  1. No great loss for Oxford - has been a while since he has been able to turn up the heat in Ipswich enough to cause any problem...
  2. I don't disagree with positive aspects of the heat itself - drama, tension and a win on the line Where it is wrong is down to it creating an extra match point which isn't available in other matches
  3. It's a professional sport and needs to act accordingly It may not be the most serious of breaches but once you start letting things slide it becomes thd thin end on the wedge
  4. Also onr of those over 7 was inflated at reserve and then injured giving much better ongoing returns........
  5. Then these new people would love the super heat and not give a Sh!t whether either team gets 0 1 or 2 points and so at least give the scoring the sporting integrity the die hards care about (or should care about anyway) The 2 are not mutually exclusive....
  6. Just 0.09 between Adam and Dan in the rolling averages If desired it is very much in the clubs hands to choose who is at reserve for September They would (or should) know what scores will be dropping out of the 20 meeting sample for each rider and therefore the swing required in the upcoming matches for a switch to happen We know it is done - Leicester did exactly that to keep RR for Becker in the 2nd position therefore allowing Fricke to still take an extra ride
  7. Of course it matters if you want sporting integrity Gladitors and WWE are NOT sport - they are contrived entertainment set in a sporting enviroment If not having a draw is the desired outcome then you should get zero match points for losing the super heat
  8. The extra race is all well and good but the extra point isn't......
  9. That would be similar to the extra point for the draw but in reverse - equally unfair!
  10. An honourable principle to provide an exciting crescendo to a meeting and give fans an extra race in order to decide a winner However..... It is flawed by the fact that it means teams score what could be valuable match points that are not available to all competitors It cannot be right that teams drawing meetings can ultimately earn more points In a league scenario much tighter than this seasons cut and dried top 4 it could easily decide who qualifies for the play offs Example Team A has finished on 40 points and sit in 3rd place with a healthy race points advantage over those below Teams B and C are on 39 and 36 points respectively with a home and away double between them remaining So Team A are safely in the play offs right? Whatever combination of win lose draw between B and C it would be impossible to split the 5 points and see both overhaul Team A Hold my beer - here comes the super heat!! 2 draws later and 5 match points becomes 7 seeing Team A dumped from the play off positions
  11. Why bother with the super heat - surely it's just another rock, paper, scissors
  12. Yes previously he covered the RS position which has its own section The regs do state that a rider still on an assessed average cannot guest The CMA is only related to Prem and Champ positions - the NL junior would always be OK
  13. How can Cairns guest - he is a Championship rider but doesn't have an established CMA.....
  14. Why not just use averages given the whole basis of team make up relies on them Eg A 7 point rider is missing so the averages of the riders used to cover the 4 rides must be no more than 28
  15. Of course - easy to forget what day of the week it is Although surely that was Sheffields Lewis Kerr and this time they would be using Pooles Lewis Kerr
