terms of the deal , but if a club doesnt want a rider the next season the the club he's on loan to has first option
-
People have been moaning about the asset system since the 70's )and probably before that too ) , so don't hold your breath for it changing anytime soon

That's been the problem with Ben wherever he's been , when he's good he's great to watch , I love his guts or glory style , but there always seems to be another problem just around the next corner for him
