Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You sad little man. Are you thick and cant read or just plain ignorant. The British Final wasnt the issue it was the timing of the Semi Finals. You have been told this countless times yet pathetically you choose to ignore it. Tai himself said it was disrespectful to the riders who rode in the semi final that he should get granted a place in the final when they had ridden in the semis and he hadnt, so he said he would decline any offer to ride in the final. Do do us all a favour because for 59 pages you have spouted the same utter claptrap and nonsense at people, and now just go away. -
Saturday night just cemented Bates position in my eyes. British under 21 champ should carry some kudos when it comes to the reserve pick especially as we have nobody who would be capable of stepping up and mixing it. The fact he made the semi finals just adds to the point he is quite clearly the best choice. On to the main team and the fact King won the title should carry some sort of Kudos as well but this is the main team not a reserve position that it doesnt really matter who we choose. If we (rightly) assume that Tai Cook and Lambert are in then the final place is still open and possibly between 3 and at a stretch 4 riders. King - Winner of the British Final on quite a tricky track. Form this season has been patchy. Is one good meeting enough to guarantee him a place? Has rode in the World Cup before and not done much. Nicholls - Been there seen it worn the t shirt at international level but is on the downgrade. Had a decent enough British Final and has beaten King at Belle Vue in every race they have met. Elite league average higher than King as well Harris - Same as Nicholls seen it and done it before but on the downgrade. Always gives 110% and never let the team down in World Cups. Had a shocker of a British Final and hasnt yet gone well at Belle Vue. Again better than King in the league Steve Worrall - Outside bet but unlikely. In flying form, loves the track and had a good British Final but maybe just lacks something for this level. Personally i think Nicholls would do better than King. Would we all reckon Worrall or Starke should be in if they had won the British crown? For me we need to look at more than one meeting in my opinion. Just a footnote im making the trip to Foxhall this Thursday as Newcastle are in town so should be good. What i noticed in this PREMIER league meeting is that the British Number 1,3 and 4 are all riding (King, Lambert, Worrall). Then next month the British Number 2 visits (Cook). Just shows how far the talent has dipped since the 90's when it was tough for any premier league boys to even make the final!

it was interesting yes. Bates scoring 10 coming back from a dislocated shoulder and Ellis scoring 5 coming back from a broken collarbone. When they met in heat 10 Bates comfortably beat him. So this season Bates has made it to the British Final, become British under 21 champion and then in the first round of the World under 21 scores double what Ellis did and made the semi finals. Wether you think Ellis is the better rider or not he cannot match what Bates has done on the track this season. Whoever the reserve is will not matter as neither are good enough but on what he has achieved it has to be Josh Bates.

Bell Vue V Wolves Friday 17th June
Gavan replied to rainman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
bless you as soon as Shovlar posts his little lapdog is there to back him up such a lovely couple And Belle Vue favourites for the title!!!! You chuckle brothers are either trolling (shovlar) or just thick (Starman) . Latest odds Poole are ODDS ON at 4/5 and Belle Vue 100/30. So how do you make Belle Vue favourites??? Oh no that's right you don't know what your talking about! If Poole don't win the league it's choking on a large scale -
Bates has been racing with a dislocated shoulder so neither him or Ellis are fit. or if they raced in the final of the British Under 21 final where Bates left him well behind

When you can understand the rules then come back on and have another go. Masters riding would have meant r/r for PK which would have meant he poor Wolves reserves getting more rides thus Wolves probably doing a lot worse, but then again it seems like you like to try and troll on any thread. You and Starman on another thread!! Must be getting worried that the title is heading to Manchester -

Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
Gavan replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
so enlighten me then? You really believe that just because you had a go at the sport that by making a tiny donation to the Ben Fund you should be able to get in where you want???? There are hundreds of people who tried the sport and werent that good, respect to them for having a go but farcical if you think they deserve free entry. Oh well done for mentioning Tai again its been a while i was getting worried about you History of British Speedway!!!!!! You think anyone who 'had a go' played a part in speedways history!!!! Ive heard it all now mate you are priceless -

