  1. He may well only own 2 through 2019 and be back to only 1 for 2020
  2. Thanks for posting that Steve - Id left for work and missed it Brought a tear to the eyes and a lump to the throat What a fantastic effort from Ricky and his family. Great to see the huge improvements being made and no one can doubt that there will be more successful progress given the attitude of determination
  3. Not if the clock doesnt start until the ponder crosses the line - as Gambo points out a rider could sit for a few seconds finish many yards behind yet post the fatest time from the ponder result
  4. Negative 'fake news' from Mr Webb then.... At least he is consistent
  5. Time will all start at same point when tapes rise Clock will stop when cross the line so will be a significant difference from front to back of bike
  6. Where is the common sense in a pairs/team event being decided by an individual run off?
  7. I would like this to be possible My only doubt is that with the amount of power and tension at full revs no movement must be almost impossible
  8. Agree thats seems the logical position. Need to be identically placed independantly and the riders not allowed to meddle That should cover almost all eventualities
  9. That would be a fundamental change to who wins a race though At the moment its any part of the bike cutting the plane of the finishing line (usually the front wheel) but would now be the transponder
  10. Good point Also what happens when one rider reaches the line on the back wheel with the bars slightly crossed against a rider pointly dead straight The straight wheel could reach the line first but the transponder be behind the rider with the crossed bars.....
  11. Yes because speedway press releases are a known paragon of truth and virtue Lets see how it pans out
  12. The finances I think was an early smokescreen to the discussion that has been found to be a red herring.....
  13. I would expect there will be at least an initial upturn Very few of those that could be tempted back will read the mixed verdicts on here - they will get the mainstream news - and I think the top flight return will be viewed positively A good start at home and some entertaining meetings will be needed to capitalise and maintain that advantage Fingers crossed
  14. The calculation will be taken to further decimal places for team position if required Not sure that the reduction counts for team position anyway but perhaps only for team building
  15. You can still have 7 separate press pieces by having follow up stories about each rider That could help build a team identity and promote a growing sense of club identity
  16. Are the costs really too high for a 2nd tier professional sports team? An attendance of just 750 would see a break even position There are other clubs with higher crowds and we hear few if any clubs are making profits. This must mean those clubs have even higher costs
