Tbf to Harris, he's put in a lot of work over the winter with Poultec and he did very well in the junior champs and pretty well in his spell at Kent. So he's shown that he has speedway potential in him.
-
Great signing. He might be on a high average but he will be nigh on unbeatable around Arlington and even at away tracks I'd expect him to win most heat 15s. Plus it makes the team look more attractive so might bring in a few more fans!
-
You'd like to think so but seeing as Bowdery announced that he'd signed for Birmingham during the winter I would've thought that he would be a better bet than Locke. That's simply if it's down to the team's choice.
-
Good to see Ben fixed up. Did you see him last season at Perry Barr

You conveniently didn't quote the part of my post where I answered this. If you're in full-time education at a college or university and are issued with an NUS card, it will have the name of the college or university on it. Therefore people who receive one for an online course etc can be disregarded.
-
So you're saying tough luck to students who are the next generation of supporters and have done nothing wrong but can't afford to pay the price that adults in full-time emolument can! As short sighted as most of the promoters. You don't remove a system because some people flaunted it, you change the rules to stop the people flaunting it! That way unfortunate people aren't penalised.
-
The whole withdrawing of student admission is ridiculous. Many thousands of companies/establishments offer student discounts in Britiain and they accept simply a NUS card issued by a University or College. It even has the Uni or College's name on the card!! Why can't Coventry just do the same instead of acting like its a completely new problem that they've found. So what about those students that just want to see a one off meeting? They're not going to go through all that process and just not bother to turn up, and that's lost income!
-
They shouldn't be able to because the green sheets have Holt's average wrong. It should be 3.44 not 3.00, just check what he ended last season on because the 2015 final issue is right. Then that wouldn't give BV enough points to drop Woolley for Hopwood.

It's the British U21 Semi at Kent tomorrow and the top 10 qualify for the final at Sheffield. Line-up: 1. Kelsey Dugard (Isle of Wight) 2. Luke Ruddick (Mildenhall) 3. Jack Kingston (Cradley) 4. Ellis Perks (Plymouth/Eastbourne) 5. Connor Mountain (Mildenhall) 6. Nathan Greaves (Sheffield/Kings Lynn) 7. Danyon Hume (Birmingham) 8. Jack Parkinson-Blackburn (Birmingham) 9. Danny Phillips (Newcastle/Stoke) 10. Jack Smith (Birmingham) 11. James Shanes (Kent) 12. Alfie Bowtell (Mildenhall) 13. Danno Verge (Kent) 14. Liam Carr (Berwick/Coventry) 15. Josh Bailey (Scunthorpe/Kings Lynn) 16. Ryan Kinsley (Kings Lynn)

You get an extra 5% added to a riders average if you want a guest for a home meeting. However that only applies in the EL and PL, and not the NL.
-
Possibly because the positive news surrounding Plymouth coincides with Connor's negative tweet this morning.
-
Hurry's never done NL whilst they've used averages, and as you say he last did EL so I'd also assume it would be an assessed figure as opposed to a conversion from an old EL figure. Boxall's last NL average is 9.56. But I think catinthehat has a point here. The ruling states: '19.8.2 A Rider’s MA will based upon their latest (attained during the seasons 2011 – 2015 only) NL or PL MA (multiplied by 2 and subject to a minimum / maximum converted MA’s being 3.00 / 12.00. NB. Where a rider has both a previous PL and NL MA, the highest will apply.' So even though Boxall has a current NL average from 2013, I think his PL average of 6.15 would be doubled and rounded down to 12.00 because that is his 'latest' average and the higher of the 2 figures. Am I reading that right?
-
If he was serious about coming back, I was hoping he would be at Smallbrook.
-
Jacobs and Boxall are the only ones who are eligible and their average fits. Sarjeant, Bates, Wilkinson & Kerr all have PL averages too high to double-up, Rose has an NL average over 10 and too high and Perry & Greaves already have NL teams. You have 9.78 left.
-
Well he had a spot at Belle Vue Aces until about a month ago! So I assumed he wanted to ride this season.
-
8.38 The press release says they dropped Hopwood to free up team building points for a new number 1. So to use the extra points they get from Perks the number 1 would need to have an average of 8.92 or more, otherwise that rider could've replaced Hughes and kept Hopwood in the side! Surely the Spillers aren't in the team because they have exams in May/June. So regardless of the Eastbourne team situation they still have exams and it's not fair asking them to come over until after then (just like last season).
-
I was keeping that thread up to date over winter and thought people would't want it doing during the season as the BSPA issues declarations with averages. But do you want me to keep updating it? Looking at who is available at number 1 (and higher than Hughes' average) all I can spot that hasn't retired is Steve Boxall on 9.56.
-
Confirmed on Eastbourne's website as Hopwood out and Perks in, with a number 1 expected to be announced by the end of the week. I make it 9.78 left.
-
I know there's nothing in the rules to say it's only the tier 1s that can move up, but given that before the regs were released it was widely accepted that only tier 1s could move up I wonder if it will be 'clarified' that that's the real meaning. Just like the situation appears with the League Cup tactical rides, that the official clarification contradicts the wording of the actual regulation.

Perks 7.14 and Cottham 4.70 gives a team total of 39.92. Not that I'm advocating a reserve should be dropped after 2 meetings, I'm merely pointing out a possibility.
-
Perks and Cottham for Hughes and a reserve would fit. Surely Phillips would drop to number 8, Powell scored some good points in his 3 meetings last year after all.
-
He says he's spoken to 6 potential number 1s but no joy yet!
