Slovenian Fim Speedway Gp 30th April 2016
nw42 replied to kraftwerk's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Indeed, perhaps we should all let them know how impressed we are, a quick email would suffice I'm sure. We need to give them all the encouragement possible to keep them interested in our sport. Well done Natalie Quirk, great start. -

Points are going all over the place, impossible to call the semis at this stage, really enjoying it. -

Hmmm... -
I know it says 'no discussion' but just wanted to say I hope someone is going to keep this thread supplied with a racecard, they enhance the GP viewing experience for me bigtime, I also send one in the post to my brother who doesn't have a printer, so hopefully there will be one on offer soon so I can catch the post. Many thanks to all who provide them, much appreciated. Mods, delete the post if you must.

Nice ride by young Max there, Holta did well to protect him early on and held up Pepe nicely. -

I'm sure they would but I've no idea how, Steve Shovlar one to ask as I think that's how he watches. I use Kodi but through my laptop, which I can plug into my tv via a hdmi lead if I want. Unsure whether you need to purchase anything to set it up through your smart tv but if you can go on the internet with it then I'm sure there will be a way of doing without having to buy any sort of box. -
Modern stadiums were a factor in driving me away from football. If they bring back terracing I would reconsider though.

Get a room the pair of you and stop embarrassing yourselves.

Is it deliberate on your part? If so then brilliant.

Taken from the Belle Vue website for those interested,Scott Nicholl's views on matters. http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1670 "Belle Belle Vue captain Scott Nicholls has welcomed yesterday's decision by the club and Manchester City Council that further urgent works on the National Speedway Stadium's circuit are required. The Rentruck Aces were forced to postpone their Friday night clash with Leicester after heavy rain throughout the week washed out the track and brought to light several defects on Turns 3 & 4. Nicholls says he and his team mates share the fans' frustrations at their lack of home meetings, but has urged people to embrace the bigger picture where these repairs are concerned. He said: "I know there's a lot of people who have been left very frustrated by the number of postponements we've had, none more so than myself and the rest of the Belle Vue riders. "But I think I speak on behalf of all the team and the officials when I say that I'd much rather us delay our home fixtures and get the track sorted than try to rush things for the sake of it. Scott Nicholls with Aces' Team Manager Mark Lemon (CS) "Unfortunately the weather got the better of us on Friday but in hindsight I feel that was a blessing in disguise. We've got some big events coming up this year and we want them to be successful. "As frustrating as it is, I think it is the best and wisest decision to conduct further work on the track ready for our next meeting and the management team have our fullest support in that respect." The Belle Vue boys travel to Leicester tonight hopeful of repeating their sublime victory over King's Lynn last week, something which Nicholls believes his team are more than capable of pulling off. He said: "You can never underestimate people. It's when you get caught unaware that things start go wrong so you have to treat all teams, no matter how strong, with equal amounts of respect. "Leicester may not be the strongest club on paper but they've got plenty of riders who are quite capable of delivering the goods on their day, so we have to ensure we go in to tonight prepared. "We want to carry on from where we left off at King's Lynn. Belle Vue haven't won there for some time and the Stars look to be a strong outfit this year but we were able to match them step for step. "It'd be nice to get the momentum building again at Beaumont Park. It's been very stop start with all of the rain offs but we're in good form right now so hopefully we can come away with a win. "Leicester is a deceptive track. It rides different to how it looks but hopefully the changes they have made over the winter have been enough to open it up a little bit and allow a few more racing lines. "We've got a strong and solid team from top to bottom and already everyone is showing great promise in their performances so we've just got to make sure to maintain our momentum tonight." Coventry's Chris Harris will deputise for Rentruck Aces' spearhead Matej Žagar tonight, who is absent due to his commitments in Round 2 of the Slovenian National Championships in Ljubljana".

Aces using guest facility for Zagar, in comes Chris Harris, like for like really considering it's all new to everyone in terms of competition. I bet Bomber didn't need a 2nd invite either, what an opportunity for him, deserves it really after sticking his neck out at the opening night and coming out to address the fans.

Fair play to you for that because you were quite forthright at the time. Have you binned them off on the back of their treatment of you, or will you continue with the contract? I have dropped them before but I am back with them at the moment, it p!sses me off that the only way to get good deals is to move around, I wonder if they have ever tried rewarding loyalty and giving the 'irresistible' offers to renewing customers instead of pulling out all the stops to attract new ones. Btw, I won't be paying BT any extra for the sport channels, it's years since I paid a penny for tv, other than the licence of course. I have the use of virgin anywhere or whatever it's called, also skygo if I want it, then there's always KODI. -
The 2016 Speedway Best Pairs Cup
nw42 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
It was good just to have some speedway to watch, the bonus was that it was quite a decent meeting, a good appetiser for the season ahead. It was Starman who rightly pointed out the quality of the track prep but that was after he had predicted it would be a rubbish meeting. Maybe it's down to expectations, there were some top riders on show and they all seemed to be having a good go. As for the teams, well it did seem strange but it's something we will get used to if it continues, who know's it may produce new rivalries between certain riders. -

But you're the one who introduced the stupid comments to the thread in the first place, don't you remember, "borefeast" is what you decided it would be. It wasn't though was it, it was a decent meeting, so you were completely wrong in your prediction. If your vast track prep knowledge is so great how come you didn't predict a good meeting, I mean them Poles sure know how to prepare a track, you must have known it would produce good racing. Anyway, at least you were man enough to admit you were wrong in your prediction, oh no wait........... Whopper! -

You put it so much nicer than I ever could. I'm just so pleased there's some live speedway to watch online/tv after a long winter without, if it's a crap meeting it won't be the end of the world but there's no way anyone can predict the quality of racing, you take your chances. -

From the Belle Vue website, "Following the recent remedial works to Turn 3 & Turn 4 by the building contractors, a further inspection of the National Speedway Stadium circuit has been carried out this evening. This considered together with the poor weather forecast for tomorrow, Thursday March 24th, it has been decided to postpone the Good Friday meeting Belle Vue vs Wolverhampton scheduled for March 25th. Re-staging date to be confirmed." http://www.bellevueaces.co/default.aspx -
Hardly a fair comparison, almost all of Leyton Orient's support will live within 'the borough' and won't be rocking up with no idea where to park. Surely things like parking will sort themselves out as people get used to the place, hopefully the promotion will be aware of the parking problems experienced and will put plans in place for the big World Cup meetings.

I think you are correct but wasn't that just until the project was handed over by the contractors, perhaps this has now taken place, or maybe special dispensation has been granted, which would seem sensible in light of the last week's problems. Roll on Friday and a decent meeting... -
