Fair enough, I wasn't thinking that Branford wouldn't have ridden yet. Yes because the Isle of Wight had no facility for Bekker when he got injured in preseason a couple of years back.
-
They aren't clubs under the jurisdiction of the BSPA though, are they? The amateur league follows a completely different system where they make up their own rules and league structure.
-
Yes, facilities are allowed for 'any other reason' in the NL. It doesn't just have to be injury.
-
But both should be allowed to happen within the rules and the rider should be allowed to choose whether he wants to sign for a Poole or a Buxton! If a EL club spots a talented rider (I think Neil Vatcher saw Adam Ellis first) then by all means let the EL club promise him this and that and sign him up and loan him to the NL (IOW at the time), and if the rider is happy with that then let it happen. If a NL club spots a rider (take Jason Pipe and Ryan Burton as an example) and gives him his first team place and gives him practice sessions (I know the pair have often been to Scunthorpe this winter) then give the rider the option to sign as an asset of that NL team! NL teams have lots to offer because at the end of the day the most important thing is competitive track time, and you get that in the NL!
-
The new ruling only prevents standalone NL sides from signing assets, and the situation you describe is completely allowed. The whole rule change stinks!

Brilliant result for the Scorpions and especially Davies, plus Bailey on his debut! Wilko at reserve is a bonus and I don't think they'll lose too much scoring power when Holub drops down once he's got used to the tracks but I'm less sure that Lyager will match Klindt's scoring potential and I expect him to drop to reserve. Anyway Rob got the team fired up well last night and a very good opportunity to get out the group now. I look forward to watching the return on Sunday! -

Awful luck for Brendan and my best wishes on a speedy recovery! I was sure he was going to be a great captain because he loves the club, so its unfortunate that I won't see him race this season Also he's said today that his op has been rescheduled for next week in Poole. -
I'm not sure about that, I'll have to refer it to the MC to see if it's in the best interests of the sport

PL fixtures always have priority over NL fixtures, regardless of who owns him and who signed him first.
-
He's taking a year out. I think his partner has had a child if I remember rightly.

Scorpions riding order has Davies at 3, Holub 4 & Douglas at 5. -
When does Kyle Bickley turn 15?
-
Tbf he isnt a 6 point man, is he, he came back mid season last year after a year or so out and then got injured. He's a 7 to 8 really really and has ridden in the Premier League before. How many NL '6 point men' have done that? Plus put him on a track with as good a home track advantage as Arlington and his average will only go up, he might not be a world beater but it's a good signing nevertheless.

1. Dan Greenwood 8.29 (Coventry) 2. Tom Bacon 4.42 (Birmingham) 3. Danny Ayres 7.05 (Kent) 4. Jake Knight 6.00 (Eastbourne) 5. Ellis Perks 7.14 (Isle of Wight) 6. Jack Smith 3.00 (Birmingham) 7. Shelby Rutherford 3.50 (Buxton) Total: 39.40

Someone started this thread in 2014 and it was fairly popular, even though no-one did it last year. So the rules are: build a team to a 40.00 limit, with a max of 2 riders from any 1 team, and the winner is the person who's team has the highest total average at the end of the season! Go Edit: I'll include my attempt once I've decided a team!

Is SEC really that popular with Eastbourne fans that they lose so much money running against it, that they're prepared to not run in the middle of summer when clubs usually get their largest crowds?

Ive put them on the Facebook group. -
Speedway ignores laws/rules like that. Think about the original NL to PL double-up rule that was restricted to under 25s which surely breaks the law by preventing riders over that age by earning a wage in both. Simon Lambert at the start of last season is a good example of this.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2016?
Islander15 replied to Paul Johnson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Who could they realistically sign? The return of Lyager maybe. -
This team will really take some stopping! The league in general looks fairly even (the obvious 3 are definitely the strongest 3 imo) but this side looks truly brilliant!! There's bags of improvement in this team and and some real talents which should make it good to watch too.
-
His current PL average is 3.00 which I makes him eligible for the number 7 role, so I guess he'd come in on a 6.00 but it's a unique case.

Why's Boxall left?
