World Championship Pairs
Steve Shovlar replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Does anyone actually care about this event? Seems to me to be a filler. Be suprised if there are more than 1500 in the crowd and why the hell Cook is riding is a complete mystery. The guy is out of his depth at international level. Stick Bewley in for experience, and if he fails Lambert can cover. -
What are you saying? The new trackman Glyn has done a crap job?
-
Matt Ford has stated Magic wanted what was the equivalent of three times the gate money per meeting. It’s not true that riders won’t ride for Poole. They will. For lots of thousands a week. Never going to happen and the reason why not only Poole but any other British club would struggle to bring in a top rider if needed.

Is this some kind of sick joke? -
Poole took Adams, not Swindon. Adams moved to Swindon from Poole when Poole were still NL.

You misunderstand the reason why Holder is not at Poole. It had nothing to do with his skills on a bike. -

Don’t make yourself sound more of an imbecile than we already know you are. I live less than 3 miles from the track. Bone dry all day. -

Was out and about at 8 am and the roads were dry then and have been dry all day. It did rain overnight but was over by the time it was daylight. Just sounds like a total ballsup with the track and an extremely expensive one judging by the amount of people at the stadium. -

From the Poole website. It was with regret that we have to report that tonight's meeting between Poole and Leicester has been postponed due to track conditions. Unfortunately, the weather effects on the circuit have caused the track to 'break-up' in places and in consultation with the SCB referee it was deemed to be unsafe to try and commence racing. -

This is simply scandelous. No other words to say. I am only 3 miles from the track and it’s been bone dry all day. Never crossed my mind in a month of sundays the meeting would be in any doubt. Got to the stadium at 6.25 with long queues. Looked easily like it was biggest crowd of the season. Then Gordon Pairman came out at 6.30 to say the ref had deemed the track unsafe fir racing and called it off. He said the Poole promotion were not given the chance blah de blah. All totally scandelous and will cost the club dearly. -

Gomolski is hardly getting a ride anywhere. Could be out of form.

Trouble is he has no experience of uk tracks.

Goes to show Matt Ford has tried to get a top rider in. ”Even those who have been loyal to British speedway – Freddie Lindgren and Matej Zagar – are not willing to come to Britain at this point. “The same applies to many of those who are not in the GP’s but are exceptional riders – Jarek Hampel, Andreas Jonsson, Antonio Lindback and Leon Madsen. All of those have been tried. “Sadly, the big stars of the sport are finding Britain obstructive and so it’s becoming difficult to entice them. Finances are such that some riders are preferring to attend practice in Poland rather than race in Britain."

I didn’t see anything myself but that’s not to say it didn’t happen. -
Dc you are as fixated as another un mentionable on here. It’s all going to come back and bite you on the ass.

Looking forward to this. Think Poole will win it and with Woryna at reserve alongside Spanner we should make mincemeat of the Leicester 6 and 7. Team should look different after this one with changes on their way. Thoughts?
