I bet you would have been well happy if he had been named as Swindons number 7! He was a one trick pony and dreadful away from BV. Just not good enough in the top flight. N L rider.
-
Jacobs really was a one trick pony. Perks is a far better rider and should get himself sorted sooner rather than later.
-
Then a solid team but not one to win the league. Bewley will do well at reserve and move up into the team at the first green sheets putting Drodz at 6. They will probably win all their home meetings but points away may be harder to come by away from NSS. Built on a budget.
-
This official? Can’t see it on the BV site.
-
Not writing Morris off he has improved every season, but I don’t see him as a top rider gracing the GP series. Might be proved wrong. As for Doyle, Matt Ford said years ago, when Doyle was a 5 and a half rider for Poole, that if he could get over his injury problems and get his shoulder fixed, he had the potential to become a world champion. How many years ago was that?
-
Not sure he will have a higher average than Cook but potential wise is better than most of the other number ones. Certainly has far more potential than Morris, who has a higher average. Morris has made steady progress but I doubt will every grace the GP series. Kurtz will be there in a year or two, barring injury. Kurtz already top flight Poland. His potential there for all to see. Poles have seen it, Poole fans have seen it. Poole’s advantage he is on a low starting average.
-
Swindon v Poole, not Poole v Swindon. i believe Poole will win at Blunsdon next season, if we get the team Matt is trying to assemble.
-
There is no conspiracy theory although some on here actually believe that is the case. The two poles Poole signed were available to all clubs. Whether the other clubs could have put together a package to attract them is another matter. Drodz could well turn out to be a sensational signing, adapting to British tracks better than our two Poles. Different country, different track, and Drodz might instantly settle in the big wide open spaces of NSS, which is similar to Polish tracks. And of course he will probably take one look at Monmore and ask where the real speedway track is! If Drodz clicks and scores a bucketload of points and people moan, you can say he was there for any club to pick up.
-
Drodz is new so 5.0 seems right. Don’t think he’s a 6. Poole’s 2 poles both have official averages. If Poole wanted Drodz do you think we would be able to get him on a 4? Of course not.
-
Yep, neither can I. 4 easy points.
-
Exactly. Kurtz won every heat he finished in. Had an EF and fell in the final. By Gavans comments Tungate is a better rider than Kurtz. I don’t believe for one second Kurtz will finish bottom of the number one riders either. He could easily stick a point on his average. The Aussie championship is pretty meaningless. Even the British championship is better supported. Just a testing gear event and to remain race fit in the winter.

Who cares. Peterborough didn’t give Swindon permission to steal Batchelor. About time their pathetic oneupmanship was exposed. -
Very good looking and strong team. Best so far by a mile.

Why don’t you approach Matt, tell him you will do your magic, and ask him to give you a code so that when the code is presented at the gate it gives the customer £2 off entry or a free program. Code can only be used to first time visitors, to stop regular fans from using it. Then after 3 months Matt can assess how well you have done. If it has been worthwhile you continue on a percentage of money for the new fans you have brought through the gate.

Jack Holder was booted out at the end of the season for disrespecting his boss on a couple of occassions and having a bad attitude in the pits. Calling his boss a see you next tuesday is never good thing to do. And I heard he did have a couple of warnings. Problem then moved to Chris wanting to ride with his brother over here and tried to get Jack back in the Poole team but Matt was having none of it. So when Jack went to Somerset, Chris said he will ride with him there. But Matt wanted Chris in the Poole team so the only way he could do that is if So erset stumped up 25 grand for his contract. Somerset declined and that was that. So now it seems Chris Holder has a choice. Either ride for Poole, or try to get fixed up at another club who are willing to buy his contract. Rumours are about that Chris Holder will now not ride in the UK in 2018. I hope that’s not true as he has been a very good servant to British speedway over the years. I would rather see him at another club than miss the UK altogether. Matt has played hard ball over Jack Holder and rightly so. The lad is still young but has some growing up to do. Perhaps in the future they can patch things up but not at the moment. Chris Holder is still very populat at Poole and I for one would very much like to see him in Poole colours next season. But only if he is committed to the cause and not going through the motions like KK last season.
-
Last I heard Holder didn’t want to ride for Poole as his brother had been booted out, and preferred to give the UK a miss.

You clearly know what you are talking about with social media. But if attracting new fans to attend a meeting was so simple, why is it not being exploited to the hilt and the grandstands packed out with 6 deep on the bends? Clearly what is currently being done on Facebook and twitter isn’t working. Seriously, why don’t you give Matt Ford a call and arrange a meeting with him to demonstrate what you can do to pack out Wimborne Road next season? If you can bring in hundreds of new fans, I am sure Matt Ford would reward you very well.

Although its not going to happen, for the life of me I fail to see how such an idea is terrible. Hundreds of thousands of holiday makers visit the area during the summer months and the major majority would have no idea who or what Poole Speedway is. A coffee shop/cafe in a popular area of the town could introduce new people to the sport. The opportunity to witness some racing on large screens whilst enjoying a frapachinno and the opportunity for the club to make a ticket sale or sell a piece of clothing (clearly it would have to be very stylish for a non speedway fan to purchase but those retro designed shirts look bloody cool) Having a good online presence is important but it won’t bring in many or any new bums on seats on race night. Mostly it is preaching to the converted when there is a mass of untapped potential customers walking about aimlessly wondering what they are going to do when Pirates are riding just up the road. just my opinion.

So back to the 70’s and riders rolling into the tapes and trying to jump the start? Can’t believe that. -

The problem is, if a rider touches the tapes but the race continues, and he team rides to a 5-1 with his partner, blocking every attempt for the opposing rider to pass, then get excluded after the race, he would had an influence on the race by team riding. Rather he was excluded, with riders having to go immediately around to the start, with no reserve replacement in the heat. -
But the difference is you would actually have to actively search for Poole Speedway. Pointless preaching to the converted. A coffee shop would bring the club to the attention of litterally thousands of new people.
