The heat 8 Rory 'incident' was a re run after a possible lay down/stay down when staring at a 5-1 reverse anyway. Monarchs report states Danny touched the tapes in heat 1 so the warning shouldve been an exclusion and instead it cost us in 13 when the Monarchs report says his jump was marginal (given the normal Monarchs slant in their reports Id say that means he was stock still and just made a blinder 😜) So swings and roundabouts really. A proper hard fought tie that couldve gone either way.

Of course its only right they cant announce dates until after the 2nd leg over the other semi however unlikely it us for Glasgow to turn it round but some of us need to plan ahead for days off or will miss out.....

Sat 30th is a reserved date in the fixture list at Foxhall and I think is pencilled in assuming Sheffield finish the job as they surely must. KOCup at Sheff on 5th and Foxhall on 12th. These could be be redesignated I suppose given the lack of progress in the other half of the draw.

Im a great beleiver that the first few heats are crucial to set the tone. If after 5 the Witches still have the 10 point lead then we should hold on. If the Monarchs have eaten it away to nothing them they may well stroll it.

The most important fact though being that they crashed not because of bunching (both were clear of the other 2 and space was plentiful) but instead because Riss hit Greaves from behind trying to get to a bit of track that wasnt there for him to use. I can understand your point as I too expected all 4 back - not because I considered that the correct decision but because that is the usual and expected choice for a ref.

Good effort to stretch it out to 10 in the end. The rain nearly turned it into a lottery and certainly helped the Monarchs in the middle. What a star Nathan was again and the poor sod has had another bike ruined. Brave (but correct) decision to exclude Riss 👏👏

Both legs of the Edin/Ips play off are on the dates marked as reserved for PO semi final in the original fixture list for each club from before the season even started which is why that match takes priority.

Our play off record is pretty awful and given that we threw away 3 possible wins in the 4 league meetings with the Monarchs this one is the proverbial banana skin for the Witches. I really hope we can do ourselves justice and at least make the final but Edinburgh are now back at full strength with a full 1-7 which could make all the difference. Whatever the result either way I dont think the tie will be settled in the first leg. We could win at the dale or lose by 20 so .....
