Us of us who made the trip to Kings Lynn all congratulated the team at the time. That’s enough for me. All this rider of the season, team rider of the season, young rider of the year is just clutter. The whole team won collectively imo.

BT have just released a photo of the ref speaking to Dale Allitt at the time. ”No, no, I saw it clearly Allitt, Jakobsen never touched him”.

Thought the ref got it spot on to be honest.

Not sure how you can compare Collins to Woffinden. As a neutral who has seen both ride, there is no comparison. Woffinden is head and shoulders above Collins. Back in the 70’s the standard was lower in the World Final compared to the GP series. Polish and eastern block riders were making up the numbers.

My previous posts shows why Harris did well. At Rye he wasn’t paid by the point. He was paid to turn up and ride in 4 or 5 heats. It didn’t matter if he scored 2 or 15. He still got the same wage until the money ran out. At Poole he was paid by the point. No points no money. Focuses the brain. He also picked up some decent sponsorship in the short time he rode for the club. Re-vitalised him no end.

Perverse way? That’s unfair. Poole had no say in Iversen crashing in Poland the day before. MPT/Jakobsen was just a typical racing incident and which normally results in both riders walking away. There was no malice in Jakobsens move. Rye closing down had nothing to do with Poole. All to do with Rye paying riders a wage rather than points money causing them to go bust. Harris to Poole absolutely made us the best team in the league.

Where Loram and Hamill crashed into each other bend 4. That race is around. Either youtube or on Loramski dvd. Found it I think, though not the Sky camera version. Onto 2 hours 29 mins.

Yes I have thoughts on your post. All caused by Kings Lynn. Karma is a wonderful thing.

One thing I do notice out of this years final. Bar the odd one or two, Kings Lynn fans are the biggest load of bad losers we have witnessed on this forum. We’ve had the lot. ‘We are the real champs as we finished top”. ‘We are the best team”, “We deserve the title”, Poole got lucky”, “Jakobsen dive bombed MPT on purpose”, “Jakobsen should have been thrown out of the meeting as MPT got injured”, “ if it wasn’t for the ref”, “MPT missing”, “Iversen missing”, Ellis breaking the tapes”, “Wimborne Roads track”, etc etc etc blah blah blah de blah............ Truth is if they had faced either Somerset or Poole in the semi final they wouldn’t have even been in the final. Kings Lynn got LUCKY in the semi final as Belle Vue were without important riders. if Bewley and Cook were available it would have likely been a Poole v Belle Vue final. Kings Lynn caused a major problem in booking Ellis. It was a desperate move and Allit knew it was wrong and would cause the issue of bringing the sport into disrepute. Being legal or not, it was so bad the MC had to step in and sort out the mess. Poole use of Ellis was taken away from them even though they booked Adam first. Yet the whinging Kings Lynn fans ar trying to throw their clubs sory behaviour at Poole. Disgraceful to be honest. But karma is a wonderful thing. Stop the whinging, show some dignity and congratulate Poole on their 8th title this century.

What makes me really chuckle is that Kings Lynn caused all this by ridiculously booking Ellis. Karma!

I believe Since July when Harris joined, Poole were the strongest team in the league, with a better 3 and 4 and much better reserves. And so it proved. About time you congratulated the Champions on our 8th title since the millennium.

Wow I have heard it all now! A rider attempting to make a perfectly legal pass might have to have second thoughts, in a split second in a playoff final, incase the rider he is passing might fall off. This isn’t tiddly winks. MPT left a big gap and Jakobsen did what any other rider would have done. MPT was at fault for leaving the gap. Had he stayed on the inside Jakobsen would have been blocked.

I was responding to Steve0. I missed the response to your post out for some reason (distracted) but was going to say ‘possibly, but you don’t necessarily win trophies by being the best team over the course of the season’.

Perhaps that’s why Iversen has been riding so crap!

Clubs do not get £3k per live meeting. They all get £13k per season.
