  1. That would be similar to the extra point for the draw but in reverse - equally unfair!
  2. An honourable principle to provide an exciting crescendo to a meeting and give fans an extra race in order to decide a winner However..... It is flawed by the fact that it means teams score what could be valuable match points that are not available to all competitors It cannot be right that teams drawing meetings can ultimately earn more points In a league scenario much tighter than this seasons cut and dried top 4 it could easily decide who qualifies for the play offs Example Team A has finished on 40 points and sit in 3rd place with a healthy race points advantage over those below Teams B and C are on 39 and 36 points respectively with a home and away double between them remaining So Team A are safely in the play offs right? Whatever combination of win lose draw between B and C it would be impossible to split the 5 points and see both overhaul Team A Hold my beer - here comes the super heat!! 2 draws later and 5 match points becomes 7 seeing Team A dumped from the play off positions
  3. Why bother with the super heat - surely it's just another rock, paper, scissors
  4. Yes previously he covered the RS position which has its own section The regs do state that a rider still on an assessed average cannot guest The CMA is only related to Prem and Champ positions - the NL junior would always be OK
  5. How can Cairns guest - he is a Championship rider but doesn't have an established CMA.....
  6. Why not just use averages given the whole basis of team make up relies on them Eg A 7 point rider is missing so the averages of the riders used to cover the 4 rides must be no more than 28
  7. Of course - easy to forget what day of the week it is Although surely that was Sheffields Lewis Kerr and this time they would be using Pooles Lewis Kerr
  8. Why would Lewi not be allowed? Wouldn't he now fall into the 'someone from the Championship' category.....
  9. Or getting your RS to pull out 'injured' so you can replace them with your GP reserve......
  10. Think you may be confusing a guest with RR. You cannot have RR at 6
  11. All of that is pretty much how I read it too aside from being over the limit if they withdraw the redeclaration as the previous would automatically apply regardless of the total Time will tell as they say
  12. The Ippo muck up is different in that the new line up couldn't be accepted as it was over the limit and therefore in essence the previous was still in place More relevant is perhaps the RS hokey cokey with Jenkins/Foord Foord was declared but reverted on match day which seems to show it is possible up to when a meeting is ridden Next question is whether a facility is granted for Etheridge if he is still struggling by the time of his debut......
  13. There's still time to revert to the original line up..... Interesting hypothetical - if Sheffield decided they wanted to do that and Kerr and or Sedgy said no could/would the BSPL impose a 28 day ban for withholding their services??
  14. The best and most positive aspect of the final was that it took place in July as planned rather than in monsoon conditions in mid October Below par track surfaces, poorish racing and the finalists and winners being significantly influenced by facilties and guest options still an issue when in comes to integrity and the likelihood of enhanced national profile
  15. That has been dropped this year (sadly) Checknout Tate Z at Belle Vue for example
  16. The real one has changed his profile pic to a set of juggling balls due to the number of times he has been dropped
