  1. Possibly because the positive news surrounding Plymouth coincides with Connor's negative tweet this morning.
  2. Hurry's never done NL whilst they've used averages, and as you say he last did EL so I'd also assume it would be an assessed figure as opposed to a conversion from an old EL figure. Boxall's last NL average is 9.56. But I think catinthehat has a point here. The ruling states: '19.8.2 A Rider’s MA will based upon their latest (attained during the seasons 2011 – 2015 only) NL or PL MA (multiplied by 2 and subject to a minimum / maximum converted MA’s being 3.00 / 12.00. NB. Where a rider has both a previous PL and NL MA, the highest will apply.' So even though Boxall has a current NL average from 2013, I think his PL average of 6.15 would be doubled and rounded down to 12.00 because that is his 'latest' average and the higher of the 2 figures. Am I reading that right?
  3. If he was serious about coming back, I was hoping he would be at Smallbrook.
  4. Jacobs and Boxall are the only ones who are eligible and their average fits. Sarjeant, Bates, Wilkinson & Kerr all have PL averages too high to double-up, Rose has an NL average over 10 and too high and Perry & Greaves already have NL teams. You have 9.78 left.
  5. Well he had a spot at Belle Vue Aces until about a month ago! So I assumed he wanted to ride this season.
  6. 8.38 The press release says they dropped Hopwood to free up team building points for a new number 1. So to use the extra points they get from Perks the number 1 would need to have an average of 8.92 or more, otherwise that rider could've replaced Hughes and kept Hopwood in the side! Surely the Spillers aren't in the team because they have exams in May/June. So regardless of the Eastbourne team situation they still have exams and it's not fair asking them to come over until after then (just like last season).
  7. I was keeping that thread up to date over winter and thought people would't want it doing during the season as the BSPA issues declarations with averages. But do you want me to keep updating it? Looking at who is available at number 1 (and higher than Hughes' average) all I can spot that hasn't retired is Steve Boxall on 9.56.
  8. Confirmed on Eastbourne's website as Hopwood out and Perks in, with a number 1 expected to be announced by the end of the week. I make it 9.78 left.
  9. I know there's nothing in the rules to say it's only the tier 1s that can move up, but given that before the regs were released it was widely accepted that only tier 1s could move up I wonder if it will be 'clarified' that that's the real meaning. Just like the situation appears with the League Cup tactical rides, that the official clarification contradicts the wording of the actual regulation.
  10. Would it benefit him to take a break to let the bone fully heal? Especially as he'll have KL meetings in that time too.
  11. Perks 7.14 and Cottham 4.70 gives a team total of 39.92. Not that I'm advocating a reserve should be dropped after 2 meetings, I'm merely pointing out a possibility.
  12. Perks and Cottham for Hughes and a reserve would fit. Surely Phillips would drop to number 8, Powell scored some good points in his 3 meetings last year after all.
  13. He says he's spoken to 6 potential number 1s but no joy yet!
  14. Honestly? About 6-8th in the league. A good showing in the Trophy group where I think any of the 3 could top it, but the Warriors could be let down by having several riders new to the track. Based on Kent's showing yesterday they'll just about edge the KOC cup, but again I think it will be close as will the potential next round against Coventry. As to the Pairs, Compton and Cockle may have large averages but I don't see them as strong as some pairings but Cockle knows KL well so that'll help. But Baseby & Smart are strong 3rd & 4th averaged riders, so I think they can make the Fours final.
  15. I haven't seen Bewley yet but based on his winter champs scores at Scunthorpe then he's a talent. But having not ridden NL yet, I assume the PL is too soon right now.
  16. In the speedway star season preview Jon Cook has put Lakeside 1st and Coventry last! I think that's biased or stupid or both
  17. For anyone at the practice session last night, which NL riders turned up?
  18. What's a good website to look at last year's league tables?
  19. Hughes confirms his broken leg near the ankle on Facebook. He's having an operation tonight or tomorrow to have it screwed. Best wishes to him!
  20. Welcome to Kelsey and Compton. Its great to see Kelsey given a chance this year after an unfortunate winter for him. You have to feel sorry for Perks in all of this, having left two clubs already this season! Best wishes to him and I think he'll add points to his average wherever he ends up this year. I'm sure we'll see Brendan around this year!
  21. It's a very good opportunity for Mildenhall to get some early away points in the bag.
  22. I agree that Holder, Kurtz and Newman would all make the team stronger but Rob is loyal and a man of his word so I can't see him going for someone else after promising Lyager a place.
  23. Yes, true that! It's down to interpretation again and presumably the conversation that they had at the AGM.
  24. Jakobsen isn't riding on Thursday but Huckenbeck is, yet Peterborough don't have a meeting. So that makes it look like NBJ is number 8. I though number 8s had to be new to British Speedway, not just the EL, which meant they were a 4.00 and not on a converted PL average.
