  1. cause you northerners are so quiet! 99% of the comets fans on here have been graceful in the defeat and talk sense and have a discussion, still every club has its sore losers and people who just cant see the wood for the trees. we have our jackal who is just cluless and poole have shovlar. now just trying to work out who is workingtons??? thank you to the true comets who congratulated us
  2. they got about 9 points to play with not 5 or 6 which is what North would average.
  3. Jackal you complete buffoon hope you looking at edinburgh meeting tonight. So far Max Fricke has 3 from 4 rides and Adam had 7 from 4. It's Frickes home track so can you please answer as to how such a poor rider like Adam is out scoring the second coming? Take your vile views on a young rider and get off of this forum as you clearly are deluded
  4. well we can only beat whats put in front of us and Glasgow really are a poor side which is a shame to see. great club with great tradition. Jackal will have a field day about the scoreline but the racing tonight was ok. you would get the same in the elite if Eastbourne or Peterborough were racing. Im also waiting for him to moan about young Adam, a 3 point reserve who has upped his average. only 3 tonight but not for trying. I personally think Adam is in a poorer run of form but all riders hit a lull in a season but it will change. Ben is awesome at the moment and we do have the number 1 we were waiting for. a great racer, interacts with the fans, great signing. Finally felt a bit sad watching Screeny ride round at the end. I remember when I was about 13 or so and Joe, Mark, Chris and Havvy on British Final sundays were greta memories and now the last of those guys is retiring. Never achieved the success his talent deserved but a true great in my eyes just for the riding style. Good health and good luck Joe
  5. Being honest Jackal some of the stuff you wrote I agreed with last season. But now you have simply lost the plot I'm afraid. Adam Ellis is a very good premier league reserve who has upped yes upped his average. I agree he doesn't do when he misses the gate but his job is to get 6 or 7 at home and he is doing that more often than not! So take your vitriol statements and the fact that you are completely clueless as to what a tru supporter is and get a life and get off the forum
  6. Who cares what he looks like its what he does on the track and his conduct off of it that matter! im holding my hands up big time said he wouldnt get more than 8 said he wouldnt make a semi said he would do well not to be 15th nothing against tai but thats what i thought. couldnt be more pleased to be proved wrong what a great season he is on. lets hope he makes the podium at least.
  7. After spending my youth at Foxhall, Waterden Road and Arena its the following. TELSTAR MAGNIFICENT 7 BLACK FOREST (something like that, always played at the end of a meeting at Foxhall)
  8. i think the same price as a league match is very fair. if they want to do something make it cheaper for under 16's as it is half term week so you may get a few parents decide to go as the young ones dont have to get up the next day
  9. how dare you post something sensible! spot on post we would be struggling near the bottom. im more than happy with the premier league. the last meeting i went to was a cracker against somerset. give me that anyday then watching the rubbish the elite served up when we last there. give me a rider like Barker anyday of the week busting a gut to try and pass then Miskowiak for example
  10. WOFFINDEN HAMPEL HANCOCK LINDGREN KASPRZAK WOFFINDEN HAMPEL HANCOCK LINDGREN
  11. only fair weather fans would walk away. I support my club in any league i love speedway. The fact is in both leagues you get good and bad meetings. Lat week against Somerset was a cracking meeting. just because we might be elite league doesnt mean the racing is any better. 15 years ago yes but not today. just because the times might be slower doesnt mean the racing is worse
  12. In my mind Cook Worrall Auty are not going to be any better than the level that Kennett King are at now and what Stead and Howe were at 5 years ago. It is my opinion but I don't think they will make true Grand Prix riders like Nicholls and Harris were.
  13. Nicholls and Harris are pretty much the same level. One has won a gp one is 7 times national champion. The argument Harris would put more on the gate is tosh. Neither is more deserving than the other which is why the choice to give it to Harris is totally disgraceful and wrong. Either give it to 2nd in the British final or give a youngster a chance. Personally none of our other guys are ready and in my mind never will be. Could anyone honestly see Cook or Worrall doing what Mjj did or Zmarlik? We don't have that strength in depth and it looks a long way off to me! If bomber got 2nd fair play. He didn't and shouldn't be there. The fact he whined and whined just makes me hope he gets a big fat zero!
  14. Always remember watching Ben Howe as a youngster mascot and he was sensational. Moved into the team and was brilliant initially but career dipped alarmingly never fulfilled his potential to me. Riders i liked to watch and in some cases under rated Dean Standing Craig Hyde Sam Tesar (not Vladimar Kinder who came with him) Also when i was young i used to watch the juniors and hoped they would go on to something riders like Robbie Fuller, Lawrie Bloomfield and latterly Darrren Fitch and Emerson Fairweather.Any ideas on what happened to those guys?
  15. im confused, how do you score 265 when nobodys scores end in a 5? Having Emil, Jarek , Tai and Holder adds up to 260 on the above chart? Have i missed a change in the scoring system. Regards
  16. everyone should be ok - North has bottled riding so nobody will be fenced
  17. suppose that was a bit of justice tai going out but another good performance proving he is world class now
  18. I want tai to win especially against nicki but he straightened up lost control and hit nicki so should have gone! got away with it so come on tai!
  19. there was 1 line last night which is why cookie moved out to the dirt! if you watched closely the riders off the inside were pointing there bikes outwards off the line. you couldnt stay on the inside a la heat 15 because you would just get passed! im not arguing more positives than negatives but by some peoples reaction you would think it was miles ahead of anything we had seen already in the elite league and it wasnt. Ashley Birks looked brilliant when gating and couldnt pass later on because he stuck inside. ditto David Howe. Aarnio and Palm Toft would never have won there races unless they were off 4. it was an average meeting but yes better than monday. ive said dyer was unlucky to be excluded but he did lock up a bit and turn left that is obvious from the replays. if someone parks it on the corner and gets hit do you exclude the following rider for not moving or the guy who stops in the corner? in my opinion Dyer didnt park it to much or turn appreciably left to be excluded and i would in this case excluded Howe. However i can see why the ref made his decision. Rene Bach cost Workington last night not heat 15
