What's the best race you ve seen live
Steve Shovlar replied to r8gdp's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Where Loram and Hamill crashed into each other bend 4. That race is around. Either youtube or on Loramski dvd. Found it I think, though not the Sky camera version. Onto 2 hours 29 mins. -
One thing I do notice out of this years final. Bar the odd one or two, Kings Lynn fans are the biggest load of bad losers we have witnessed on this forum. We’ve had the lot. ‘We are the real champs as we finished top”. ‘We are the best team”, “We deserve the title”, Poole got lucky”, “Jakobsen dive bombed MPT on purpose”, “Jakobsen should have been thrown out of the meeting as MPT got injured”, “ if it wasn’t for the ref”, “MPT missing”, “Iversen missing”, Ellis breaking the tapes”, “Wimborne Roads track”, etc etc etc blah blah blah de blah............ Truth is if they had faced either Somerset or Poole in the semi final they wouldn’t have even been in the final. Kings Lynn got LUCKY in the semi final as Belle Vue were without important riders. if Bewley and Cook were available it would have likely been a Poole v Belle Vue final. Kings Lynn caused a major problem in booking Ellis. It was a desperate move and Allit knew it was wrong and would cause the issue of bringing the sport into disrepute. Being legal or not, it was so bad the MC had to step in and sort out the mess. Poole use of Ellis was taken away from them even though they booked Adam first. Yet the whinging Kings Lynn fans ar trying to throw their clubs sory behaviour at Poole. Disgraceful to be honest. But karma is a wonderful thing. Stop the whinging, show some dignity and congratulate Poole on their 8th title this century.

Wow I have heard it all now! A rider attempting to make a perfectly legal pass might have to have second thoughts, in a split second in a playoff final, incase the rider he is passing might fall off. This isn’t tiddly winks. MPT left a big gap and Jakobsen did what any other rider would have done. MPT was at fault for leaving the gap. Had he stayed on the inside Jakobsen would have been blocked.

You would never have congratulated Poole no matter what. At least admit it. We are deserving Champs. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make our victory any less. And Poole fans will not lose any sleep over the Morris situation as it wasn’t of our making. If we had named Morris as our guest in the second leg without Kings Lynn booking Ellis it would have been a different story. But we all know, including yourself, that wasn’t the case. Glad to see a Kings Lynn fan see it how it was. Well done that man. No. Both the Swedish and Polish leagues are playoff winners take all. As are many sports inc American Football. Every year when the table toppers don’t win it we get the usual ‘we are the champs” bleating. Back in 2010 it happened to Poole who were 20 plus points ahead of Coventry. I don’t think we had any Poole fans saying “we are the real champs”. We just sucked it up and came back the following season and won it again. Kings Lynn had a good season but all they won was the right to have first pick in the semi, and the pic for second leg of final at home (with rich financial rewards)

Well Iversen failed to do anything tonight. Been rubbish for Kings Lynn. Iversen let Lynn down terribly. No suprise it was a stroll for Somerset and it would have been a slaughter had Allen ridden tonight. Where was he? Time for Allitt to go? Well done to the Rebels. Looking forward to starting next season against you with the shield opener.

Kings Lynns choice of guest goes down to Dale Allit and perhaps his lack of experience is showing through. Last week he caused mayhem booking Ellis after Poole had already booked him, and now he has gone with a rider who is unlikely to beat either of Somersets reserves. Perhaps he should fall on his sword and Chapman bring in someone with more experience?

AGM November 2018
Steve Shovlar replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The AGM should have already taken place. November is far too late. Mid July would be far better as teams can then plan in advance and riders/fans will know what the ream is/rules are well in advance. If any issues come up they can ve sorted well before the season starts. With BT Sports very happy with speedway as a product the BSPA need to get some money for their product. £13,000 a year per club is an insult. -
The announcer at Kings Lynn said that Morris was able to ride as the 5% extra for home meetings had been extended to away fixtures as well.
-
Ronnie Russel said when interviewed on BT that he was marking the new track out, which would have been done over a month ago. Has this happened?

I wouldn’t lump down £500,000 in one lump sum. Or even £250,000. My business works differently but is rewarding without tying up such large sums in one go. I am not going to bore everyone talking about my business though.
-
I didn’t say 500,000 was too much. I said My business does well without the hassle going with promoting a speedway club, which would take up virtually every waking hour if it was to be run as a full time business. Not the way I would want to work. Twenty years ago maybe.

I would welcome him back no problem. He’s still improving and thought he looked very professional last week.
