Brennan and Wood both need to move on to the next level and are both more than capable of making a success of it IMO The structure needs to be moulded to assist this type of rider -

I seem to recall that Ermolemko was the first rider to run a last and still take the title and of course in his case he knew it didnt matter -

Thanks Chunky Your insight seems to back up that any winner on the one off final has been at least tied for 4th after 2 rides..... -

Agree with IronScorpion on this one Taking out the top and bottom of the sample is the best way of dealing with any potential manipulation -

Of course it could be won on 10 points without a run off A very unlikely scenarion but not matmatically impossible -

It would be interesting if someone eas able to provide stats on that I wonder how many time the champion came from outside the top 4 after 2 rides I have no idea but an educated guess would be not very many Equally I wonder how many GP champions have been outside the top 4 after 2 rounds -

How is that different from 12 of the field of 16 being out if it after 2 rides of a one off final...... -

Grading would mean far more uneven teams Instead of all teams around 42.5 you would end up with a few effectively nearer 50 and some not far above 35 Would be a disaster IMO -

Chris Louis has also been vocal about how the modern machine rides He has regularly ridden to test since his retirement and it isnt that it is simply harder for him to ride due to not doing it professionally anymore He has said that the characteristics with the way the engines rev are now full throttle or nothing. Old fashioned throttle control simply doesnt work as it did before hence riders becoming 'passengers' at times now in difficult situations and this despite their skills not the lack of skill -

Would be great if it could get towards that level of competition and not just from a position of individual benevolence but to have that as a sustainable business proposition Thats the dream anyway..... -

I wonder though Phil if those that dont want a points limit now is because they are the ones that could dominate as it stands now Guy Nicholls has probably spent more on new plant for his Tru business this month that Matt Fords full asking price for Poole So far he hasnt been inclined to buy a club largely due to the restrictions in place If there were none he may do it and then Id guess perhaps some of those advocating a free reign would not be so keen -

Easy to say when you are one of the teams building with the higher budgets and finishing towards the top end I wonder how those at the top would feel though if the Facennas at Glasgow and Guy Nicholls via Tru7 at Ipswich came in all guns blazing and went onto another level (both probably could if they wished) Would those then playing catch up rather than being top dogs then change their tune? -

I would be surprised if they were unless there were significant underlying changes I dont see there being a big shake up after all - one big league seems less likely now IMO -
