sorry are there reallypeople having a pop at Hancock!!! jeez people! so what Hancock is a gater he pretty much always has been but thats him. Of course someone like Ward is more exciting but until Darcy learns to gate a bit better and/or not overide then he wont achieve anything what Greg has. Takes me back to the late 80's early 90's with Loram, Screen and Louis. Loram and Screen born racers but time after time at the big meetings Louis would gate and beat them. Early on in his career Louis was world number 3 and had won the under 21 title and Mark and Screen nothing yet talent wise Louis was nowhere near them. Mark obviously matured and developed into a world champ and that is something that may take Darcy time. I liken it to snooker Hendry, Davis, John Higgins all boring and steady but compare their records to that of say Alex Higgins or Jimmy White. To much more talented players but not as successful. Long may Hancock continue to show how good he is. Lets see if Emil and Darcy can mature enough to become world champ

the elite league is dying on its arse and will continue to do so when you have clubs like Poole and their promoter who cares not a jot for the sport. my team is in the premier league and basically the racing is much much better and its a better product. ok so the times might be slower but what does that matter

ha ha hahahahahahahahahahahahahah i know lets have a second string in the elite league in ahead of a former world number 2 in 2011 and a guy who is consistently in the top 10 in the gp's and is in the top 5 of the averages over here. you are clueless I think the wild cards should be: Tungate not Holder Hougaard instead of Gollob Holder and Gollob have had their chance and are a bit stale now having won it only once each. Lets get elite league second strings in there liven it up a bit!! you really need to stay off this forum with your idiotic statements
-
please please please can people get some sense and stop saying Jonasson the man is an elite league second string in a poorish league already! Holder and Gollob are nailed on certaintys. There will be 3 danes and 3 poles so effectively that means no Dudek or MJJ (not good enough) though as world under 21 champ Dudek would get my vote to be honest. There will be a swede so 1 of Freddie or AJ and i would give it to Freddie (again my opinion but the last 2 years has finished above AJ) Last place is a tricky 1 and Harris isnt in the frame. Laguta would add some spice but isnt likely to happen as has burnt a few bridges. Janowski? - to many poles Vaculik is a possible but has stated he wants a year out and he may qualify again and come back stronger. Only 2 aussies so may they be tempted to give Batchelor a try? Dont think they will but its no worse than some. So for me Holder, Gollob, Lindgren and Laguta
-
Hard choices for wild cards. Holder and Gollob will be in then possibly a swede but please stop talking about it being Thj who clearly is so far from this level may as well pick Cook! Jonsson for me and then 1 other. I don't go with this new blood theory I want to see the top riders in the world and the likes of Mjj Dudek and Magic are simply not better than the likes of Lindgren and Jonsson

Stockholm Gp September 21st
Gavan replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Pearson and Tatum showed there lack of quality tonight. Surely they need to understand simple maths kept banging in about Tai needing 12 points or 9 but it was simple end the night 22 ahead and you win! Before Hampels last ride Tai was 23 in front and a third Pearson got on my nerves last night! Not once did he realise that as long as Tai was 22 up at the end he would win! Before Hampels 5th ride there was 23 in it so if Jarek came 3rd or last Tai would have been champ but it wasnt mentioned once! Terrible commentary! -

Pearson is clueless! Tai needs 12 points then Tai needs 8! No he doesn't! Just needs to be 22 in front! Basic maths yet he still hasn't said it! -

24th August 2013 Gp Challenge @ Poole
Gavan replied to Irk Deflector's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Dont agree with this but all entitled to an opinion. I think if a rider finishes 9th or 10th and dont get a wildcard why shouldnt they have the opportunity to try and qualify? Don think those who finish 9th-15th should automatically be excluded from trying to qualify. Personally i wou;d almost go the other way and say people on the cusp like a Lindgren or a Jonsson should do the qualifiers even Tai at the start of the season. As much as i despise KK's blatant disregard for British Speedway and the fans he had 2 new engines for last night and his full Polish pit crew so fair play to him and Iversen in doing the qualifiers making certain of a place. More fool someone like Lindgren whose place could be in jeopardy -

If you had asked before the meeting who the best 3 riders in the line up where most would said NKI KK and Bjerre and so it proved. Bjerre deserves his place end of discussion. Why wont Smolinski do anything? I thought the same about Tai and look what he has done. Sour grapes from a Poole fan about Smolinski qualifying when Janowski and Jonasson proved they not good enough ans basically Smolinski is better than both. Janowski may 1 day make it but to much of a gating tart at the moment. Jonasson is a second string at best in a sub standard Elite League and should be nowhere near a GP line up. Poole track shouldnt hold these events its not up to standard. -

