  1. If you put that £80pp cap in place then quite probably even those you list wouldnt be taking a huge cut David isnt the only one Ive heard say they are earning the same or less per point than 10 years ago
  2. But if they lost from that position everytime then they wouldnt have a team total average of 42.50 - it would drop to around 42 So whilst it could be lost it wouldnt if the team maintained the equivalent of a 42.50 total by getting a 3-3 Not quite the 'load of bull' you claim
  3. Donkey is an absolute legend - he couldve pulled out his lawnmower from his shed and won races
  4. Perhaps THJ is suggesting a new/revised approach for 2019.....
  5. Effectively already the case - see below (or a few above - take your pick )
  6. Perhaps more of the Thursday teams will be in the top league anyway making it less likely to be opposed..... Peterborough strongly rumoured to be moving up and availability of the showground apparently much better during midweek too
  7. Whomever it is its done and dusted and the plan to move up in place is what Im hearing
  8. Would Drew want to jump straight into the top level? As good a prospect as he is Id say concentrating on a full year at the middle level (assuming there is still one) would be better for him
  9. Well IF it does happen that wouldnt be a bad start
  10. Can only see a 3 tier set up still being in place now There may well be something akin to an episode of the old kids show Runaround at he AGM though.....
  11. Thats terrible This year Ipswich didnt run the 16 Lapper which was due as part of the season ticket A pro rata refund cheque was sent within a couple of weeks of the confirmation the season was finished with a letter apologising for the meeting not happening and thanking the fan for their valuable support
  12. Cant see it being possible to get the points money down to £40 per point I dont think the Ippo reserves were even on as low as that and the top end probably double at least At £40 a rider averaging 6 would be earning less than £10k from 40 meetings - that doesnt even cover 1 bike for a season let alone a 2nd (or more) as is expected by clubs (and fans) and thats before they earn anything!! Ippo I estimate average 1000+ and I doubt make a profit (although due possibly to paying above average rates and higher stadium rent than most) To achieve such a reduction I think you are looking at a NL+ standard rather than even a diluted Championship It does show that all is reliant on those sponsors and benefactors Re admission - certainly not a £10 sport - thats a pie in the sky thought Where we are now at £15-18 is about right for the mid level league I think a proper 'top league' could go to £20+
  13. Ive cut it down to what I see as the most important point Whilst the sport can only attract 500 or so then the price charged is almost irrelevant IMO
  14. There have been a few studies/articles setting out this point which have resulted in some heated debates on several threads
  15. The 28 ban would extend to both leagues though Ray
  16. No choice Even where a captain notes each meeting that riders pay is not up to date it will take a time to get it sorted If a rider refuses to ride as he has not been paid what happens? Does he get backed? No Instead he gets backed into a corner and threatened with a 28 day ban
  17. Boro is one of the clubs that have a fan base at a level and with the potential to tempt enough back to be able to consider a move up The biggest question mark may well be showground availability to fit with a top league requirement
  18. I think it could be blocked Hawk although perhaps through the SCB rather than the BSPA They are the legally appointed body to licence all tracks in Britain Any non British licence position would have no basis here
  19. Dont get me wrong I agree with the sentiment of your idea but just adding a bit of realism that it cant just change over one winter If you could have a workable combined league of say 18/20 teams meaning the riders had the same number of meetings but for 1 team rather than doubling up then happy days Unfortunately I cant see such a situation being possible right now
  20. Needs a huge amount of goodwill from the employer for it to work Some would find that but many other wouldnt
  21. 50/50 id say - happy to take the positives at the moment Danny certainly is the type to show the determination required to make it happen if its possible
