  1. Hardly! Cupitt was struggling in 2016 but Taididnt get him a place at IOW where he turned it around and did very well which got him his move to Birmingham.
  2. You only need one of the pair to be useful at home though and score 5/6 from 5 rides regularly to give yourself a fighting chance in an aggregate meeting. At home in a league meeting, the top 4 will win most meetings on their own and when going away to poorer sides you only need someone at the bottom end to kick on.
  3. Some people have unrealistic expectations! It might not look like a Birmingham side of 2015 or 2016 but it's not bottom half either as you say. They've even managed to find a guaranteed average improver in that top 3 with Hume. Then with Walker, Flint and Cupitt (presumably) in the side they always have a decent reserve.
  4. Bound to ride for Laurence Rogers again?
  5. Do we have any factual news for this thread?
  6. They'll have riders lined up/signed and a few are predictable. But they’re just not announced yet.
  7. Extance is a decent rider. He’s just been extremely unfortunate with injuries.
  8. Will Pottinger is your new team manager! You wanted someone tactically astute and I think you’ve found one.
  9. I agree due to their lack of heat winners.
  10. Good to see Doyley still in British speedway.
  11. Probably the best top 3 in the league but it’s relying on improvements from the bottom 4. Also surely Davey will miss a fair few home meetings with Weds being a Premiership race night.
  12. Hunters posed that question to point out that the post he quoted won’t happen! Hunters doesn’t think he’ll drop to reserve.
  13. It's a decent looking side as proved by their end to the 2017 season. It's clearly built with a strong reserve in ind and 3 solid heat leaders could work better than a stand out number 1 seeing as there's even less genuine heat leaders in the league this year which gives Harris, Nicholls and KK all a fair chance of winning multiple races most meetings.
  14. Bacon has a higher average than JPB. Hume + JPB would give the most points to play with.
  15. I can see RTD dropping down first tbh, either him or Bradley. It’s relying on Atkins improving as much as he did this year and stepping up to be a 3rd heat leader imo (especially at home).
  16. Spot on iand! Whoever is the number 7 each month will end up having to take a lot of rides!
  17. This is what I thought but got shot down as Plymouth fans are happy with it. Btw Wilson & Walker fits.
  18. It’s the same ruling as last season.
  19. Chessell’s back! Will he end up being the number 1 on that average?
  20. Bailey vs Baseby: Bailey. Baseby is unproven at number 1 Ayres vs Wood: Wood. He has more potential to consistently hit big scores as Ayers is sometimes erratic. Jenkins vs Brennan: touch and go between the 2 but both will finish 8+. Kinsley vs Powell: Powell just. Both will be strong at home but weak away. Bebee vs Dugard: Touch and go and realistically the smallest improvers for both teams who will both rely on home points. Kemp vs Edwards: Kemp all day long but Edwards is the 2nd best 3.00 man in the league anyway. Marson vs Brooks: Marson slightly. Both are unknown entities over here but Marson’s 500 experience gives him the edge. For what it’s worth haha.
  21. As It’s a new promotion now, who’s to say Davey is as popular with them as he was with Drury etc?
