  1. As easy as expected but thank god a couple of the opposition put up a fight. Blown out of the water in the first 5 heats this was all over as a contest. A good crowd turned up and we’re treated at first to an under watered track. This was rectified after heat 4. But the starts were not even with advantage to gate 2 all night. 8 heat wins. From this gate. For Scunthorpe Nicol was an excellent guest. His first ever visit to Poole but scored a very good 11 from 6 rides. Palin the next highest with 7 from 6. Interesting that the best two scorers were guests. For Poole King only dropped one point as did Schlein. All riders did well with the exception of Bowtell who won heat 1 but struggled thereafter. The bigger news was the return of Ben Cook who looked rusty in his first two rides but brilliant in his last two as he got dialled in. With Ben Basso joining the team in the number two berth from herein it looks very ominous for the other clubs in the league. For the first time in ages Pirates will be at full strength. A tough meeting at Redcar on Friday before entertaining Newcastle next Wednesday. Bring it on!
  2. He has been all over the place. At least they have attempted to stem the flow. Track was under watered tonight with dust issues but they have been watering every 4 heats.
  3. Well I hope that he can show similar form tonight otherwise it will be a cakewalk.
  4. This has the look of a 60+ win for Pirates. Rather have a proper opposition to ride against than that feeble looking team.
  5. Real shame to just get in and read that Adam got injured tonight at Plymouth. Hope it’s not serious and he can still ride in the GP Challenge on Saturday.
  6. Think it’s worked out well to be fair. He sant ride our track and he can’t ride many away tracks either. Basso will be just fine.
  7. Should imagine the Poole promotion will organise a lap of honour for Adam Ellis on Wednesday and the Poole fans will certainly give him a very good reception after becoming British Champion tonight.
  8. Fantastic Adam Ellis! Well deserved and a great ride in the final. Will follow Bewley, Lambert and Woffinden to bigger things.
  9. Set up perfectly for Bewley on his home track. Reasonable meeting with a few decent races. A shame Lambert and Woffinden hold British fans in contempt and can’t be arsed to come over for this one.
  10. So far away for many fans to consider. Would have thought a more central track would have attracted more fans.
  11. Oh dear bad news here. Have the crowds at Eastbourne been that poor? They don’t have the same overheads as other clubs as they own the stadium and with it car park, food outlets etc.
  12. I have to ask. Has Janowski been nobbled? Not made a start since when he was leading the series by a mile. It’s ridiculous that he hadn’t made one start in 4 GP’s. Beyond comprehension. The guy is one of the best riders in the world. Everyone can see he is trying during the race.
  13. No not at all. The machinist would be on around £8-£10 a day if they are skilled. Could be made in Vietnam.
  14. Then it should be remade from the sweatshops of Thailand. I would buy one. Probably £100 ish.
  15. Agree with others. Get a few riders who are not in the actual meeting to ride lots of laps to make some racing lines. Gate 4 a dead duck as Madsen and Zmarzlik have just show . 50 laps between 5-6 riders would turn the track into something all riders could race on. These first 4 heats have been great for riders who drew the inside but unfair to those out wide. No fan of Either Zmarzlik or Madsen but come on, not fair.
  16. Easy Pirates win. If it’s R/R for Jorgensen it could be Poole v 7 rides Adam Ellis.
  17. Rotten luck for Plymouth. Would have probably won if Worrall hadn’t knocked off Bjarne in heat 13 forcing him to withdraw.
  18. I would be more than happy to pay for a stream of Redcar v Poole as would many other speedway fans.
  19. Because Poole pay their riders on time. Fuel expenses are put against his tax bill, and sitting in a can for hours on end are part of the job. Most of the Poole team travel to Dorset for home meetings. Rory Schlein from Coventry, Basso from Denmark overstaying at Middlos, Worrall from Cleethorpes, King from near Peterborough, Neilsen from Beccles, Hume from Aylesbury, Ben Cook at Middlos.
  20. Why would they not run the meeting in the next month or so? This cancellation would have been the last thing the Poole promotion would have wanted, smack bang in the middle of the holiday season and the weather set fair.