Your spot on, a schoolfriend of mine James Harper used to play for Reading and got them promoted and scored goals in the Premier League and he has to pay wherever he goes. Its down to the clubs and i believe you have to be classed as a club or speedway legend to gain free entry and even then its the clubs discretion. As British World Champions , Havelock , Loram and Woffinden should be able to go to any track and expect not to pay. At my club Ipswich i would expect Loram Louis(although promoter so doesnt count) Doncaster (machine examiner so again doesnt count) to get in for free along with Hare and Jansson for obvious reasons. Others who could would be overseas legends that dont live here like Sigalos and Cook. When Hans Nielsen came to Risagers testimonial he didnt pay he was like a guest of honour. Personally i dont get why all ex riders should get in for free, thats a lot of mediocre riders that can just go every week free of charge and what did they put into the sport?? Im sure Robert72 can answer why he feels he should get in free -

Yeah Leigh Adams hasnt put in 5 years service to British Speedway. Your posts are hilarious -
yes if Ellis was British under 21 champ then he would deserve the spot even if the final was at Poole. Your saying Josh had his home track well Belle Vue is big and fast as well so I'm guessing he could probably beat Ellis there as well.
-
im an ipswich fan mate! Being british champ was a great achievement but we need the best 4 we have and is that King? The reserve isn't an important position as whoever we choose isn't good enough so give that to someone who has earnt it
-
Far better and more accomplished??? Bit extreme. Have an opinion by all means but dont go over the top I would put Bates in ahead of Ellis based on his performances in the British Semi Final qualifying for the British Final and actually winning rather than coming third in the British Under 21 Final. It may ' be beyond you' why i would choose Bates but then whats the point of being under 21 champion to get no reward for it?? Neither will score a point unless its gifted to them so give Bates the reward he deserves.
-
Danny King is British Champ but that doesnt make him a better rider than Cook or Lambert yet everyone seems to want King in the team Going along with that train of thought Bates surely deserves his spot ahead of Ellis But lets be honest whoever is reserve will score zilch
-
On what basis do you have Nicholls scoring 4 or 5 and King 10?? King would be up against a quality that he has failed at before. One good meeting in tricky condiitons doesnt in my opinion put him automatically in the top 4 should be Bates not Ellis. Bates finished 8th in a British Semi Final and is the current Under 21 British Champion beating both Ellis and Lambert. How Ellis deserves the spot ahead of Bates is beyond me
-
Nicholls doesnt have it in him anymore? Is this the same Scott Nicholls that has finished in front of Danny King EVERY time they have met at Belle Vue this season?? Nicholls is decent enough to be the 4th rider ahead of King though if it was King i wouldnt argue I get your point but the Aussies and Swedes arent stand outs in my view. Tai is better than Holder and Lindback Cook isnt as good as Doyle or Lindback but could around his home track be more than capable of beating them and Holder for that matter. Lambert is as good as Fricke and on his day could beat Lindgren (though it is Frickes home track. Nicholls or King are as good as if not better than Batchelor/Masters and Nilsson especially at Belle Vue So with great home support im sure we could have qualified for the final if we needed to

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It's a joke these Tai dislikers that haven't the intellect to actually see the truth. The British Semi Final dates were the issue but as you say the people with their own agenda won't listen -
he doesn't speak to you anymore then?
-
you are on of the decent Poole fans mate never have an issue with you even if we disagree as you have the intellect to debate.
-
ha ha thick as hell you are. trolling is posting to try and wind others up. You put the post on about Tai you clown

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Who cares how much you seen someone ride??? Tai moved to Australia by his parents at the age of 4 and moved back at 15. These were not his choices. He grew up in Australia so will hev made many friends there and of course has an affinity with the place. He is British, his family are British. you dont have to like him as a person but only an uneducated imbecile doesnt see him as British -
And you my friend are a complete fool. Nice pic of Ermolenko by the way. Hmm lived in the UK didnt he? Thought he rode for USA??? Spot on its only the usual Poole suspects and Robert72 and then this newbie who cant get their head around facts bless them
