Leicester V Kent Kings - National Trophy - 6/4/14

I was impressed with Morley on Fri at Lakeside. He really seems to be pushing on now. It still baffles me how he hasn't got a PL team place again this season. -

They are called the Leicester Lion cubs not leicester Select. Where I agree that it is difficult to grasp the 'Trophy only' concept I hope it is a success. Tom Wooley is probably the closest thing to local. It would have been good to see Lee Geary in the side but with Buxton not starting their season till late Tom could probably do with the match practice but I hope Geary gets his chance. As for Shanes he started at Leicester (practice) but Coventry could offer him the NL place last year so it doesn't take a genius to work out who won that battle. Leicester need to build up an asset base if the draft system is to be continued and therefore need to dip their toe in the NL water and slowly learn the 'NL' trade. There would have been no point in including riders who the Leicester fans were unaware of. D Greenwood and O Greenwood have both ridden there in MDL finals and Sarjeant - Perry - Clegg have all ridden for the Lions. So plenty of connections with the club. A little bit rich coming from a Cradley supporter but...... Who do you suggest they include? -
Don't suppose it matters anyway I thimk the point is they will get better so if you don't watch them you wont see the improvement

14 year olds can ride 500's they just aren't allowed to race against an opponent. Hence why up till now Reece Downes has had his own personal heat in the Scunthorpe amateur meetings and why Robert Lamber had to ride round on his own at RH How is Australia the 'rest' of Speedway?. What do they do in Europe do? -
They are guests. Not strictly speaking true. you are allowed 1 guest for no. 1, 1 guest for 1-5 from other teams (same or lower average than the replaced rider although i'm not sure about that as they are all 3 pointers) any others all have to be unattached 3 pointers. Although they do have a Layne Cuppit and a Scooter Webster declared and they haven't ridden so not sure what's going on there.

I'm sorry can I correct you on that one, I was there, his pit crew are his mum and dad. I believe he has a pit board but maybe his sponsors insist maybe it isn't them. The large contingent I believe you saw were supporters who went. I met them and spoke to them on the ferry. They sat in the stand for the meeting with R Lambert shirts on. I'm not going to comment on what he has said or hasn't said but my dander would be up if I'd had to travel to Germany every weekend when I had a track just down the road. If you ask me maybe British speedway should court them to get Lambert back on side but they probably wont. People talk about Wofenden well I can remember the days when he was actually described as a bit of a arrogant tool, his 1st attempt at the GP, the posts are on this very forum but now he is a hero as he has matured -
Scunthorpe Stags Vs Kent Kings (nl) - Sunday, March 30th

From the match report tonight from Scunthorpe it appears the Stags did well and are learning all the time so it would appear apart from signing Lee Dicken nothing will change so maybe everybody needs to put this argument to bed.Maybe Adam Kirby will get signed so that leaves 1. I wonder who that will be woods or Portwood both lads could do with the ride without the pressure -

It is what it is and this will be doing nothing for the young lads so maybe we ought to let them get on with it and wish them well. -

Worralls average was manipulated in 2010 if you check his stats for that year he guested as a reserve for more meetings than any rider in 1 - 7's . They al wanted him as he was a good rider fair enough that was also the year they had Nielsen at number 8 on a 5.28 to have Gary Irving at reserve. Nielson took the no. 2 rides for the RR All within the rules ? You decide. I remember it because I had many a tete a tete with Montie and Lucifer over it. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/9237/scunthorpe-nl-15-11-30pm My point is Scunny also like to win and they don't always stick to the NL ethos Just saying -

Make Dudley and Mildenhall join the PL? That's the only way although, Mildenhall's long term future is in doubt anyway. Liam Sanderson looks a good trier and although I don't like to compare, as riders are individual with individual styles but from the photo's from Sunday he looks like another Jason Garrity. It will be interesting progresses where he will end up next season. There is a lot of talk of Poole and Ford but don't forget other EL clubs are looking for assets if this draft idea continues. I hope they all stay with Scunthorpe but if there is a better deal on the table who can blame him. Especially if he is 16 in the winter if he is 16 before the end of the season then maybe Scunny could pin him down to a signature. Anybody would go for a job with better pay show me someone who wouldn't even having started out with the best of intentions. -

I would argue that point. He is probably a far more profficent racer than any of those who were on track yesterday from his moto x. Maybe he feels himself he needs more time in the training league as a more mature rider -

I do get the immpression that Danny Ayres can't ride a speedway bike yet, I'm sure he will learn quickly, but has been named in the Stags with Govier covering for him till he learns as you need to at least be able to slide. Not sure of the point of that. You may want to put me straight as I only have press releases to go on. Alec Wright is waiting in the wings at KL but they haven't named him in the 1-7 yet as do Kent seem to have Luke Harris. -
And will it feature on BBC WM ......I do hope so

The injuries were a concern to me to but I was happy to reserve judgement until they have a couple of meetings under their belt. Is there a distortion of what is considered 'NL ready' ? How is this measured ? -

Not sure I'm overly comfortable with the Govier situation. Too much pressure in my humble opnion, but these lads need to take the chances when they come along.
