They’ll turn up and row in the half of the draw that is that much easier! Good to see 2 semis this year though.

1. Jack Smith 8.20 2. Leon Flint 3.00 3. Kyle Bickley 6.67 4. Jordan Jenkins 7.19 5. Danyon Hume 7.33 6. Jason Edwards 3.00 7. Drew Kemp 3.00

The aim is to pick a side who'll end with the highest collective team average. Simply pick 7 riders upto a 39 point limit and a maximum of 2 riders from each team. No transfers, it's just a start of the season competition. Last year's winner was Eagles69, ahead of Islander15 and SKJ. In 2016 Halifax Tiger won, ahead of John Leslie and Turn Two.

Scorpions vs Edinburgh - 1.4.18 SGB Championship
Islander15 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You just know he will on Sunday. He’s much improved since his time with the Scorpions and no end of times a riders returns and puts in a blinding performance! -
I’d prefer ‘Islander’ but it was taken

Tom Bacon.

Exactly. So it makes much more sense to have Whitmore at reserve and give him potentially 6 rides in a tight encounter. However it’s a stark introduction to the NL for Pavitt, or Douglas, who faces an opposition number 1 in their first ride and no luxury of grabbing a point in heat 2. It looks a difficult year up in Derbyshire after they assembled good teams on paper for the past couple of years which unrivalled as the seasons went on. How old do you think I am haha?

Near to an announcement on the last rider?
-
Yeah I wasn't comparing him to Speight's career, just last seasons appalling 0.50 average. Having seen Kean in action last season you could be right but I bet they score a similar number of points.
-
By the sounds of things, only the BV management seem to think Dicken is good enough! Time will tell if he’s the ‘worst’ in the league or as bad as David Speight was last year but he won’t be far off unfortunately.
-
He does fit. If he wanted the spot then surely he would’ve been there from the start.
-
Out of interest are NSS meetings as good in the daytime? I’ve often found that racing tends to be better in an evening.
-
Some lad from Carmarthen Dragons?
-
Yeah 4 LEAGUE meetings. Gilkes will do 3 league and take his pick of offers for the NT final, KOC & POs to come back next year on a 3.00.
-
Which potential number 7s have turned up then?
-
How many clashes are there currently?
-
Good move and definitely doesn’t weaken them even it’s if debatable if Mountain improves the team. Its unusual that 3 NL teams have had to swap their number 1s this winter. Yet none of them look any weaker and in Stoke’s case they look far stronger.
-
Knight & Mountain look the only options as a stand out number 1. Surely Bowtell would be happy with the ride though.

Championship Predictions 2018
Islander15 replied to RedcarRacer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
1. Ipswich 2. Glasgow 3. Sheffield 4. Scunthorpe 5. Lakeside 6. Edinburgh 7. Workington 8. Redcar 9. Peterborough 10. Newcastle 11. Berwick It looks like 4 from 5 for the POs with Lakeside just missing out, but I won’t rule out Edinburgh completely from nicking 4th. Ipswich, Glasgow & Sheffield look a cut above some teams. Whilst the bottom 2 look dreadful and will be well adrift. -
He’s been in England several years now, so if he’s willing to become British and commit to British speedway then it’s a decent prospect being added to our ranks. The thing is, he can be ‘British’ to get a ride at Birmingham but then represent his home Polish nation internationally. Surely there should be some binding agreement like in other sports.
-
The options look so limited that Roberts probably is the best if he’s fully fit. Anyone who signs is going to struggle massively.
-
The team aren’t as bad as some of the previous posts have suggested. It’s just Dicken that’s the strange/poor signing. It should be a comfortable midtable as the top 3 will be heavy scorers and Lawlor will beat most other second strings at home and he knows the place so can hit the ground running. Mellish & Luke not returning are unfortunate as then it would’ve been a strong team, especially as Ben showed last season that he’ll be a useful reserve.
