Somerset vs Poole (Final)
Steve Shovlar replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Absolutely nothing to do with Poole. Just the intransigence of the Lynn promotion to seek a remedy with Somerset. -

Every available date before the cutoff. Lynn management said no to every one. Source is pretty good. -

Kings Lynn have refused all dates Somerset have offered them before the cutoff. If the meeting isn’t run before the cutoff neither team will benefit. Zero points to either team. -
Tomasz Jedrzejak RIP

Desperately sad news. Watched him ride on tv recently. RIP. -
Josh or Nicolai to reserve for the playoffs? Can’t be bad.

Let Iversen ride on the billiard table of Kings Lynn with gate and go every week. Lynn fans have been moaning all season about a lack of passing around Saddlebow. Wimborne Road is far far smoother than it was at the start of the season. The day of rain of Sunday made a couple of areas spongy, but to be honest why on earth would we want a billiard table of a track? It’s dirt track racing, not F1. If riders like Iversen moan and whinge about it, keep it as it is for extra home advantage! Don’t make it easier for the away team to ride. Sure a couple of bumps appeared last night but so what?

The racing last night was very mediocre compared to what we have seen at Poole recently. Woryna went to the back when messing up. On another night he would have come through to join his partner for a 5-1. Same goes for Worrall. The track also slickened off later and then passing was at a premium. It can and does produce better racing than we got last night. As for it being all over, far from it. Somerset have big home advantage and as we will see next week, are a serious force on their home patch. The whole Poole team will need to be right on it to keep it as close as last night. No passengers.

Just watched it on tv and we gave away so many points. Kurtz and Jackobsen were terrible. Doubt either will be so poor next time. Certainly not one of the better meetings at Poole this year. Josh said in the meeting and at the press conference that rivers of water were running down the track yesterday and the track was nowhere near as grippy as they wanted it with some spongy areas. Still, a decent crowd for an off race night with the cameras present. And a win to take us to the summit for the time being. Playoffs nailed on and if we don’t finish top, I doubt the team that does end up top will not be picking us in the semis. The team all get on, and a good vibe around the team.

Heard tonight that KL are refusing to go to Somerset on every day they have been offered. Meeting might not run before the cutoff.

Wonder where DC2 is? He has been piping on all season taking the P out of Pirates. Looks like all that P taking has now come along and bitten him firmly on the arse. Top of the league with a meeting in hand over Swindon, who are here next Wednesday. Luckily for them we are two men down so have every chance of getting something out of the meeting. Next stop a week tonight and the Rebels v Pirates on BT.

Well I thought we had blown it just before heat 13. But Pirates dug deep to get the win to put us top of the league baby! Admit the racing wasn’t up to the usual Wimborne Road standards but sods law when the meeting is on TV this happens. Not as good as the Kings Lynn demolision job a couple of weeks back but we had proper opposition tonight which kept it tense. Brady had a complete mare, along with Freddie. Both had their worst meetings of the season. We can and will only get better. A few decent heats played out in front of a decent if not packed crowd. I would imagine it will be double tonight when we meet again on bank holiday Monday. Someone posted that Pearson said it was a big crowd. Compared to other clubs tonights would have seemed big. Harris got motm but I would have given it to Josh for his best performance of the season. If Brady and Freddie had got their act in order it would have been a much bigger win but Somerset deserved their point tonight. Here’s the unedited press conference.
