  1. Yes Young Stars by 10. Knight replaces Halsey so that makes MFT much stronger.
  2. What was Compton like? Surely he he's ever going to ride like a number 1 then it'd be round Central Park.
  3. Due to the nature of the league, using rolling averages can be manipulated too because riders improve much faster when they're new to the sport. Take Mildenhall as an example with Bowtell, Isle of Wight with Dugard or Birmingham with Hume. Both improved massively at the end of last season and has nearly scored a maximum already this season. Yet his rolling average would still include his relatively poor scores at the start and middle of last season. So he would likely drop to reserve, as his average isn't going up as much as it should do as the assessed 3.00 reserve gets a new average.
  4. Even if a rider ended the season impressively, his average uses his scores all season long (not just the last 4 meetings). So it would even itself out and a strong finish might make himself look more attractive by teams thinking he could maintain that form.
  5. 7 days after the last meeting, which was 25/4. So effective from tomorrow, I believe.
  6. The number of meetings used to be more and there used to be a home/away ratio. But you just got clubs fixing the fixture list so that their brilliant 3.00 reserve didn't get a new average and he kept taking 7 rides well into June/July. So they reduced the number of meetings.
  7. For Stoke, Chessell apparently guests for Phillips but he has a new 10.00 average from tomorrow so I don't see how he can.
  8. Averages are calculated using this seasons results only! Averages are first issued after 4 league meetings (irrespective of home and away ratio) and then every month after that.
  9. The same can be said of when teams ride on consecutive nights. If someone gets injured in an away trip to Edinburgh then it causes a headache for the following days trip to Workington. Or even when teams ride the home and away fixtures on the same bank holiday day but it's just accepted as a limitation to the way to do things. Do we actually know who Newcastle's guests are?
  10. I've just noticed that when Newcastle visit Scunny in the league it's Bank Holiday Monday in August and BV & KL are riding on that day too! So that's both trips to the EWR without Lambert, Worrall and Rose. Great fixture planning there
  11. Bewley is by far the stand out reserve on show and with it being R/R for Payne, I can see 7 rides for Dan and a good enough score from him to give the Colts the victory. However with this being KOC, I find it surprising that BV don't want to build up a good lead and haven't brought in a guest for Payne because Stoke look to have a stronger top 2 in Wilson and Atkin than Williamson (who has started the year very well, I must add) and Shuttleworth.
  12. With May averages coming into force soon and Holub getting his average after Saturday's away trip you could swap Morris and Wilkinson for Compton and Proctor. 1. Josh Auty 7.43 2. Andre Compton 6.61 3. Ty Proctor 6.68 4. Alex Davies 6.53 5. Ryan Douglas 7.05 6. Zdenek Holub 5.00 7. Josh Bailey 3.00 42.30 But realistically I think it'll be Lyager in for Morris. But once Lyager gets an average they might be 3-4 points below the limit, so will another change be made?
  13. IOW closed at the end of the 2013 season but left the PL after the 2008 season. That's 5 seasons in the NL since you've last been down. But hopefully the new promotion's new initiatives can attract better crowds.
  14. Andy, is there any way you could alert people once you've got the meeting video up on the portal and it's available to buy? Just something simple like send a generic e-mail out to those who subscribe to the alert or tweet it and it's reminding those who may have forgotten also.
  15. Like Teaboy says they've put a lot of work in so I don't want to knock it but tbh I used the portal website instead of the official website.
  16. That's why the likes of me and oldsparky went last night because Scunthorpe gives us what you've listed and what fans want from a good speedway meeting! So take it away and less fans will go. But I think Scunthorpe fans tend to go more when they have a winning team. Oh and bill Ash for the air fence panel. Job sorted
  17. Joe Lawlor is Belle Vue's number 8 this year and has just started out riding MDL. He was Scunthorpe yesterday with Buxton. Kev Whelan lives in Edinburgh and has been doing MDL for just under a year now with Buxton. Ive seen him a couple of times at junior level and he's decent enough, if no overnight sensation. But tbh its harsh to judge against Birmingham's powerful team and reserves, who are basically third heat leaders in most other teams!
  18. Not many posts on this thread. Surely a good chance of Scunny's first home win?? The home side have the slightly better top 3 but the visitors the better reserves around EWR imo.
  19. Yeah so for average purposes, this is Perks' first meeting. Alex, Blacklock as a guest is on the Mildenhall website.
  20. Newcastle are a top 4 looking team to me, but they won't finish there if their most influential riders are always missing.
  21. Still, it seems strange to accept a date when your top 2 and reserve are missing.
  22. Am I right on thinking that BV own Steve Worrall and KL own Lambert and Rose, so when you race Scunny on bank holiday Monday you'll be missing those 3 and possibly Aarnio will still be out injured? So only 3 regular Diamonds!
  23. My prediction then is that Eastbourne will score 3 figures over 2 legs.
  24. If a rider is missing due to a PL fixture you can have a guest, so it doesn't have to be R/R for Perry. But I suspect it's all academic as its KOC so we know who is going through anyway.
