  1. Of course it was. But common sense has prevailed and its now fixed. Come on you Pirates!
  2. Oh well off to Wimborne Road for some speedway racing. Hopefully a good meeting. Lets hope for some good racing and lots of controvesy. Come on you Pirates!
  3. Not unless it has changed in the last 30 mins. Edit. It has changed. Lynn are now 4/5 and Poole 7/5. Lynn still favourites though and rightly so.
  4. The bookies have certainly taken all this into account. Kings Lynn are huge favourites!
  5. Kings Lynns management are very happy with the deal. They now have a rider who they were worried about for the second leg in their team. The rules should have been in place so that Ellis and Morris were protected for Poole. Lynn could have gone with Howarth or r/r.
  6. Kings Lynn didn’t want Morris. They wanted Ellis for both legs. Poole backed down for the good of the sport.
  7. There. I said it wouldn’t take long for the usual suspects to start moaning about Poole being over the limit for Wednesday. If we win it will all because we were over the points limit yadda yadda yadda. Kings Lynn are still firm favourites with the bookies.
  8. Http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk GRAND Final rivals Poole and King’s Lynn have named their teams for both legs of the Premiership title decider this week. Adam Ellis will figure for King’s Lynn in both legs of the tie to replace the injured Niels-Kristian Iversen – and Poole have now booked Nick Morris to cover for Brady Kurtz, also in both meetings. Kurtz crashed out of last Monday’s semi-final thriller with Somerset and sustained a broken collarbone, and Grand Prix star Iversen was hurt in the Tomasz Gollob Benefit meeting in Poland on Sunday. The move to book both riders for both legs has been approved with the agreement of both the Poole and King’s Lynn managements, the Speedway Control Bureau and the BSPA Management Committee. British Speedway vice-chairman Rob Godfrey said: “There was a serious risk of damaging the credibility of our sport because of the guest riders switching clubs after the first leg. “We all agreed this cannot be allowed to happen at a time when the sport is enjoying such a high profile with a British World Champion crowned at the weekend. “A slight amendment has been made to the regulations to allow for these line-ups, and I think everybody agrees it is in the best interests of the sport. “We now wish both Poole and King’s Lynn all the very best for what should be a really entertaining Grand Final for the fans present at each venue and those watching the superb coverage on BT Sport.”
  9. For the first time real common sense applied. It was a completely ridiculous situation that did nothing but damage the sport. Now we can look forward to the final with no issues. However, if we win it I guess some will say its a tainted win as we are over the points limit in the second leg........ So Iversen out of both finals.
  10. Reading the above, there are 2 rules which need to change as a matter of course. The first one is that a rider cannot ride for both teams in the final. The second rule is that riders from the rwo defeated semi final teams also become allegeable to be used as guests.
  11. Poole boss Matt Ford has acknowledged that whilst the King's Lynn Stars use of Adam Ellis as a guest rider for tonight's Premiership play-off first leg is "not ideal", it is permitted within the regulations. Ford booked Ellis last week for the Pirates second leg visit to Norfolk this coming Wednesday after it was evident that Brady Kurtz would be a certain absentee from the Pirates' 10th play off final and then on Sunday King's Lynn found themselves in search of a replacement for Niels-Kristian Iversen who was injured in Poland, and Ellis fitted the bill for them too. Ford explained "We have had a great deal of correspondence today asking how is it possible that Adam will be riding against us tonight but for us on Wednesday and whilst I accept it is not an ideal situation, there is nothing in the rules to prevent this happening. We declared our line-up to King's Lynn last week in accordance with the requirements so they were fully aware that we had booked Adam for Wednesday, and as we were able to go 5% above Brady's average for the home leg I took the decision to utilise Nick Morris for tonight. Whilst the rules preclude teams booking guests from clubs that have already competed in the play-offs, therefore ruling out riders from Somerset and Belle Vue of course, there is nothing to prevent more than one side booking the same rider in different meetings of the play-offs." Tonight's meeting gets underway at 7.30pm with the gates opening from 6pm. Ticket prices are £20 Adults; £17 OAPs & Concessions; £14 Students; £8 Youth (11-15); £4 Child (5-10); £45 Family ticket (2 Adults/2 Child). Programme - 40 page special £4
  12. OK it’s time to put this mess behind us and try to look forward to the final. For those travelling down from Kings Lynn, the weather is dry and overcast. No rain is forecast so it’s all good to go. I believe Kings Lynn are far stronger with Ellis in the team. It should be relatively easy to outscore Iversens efforts this year. Lynn are certainly strengthened tonight. If Iversen doesn’t ride in the second leg they could be weakened but around Wimborne Road Iversen is not a serious threat. Poole need to start the meeting far better then we did against Somerset. We can’t afford to wait until heat 8 before waking up. Very hard one to call. I think we need 12-14 points to be in with a shout of winning the title. Not going to be easy to get any type of lead. Just hope it’s a great meeting.
  13. Iversen has done nothing at Poole this season. Then moaned big time about the track after it had been re-laid. Ellis will most certainly do more than Iversen would have.
  14. Disagree. He took a hell of a whack. Concussion can leave you feeling all over the place. Plus he landed on his collarbone.
  15. Well nothing is now going to change. We are just going to suck it up. What a shame for the sport and final.
  16. Of course I will be there, but its badly tarnished. Normally pretty apprehensive for these meetings but it now feels very flat. Such a shame.
  17. And they changed the rules after that fiasco. But guess what. They effing forgot to implement it in the Premer league playoffs hence this ridiculous situation. Sorry Lisa you beat me to it.
  18. No. He could have said, “sorry, already booked by Poole. It would look bad to turn up for both teams in the final. Have to pass I am afraid”.
  19. You have completely missed the reason for anger amongst all true British speedway fans.
  20. No they don’t as I said earlier. For some unfathomable reason they are there at 18.2.4 but there’s an element of confusion. A decent promotion wouldn’t have caused this sorry mess. Be honest. Kings Lynn promotion have caused this. I understand you want to defend your promotion but this is undefendable to be honest.
  21. The rules should say no. If a rider is booked to take place in the final, that ride should automatically be unavailable to the other team. Simple as that. If the injuries had been reversed, and we had lost a rider today, I would think it abhorent to use a rider who is riding for the opposition in the other leg. I am most certainly not the only one who thinks this. Facebook and twitter is also in meltdown in the speedway world.
  22. Doesn’t add any fire at all. Its like a bucket of water has been thrown over it.
