  1. You nearly always come out with overly critical comments. Sometimes I wonder if you actually do want this Birmingham team to succeed.
  2. Eagles' 2017 reserves: Tom Brennan & Alex hahahah.
  3. So many people have complained over the last few pages over the 'protected 3.00 rider position', but for once the rulebook is explicit and it refers to a 3.00 rider in the initial declaration. It's nothing to do with interpretations and has always read like that! From a preseason point of view it makes much more sense to give these riders averages and let them move up. Otherwise you could have one taking 7 rides every week and cleaning up, when he should be naturally moving up like he would've done every other year!
  4. Barker is entertaining and still a decent rider! Surely that's both of Rob's criteria. As to who to drop, I think it would have to be Davies. He's been inconsistent this year and not really stepped it up from last year imo.
  5. Proctor (I assume Thomsen is a definite no), Rosen and Hall for Kerr, Sarjeant and Castagna? Or Eklof/Rosen and Morris for Kerr and Castagna (which puts Sarjeant at reserve)??
  6. I think it's now 4.50 if you start the season with a PL team and 6.00 if you don't start the season without a PL team (so someone like Morris can stay in the NL & DU). So Bates, Nielsen etc would fall into the first category.
  7. His PL average was lower than it is now. It was around 4.2 then or something like that. He's on 5.86 now.
  8. Bates' average is too high also and he's injured anyway.
  9. You're probably thinking of when he guested for yourselves at BV and got 7+1 from 5.
  10. He has a broken collarbone and dislocated shoulder.
  11. He's injured, so they have no choice but to use R/R. A guest can only cover if a rider is doubling-up, a number 1 or reserve, or if there's more than one missing.
  12. That was the Eagles' fourth league meeting so Powell's average goes to 4.57 & Knight 9.80. So unless they make a double change in the next 7 days, there's no way Andrews will be back.
  13. They do! Mine has an expiry date and has the name of the university on it.
  14. 1. Hmm so I suppose it could be interpreted that way but no-one has done until KL. 2. Where does it say anything like that in the rule book??
  15. With Swiderski out of the declared team, surely he's not in the actual squad (as such a spot doesn't allow him to be anyway, is not a DU rider or #8). So even though the Lakeside website talks about him being able to come back into the side, surely he can't? Unless they're planning on redeclaring every week!
  16. Near enough. Warriors: 1. Wajtknecht (G), 2. Dugard, 3. Smart, 4. Baseby, 5. Cockle, 6. Saul & 7. Govier. Exeter: 1. Ayres, 2. Bates, 3. TBC 4. Chessell 5. Shuttleworth, 6. Atkins7. Phillips. The 7th was originally Bacon but obviously won't be now. Shuttleworth replaces Wilson-Dean as Exeter were told they can't use a PL rider.
  17. Certainly agree with that haha. There's some exciting talent in that Colts side, especially Shanes & Bewley, to complement the Warriors septet. Whilst I'm sure Jacobs will want to put one over the Belle Vue side, with him being an Ace!
  18. Can anyone sit in the grandstand or is it reserved for season ticket holders or something?
  19. 1. Jacobs, 2. Dugard, 3. Smart, 4. Baseby, 5. Cockle, 6. Saul & 7. Govier 1. Bewley, 2. Woolley, 3. Williamson, 4. Shuttleworth, 5. Shanes (G), 6. Lawlor & 7. Holt Going to be a very difficult one.
  20. He'll be riding for Wolves though, won't he?
  21. Hold on here, Birmingham aren't even doing that. Perry is averaging about 1.5 points more than Hall is in the PL. Hall lost his job at Sheffield after all and yet Peterborough made a double change and still kept Perry! On current form Perry is the better rider and the statistics back that up. Whilst Birmingham, Hall and Perry have all been perfectly clear that once Perry is fit then he'll be back. So then Bowen should've started on his old CL figure, Rutherford on 4.64 from his Newport days etc. But the rules say Bowen should have come on his PL figure converted (which he did), whilst Rutherford, Clifton and Purchase all rode before 2011 so were allowed an assessed figure (which they did). They all followed the rules but the BSPA ignores them for Hall and aren't even applying the 'best interests' principle consistently. How is Hall actually a better rider now than Bowen??
  22. Yep it is. Averages are used from 2011 to 2015 whether it be NL or PL doubled, whichever is higher. Hall has a current PL average but no NL average. Yet they're making a deal out of his 2004 CL average, despite the fact that Bowen was allowed in on his PL average converted (which follows the rules!).
