Leicester Lions V Belle Vue Aces 17 Jun 2017
Gavan replied to Robbobee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No different to you following every single post about Tai Woffinden and slagging him off at every opportunity. Oh and people can post on any thread they want to, its called an open forum. Talking of sad individuals how are those lies coming along about being an ex rider and speaking to Tai to tell him what you think of him. Going back to the meeting and if im allowed to post about it i think its a sign of the times im afraid that riders go missing. If i was a Leicester fan i wouldnt spend my hard earned money to go and see the other sides best riders missing -
No they dont. Stops teams using loopholes..............sacking a rider on a higher average , replacing him with someone who is doing better, then bringing him back him later on a much lower one to replace someone of lesser ability........in Pooles case this would stop them bringing Newman in for say Shanes. Im agreed in that i dont see the logic in replacing Newman with Starke (after all it was Pooles crap track that caused his injury) but there is no way that Poole should be allowed to fiddle him back in on a lower average

Ipswich V Berwick 15/6/17

Unless racing Ben Barker! -
A good score i agree and can only beat what was in front of him. The test will come against better teams not a heavily weakened Berwick
-
Wouldnt say he says himself as always right Its when he posts 'facts' without checking anything and then when its pointed out he is wrong he doesnt discuss or admit his error just simply has a go back
-
Im just going to go over the highlighted points. Klindt i would imagine will only get 4 rides in the main team not 6 or 7 and be racing in harder races. Therefore i would expect his average to drop by around 2 points....likewise if Newman was at reserve then i would expect to average a couple of points more. Please can i use your calculator as ive no idea where you get Starke averaging nearly 10 a meeting. Just around 7.5 it looks like Granted Newman is averaging about a point lower. But in the top league a struggling Newman is averaging more than Starke. A like for like change that doesnt improve the team and only served to get rid of a loyal rider......crazy. James Shanes is doing ok, slightly better than Smith but not as good as other number 7's like Wajtknecht and Perks but he is doing his job, again crazy to let him go. And your last point...........why bring in Gomolski????? You seem obsessed

Ipswich V Berwick 15/6/17

I get plenty of stick , mainly from the Poole mob, about picking and choosing meetings. I finish work at 6pm if im lucky and live about an hour away from Foxhall. The cost for me to go to a home meeting is around £50 and if the match doesnt look like it will be good then i dont go. I always go to the first and last meetings of a season but other then that i pick and choose. So far ive been to Glasgow, Newcastle and Edinburgh. I may well go to the Workington match if only to see our boys v Cookie. Plus Im holiday when Edinburgh and Glasgow come back again. If its a choice between rushing to leave work, not seeing my kids, and spending £50 then a lot of times i wont do that.........and a home match v Berwick means i would rather be at home with my family -
When you have been the most successful club for a number of years and then drop to 'just another side' , then sometimes the desperation to keep winning becomes an irritant and you make rash decisions , ones that are not always right. Maybe it is getting to the time for Matt Ford to think about bowing out. Bit like Arsene Wenger should for Arsenal....at some point things come to an end
-
As i said could understand it if you are getting a better rider that could improve the team as sentiment doesnt come into success.........but is Starke that much of an improvement??
-
Thing is if you are constantly pretty much being bullied and harassed by the same person on whatever thread you go it gets to the point where you have to respond. It is obvious that this Fred Flange thing is a quite despicable person......either a kid of 11 with nothing better to do or simply just not a nice human being who gets delight from abusing others
-
I can understand why Newman has been dropped as his on track performances havent been good enough. But if you drop someone............someone who has been with the club for a long time and given good service..........then you need to replace them with someone who is better..........nothing between Starke and Newman at this level..........and lets not forget how poor Starke has been in the top level this season...hence he didnt have a team after being sacked. Poole did this with Holder........replacing him with a lesser ride in this case in Kasprzak and look how that has turned out. Starke may well get 7-8 every meeting then the change is justified..........in my opinion i cant see that
-
Who would Gomolski be replacing????
-
Championship form is totally irrelevant. Different tracks for a start. Starke was good at reserve for you .........but so again is Newman. Starke is going up into the top 5 ....a position he couldnt handle this season already. I dont see Starke as someone who is going to give you a lot more than what Newman is doing right now, around 4-7 points a meeting
-
You seem quite sure Starke will outscore Newman? Please give evidence as to why as his form in the top flight this season has been shocking. Nothing between Newman and Starke as riders so im interested to know why you think he will be getting 6 or 7 points a meeting for you?? Starke in the premiership.......7,5,4,3,3,4,7,0,7 Newman in the premiership.... 3,6,2,4 You think he is that much better??
-
Pooles troubles all stem from signing KK..................everyone knew he wasnt an out and out number one and its come back on Poole quite hard. You never know time the play offs come round Tai might be available........at least that way Poole might get within touching distance of Wolves over 2 legs! Poole have never been loyal to any rider..........ask Mark Loram! But then again what do Poole fans want? A winning team that could win the league ..........or being a team that makes up the numbers but retains the same riders all the time. Its perfectly clear that Matt Ford wants the former ............and loyalty isnt in his vocabulary.
-
I disagree about Klindt ... i think he has scored what people expected. Shanes was never likely to do much and probably over achieved at the start and now when he is scoring 2 or 3 people moan. Pooles issue is clear............they have no number one plain and simple and a misfiring rider in Newman At the start of the season Jack Holder wasnt doing much but he appears to be up and running. Andersen and Kurtz are going as expected but they cant carry the team. The loss of Klindt especially at home will be huge.
-
your point is what?? He has had a bad injury and lack of track time means he is scoring low and probably lacking in confidence. Matt Ford doesnt have the patience to see if he can turn it around, which has always been the case and is part of the reason Poole have been successful. But with Klindt out looking long term and Holder now injured things are getting tricky
-
Think everyone knew this was coming. Poole have been carrying Newman since he came back and Matt Ford is ruthless when it comes to making changes. He wants to win the league and we all know that sentiment doesnt win you trophies. Shame as he is a Brit and the more races he has the better for my own club as well. But as i say Poole havent won league titles by being soft and riders get moved on if they arent performing

Why would we have Lambert in reserve? He is the second best brit he needs to be in the team -

No im good thanks. This Mr Nobody / Sniffy is quite a sad and pathetic creature. Never comments on the speedway itself and prefers a slanging match. Wouldnt mind but it wasnt me that started off about Poole going away -

Im sure Team GB will be Cook, Lambert, King, Steve Worrall.................unless someone has a stonking British Final If the reserve is an Under 21 then it will go to Josh Bates or Dan Bewley -

Not a chance with your current 1-7, scrapped a win at home and thumped away..............maybe you could get Tai in.........he goes well at Wolves Is that the same Swindon team that beat you over 2 legs recently?? -

Poole rarely get many travelling fans go to away matches. As Shovvy said there was 2 last night To be fair to Starman Poole are an attraction when they go to away matches. They just dont take visiting fans. I have to pick and choose the Ipswich matches i go to. I went to the home match v Edinburgh the other night but i wont be going next week v Berwick. Im sure that other fans are the same. If your team is at home and you can only go sometimes you would try and go when Poole are there rather then say Leicester. Im sure if clubs look at their attendances they get bigger crowds when Poole are there.................not because Poole fans travel because they dont