Well 2 members of my family went to this meeting and have never been so disappointed. I have to work on Saturdays so no chance of me going. How do Poole get such a big meeting the track is bordering on farcical. It was apparantly a dustbowl and if in Gate 4 no chance. lets have a meeting like this on tracks in the u.k that are fit to stage it Peterborough or Kings Lynn. Janowski rode theres a shock!! Disgusting that he pulls out on friday and lets his club down but happens all the time now with Poles (Skornicki the exception) Kasprzak and Bjerre showing that yet again they are the best of the rest and hopefully puts an end to the argument that the like of Jepsen Jensen or Dudek should get in. Jonasson on his home track was disappointing and proved that as an elite league reserve/second string that it would be a huge error to put him in ahead of the likes of Lindgren or Jonsson. Janowski went missing in a big meeting and if he was in the gp's he would get outclassed pure and simple perhaps needa nother year to show he could be consistent. 2 Poles maybe 3 with Gollob means that there wont be anymore. 3 Danes also means no more Holder Gollob Lindgren and Laguta for me -

Matej Zagar should be in the top 8. If he falls out i guess he has done enough this season to warrant a wild card next year. Good decision from him just left it late. So what if Harris is in does it really matter! -
i know what you are saying but surely just because we dont like particular things about someone doesnt mean we want them to not be here anymore! Tony Millard wasnt everyones cup of tea and made mistkes but wouldnt wish him to not be around! Lee Richardson wasnt particularly my favourite rider either especially after he fenced Mark Loram at the British Final but my god i didnt want the tragedy that happened to him you would need to be a bit sick in the head to want that. R.I.P Tony - you wasnt my favourite commentator and yes i mocked the mistakes but death goes beyond that and condolences to all who knew him.

Im guessing Janowski may not ride as his knee is so badly damaged that Poole knew on Monday to book Skornicki for the Lakeside match. What i want to see is janowski get a 15 point max in the challenge and then see what the blue tints say -
Latvian Gp Saturday 17th August
Gavan replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
quite correct Knudsen just seemed to lack that final killer instinct possibly a bit like Leigh Adams. Ermolenko was lucky in Pocking re the engine failure, the Nielsen incident was 50/50. True Sam was a guy people wanted to see win a world crown, but in his last ride i believe he ran a last just cruising round at the back as the title was won already? If thats the case hate to see that as wasnt fair on all the other guys who at that point though it was the last one off final and could have affected gp places -
do you actually know anything! if you think it is physically more demanding to open the throttle and point the bike (Peterborough) then to be turning the bike on a sixpence on a tight track then buddy you need to do some research! Ask the riders which drains them more!! Mark Loram will tell you!
-
Gosh there is some guff written about tracks. Truly top class riders can ride anywhere - fact. they might not like it but they ride it. There are tracks that have more home track advantage as they are not totally conventional. However i firmly believe it is down to the class of rider that makes the home track adavantage seem much more at some places. Tai Woffinden although brilliant round Wolves would after a few meetings be brilliant around any home track Someone like Buckzowski wouldnt ever be as good at Lakeside or Eastbourne as he is at Peterborough Mark Loram - someone you would class as a flat out true racer hated the Peterborough track but loved Eastbourne and Lakeside because they posed a greater challenge for him. We are obsessed in this country with speed = good racing. It doesnt. 2 evenly matched teams on a track with dirt on provides great racing. Peterborough is the best race track in the country without question but the meeting on sky against Lakeside was boring as it was so one sided. Put Peterborough v Swindon on it would probably be a cracker. Ive also seen some great meetings at Lakeside Lakeside Eastbourne and Peterborough are tracks notorious for having 'track specialists'

i understand your views but Leigh Adams never finished outside the top 8 from 1999 to 2008 when he retired from gp racing altogether after finishing 6th i believe in 2008 -

very very talented i agree but..... Michael Lee Mark Loram Jan O Pedersen Tony Rickardsson are 4 i would say were more natural or on a par with Ward. Can Darcy emulate those 4 and be a world champion? Or is he destined to be like a Kelly Moran? All the natural ability in the world 4th on his debut world final but due partly to his poor attitude never achieved what he should have. -

For those to say Ward cant win the world title unless he gates well look at Mark Loram. Problem with Ward will be the same its his attitude and the fact that he looks like he is always due to crash - a fact that stopped him from possibly being on the rostrum this year
