It's my last post on this subject as Adam is my son and I don't want it to get personal but I feel it could apply to any rider. How can cutting a riders track time potentially in half improve his riding if their going through a tough time ?

Whatever happened to win as a team, lose as a team ? Let's hope no prospective rider reads how the fans back their riders who are going through a tough patch. I'm sure that'll encourage them to come to foxhall

Start off with two standard bikes and two riders of equal ability, set them up the same and then forbid one rider to touch his. The other can change the gearing to suit the changing track conditions, alter his timing, change jet in the carb , lengthen / shorten the wheelbase by moving the rear wheel, adjust the trye pressure etc etc. by the end if the meeting one will be much quicker than the other. It's not all just about tuning.

Adam has only done 2 heats there for the lakeside junior team over two years ago

I was flying back to France yesterday after taking in Ipswich and lakeside and to see Phil Morris and Neal Vatcher at stanstead airport at 5am with new sponsored team suits and polo shirts for the riders and escorting them to the track. You just had a feeling that organisation is starting to work its way into the youth set up It's heartbreaking for the boys to have missed out after being in contention right upto the end, but the signs are there that finally there's some kind of proper set up and vision for the future. Onwards and upwards.

Especially as none of the profit is spent upgrading the stadium.

Why does every Rye house thread descend into a discussion in fish and chips ? Maybe because the stadium is a dive it's the best thing about it ?

If the new jawa "standard" bike is the saviour of the sport. What do the young riders who've recently come into the speedway do with the bikes / engines they have now ? They'd have to sell them on, ( who's going to buy them if a new standard is introduced ?) making a hell of a lot of equipment obsolete overnight. I can't see that helping young riders out

I can only speak from a personal point of view. We have the van ( without the name in the side ) and take up as many foreign rides as possible. All these rides cost money to do and they're valuable experience, but when you rock up and see the equipment / backing that some if the foreign boys have it's heartbreaking. We do what we can with what we've got but you automatically are on the back foot from the off. I always say to people instead of criticizing, go up and offer a tenner to a rider. That's a third of a way to a tyre and every little helps. There's no major effort to attract a major big name sponsor to British speedway and until that happens we'll always he one step behind foreign riders.

That costs money and there isn't any to help the young Brits

Does anyone know of a link to follow today's meeting in Germany ? Been searching since yesterday but with no luck so far.

If anyone believes that riders are only getting £10 a point then they're seriously deluded.

A lot of clubs stipulate that you must have 2 bikes in their contracts, this in effect means you have to have at least 3 chassis to cover for one bring list in an accident. The days of riding with one bike are long gone.

How can anyone believe the evidence of what you think you saw 4 years ago when it's peppered with " I believe" , "if my memory serves" and " I think it was him" ?? Yeah, that's a reliable account of what happened.
