Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1
Gavan replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
4-2 to us in heat 12 and a 3-3 in heat 14 (Ellis for Edwards) means if we concede two 5-1’s in heats 13 and 15 we lose by 10 and that’s easily getable Must say the racing has been poor tonight -

I’m still adamant Lidsey and Cook tonight hold the key to the meeting Keep these two to a combined score of 14 or less and job done -

I think 12 is easily getable back at foxhall No tac subs allowed and twice at Foxhall Belle Vue have bought Kurtz in as tac sub and got two 5-1’s…. They can’t in this -

So here we are the first leg tonight If we at Ipswich don’t get through to the final we have choked …. We got the skid final we wanted against a team we have dominated over 2 legs all season Play offs can throw up shocks and this could be won or lost tonight Kurtz and Bewley can get the maximum 28 points in this … Bewley gets better as the night goes on and the track line goes right to the fence…. Kurtz although with his mind elsewhere, will score heavy no doubt For me tonight is all about Lidsey and Cook… if these 2 can add 16 points minimum then Ipswich are in trouble We need to keep this to 14 as we have dominated them at Foxhall and the fact they can’t use Bewley or Kurtz as a tac sub is a help At Foxhall the most the top 2 have scored combined is 18 and with Kurtz having the last GP 2 days after I can’t see him taking any risks … if he makes the gate he won’t be caught but if he doesn’t he might not take a risk Hoping for 14 or less defeat tonight … anymore an I think it’s to much -

This will be won or lost at Belle Vue depending on how week Ipswich do against Lidsey and Cook Kurtz and Bewley I’d expect 27 points from Blodorn and the reserves 11 between them maybe That’s 38 Keep Lidseys and Cooks combined scores to 12 and it’s game on -

Putting Brennan at 5 is huge risk Is this Ipswich trying to nullify Lidsey a bit? Comes up against Doyle twice and Emil once so maybe Ipswich hoping that they can restrict his impact a bit …. But it leaves us vulnerable in other heats -

We have comfortably beat Belle Vue over 2 legs everytime this season but now that counts for nothing Belle Vue are the only side in the play offs that could beat anyone by 20 points at home The thing is they can’t ride Foxhall as well as the other 2 in the play offs but if Cook and Blodorn can get 8 between them at Foxhall we might be in trouble Also Kurtz must surely have one eye on the GP….. if he gates at either track he won’t be caught but at home he can take more risks as he has wide open spaces to make moves … if he misses the gate at Foxhall will he bust a gut to try and overtake ….. not saying he won’t ride his hardest but it has to be a concern -
Spot on

Come on mate tonight had nothing on it for us but a lot for them This was a likely result and has no bearing on the play offs

The doom and gloom from some fans in here! Sheffield wanted to win more to get 2nd spot thus meaning home leg second leg against Leicester ….. absolutely nothing on this meeting for Ipswich except stay out of trouble No Ipswich rider tried when behind they didn’t need to This match means nothing come the play offs
-
I don’t agree with not using a rider from a play off side unless you have raced against them Say Ipswich beat Belle Vue and then Sheffield beat Leicester then if Emil gets injured we can use Fricke rather than a mercenary for 1 meeting And I don’t believe we should use Bewley or Kurtz because we knocked them out If it’s a Belle Vue v Sheffield final and Jack Holder is injured then Sheffield can use Emil

And the winner of this weeks most stupid post goes to….. Doyle has been the most loyal overseas rider to British speedway over the last 10-15 years This meeting could only be rearranged for Wednesday when he has a contractual agreement ……. You may or may not be aware this meeting has to be staged before the cut off leaving not many nights when it could be run If this was rained off mid season it would 100% be rerun on a convenient Monday or Thursday with 2 fill teams barring injuries. Ipswich have moved fast to secure 2 guests both of whom go well at Sheffield

You are missing the point Ipswich , Leicester, Birmingham and Oxford hardly produce fast speedway Lynn to a lesser extent is fast but Belle Vue and Sheffield are the fastest Sheffield is narrower and according to your own riders has one line close to the fence Its irrelevant about career ending crashes they can happen anywhere My point is that as a rider would you rather race in tricky conditions at Sheffield or say Ipswich …… Sheffield would be much riskier in adverse conditions
-
Seems like the right call to me Sheffield is the most dangerous track in the league and add on the conditions it could have been a nightmare And before the usual suspects start moaning Sheffield and Belle Vue are the fastest tracks by some way but Sheffield is narrower and as Jack Holder says it only has one real line out wide so it becomes more dangerous on that aspect alone
