Nice clean new look to the forum.

Correct. Its just an announcement Poole fans will find interesting. If anyone is expected Drabik, Dudek or Helium they are going to be disappointed.
-
Telling people clear off Swindon threads? Where have I heard that before? Lol!
-
Agree.
-
Absolutely agree. There will always be haves and have nots. You cant sterilize the sport to such a degree that all teams are equal. Unlike football we already have a points limit in place for equality. To go any further would be frankly ridiculous.
-
Thats just not true. Other clubs are bound to sign riders who have ridden here in the past and will be brought in on their last EL average. This has always been the case with the sport and how it works. Not sure why you are campaigning for a rule change which is unnecessary. It will just lead to sterile teams.
-
If a rider has an average and is not a gp rider, then he will have an average. No need to re-assess. Its never happened before so why now? I am in agreement that the one over 8 rule is rubbish but several teams were not going to race unless it was brought in. GP riders on a 9 seems fair. Piotr Pawlicki has an average and is not a gp rider, so should come in on his previous EL average. Unless the bspa have made the gp rule for all existing and previous GP riders.
-
I am not talking about those rules. I am talking about riders who are not gp riders coming in on averages they got in the EL in the past. I agree that one over 8 rule is not good. Gp riders on a 9 is fair.
-
But no rule has changed. Riders with old averages are available to all teams, like they have been for years. Nothing has changed!
-
Exactly! No rule has changed for non gp riders and clubs can sign who they want with the exception of only one over 8. This is definately the case re: Pooles two signings tomorrow.
-
Please show me the link to the rule that all riders without a 2017 average are to be given new averages. It is already in the public domain that gp riders have been given a 9 point average. So clearly at the same time it would have been announced by the bspa that not just gp riders but all riders without a 2017 average would be re-assessed. But no. Only GP riders are mentioned. There’s a reason for that. Only GP riders are re-assessed. Other riders already have averages which can be used. I would add that riders new to the league like Liecesters Krystian Pieszczek will be assesed.
-
There is no problem. Stevebrum somehow got it into his head that because GP riders have been given a 9 average if they didn’t ride here last season, so has every rider. This is simply not the case and if a rider has an official EL average from 2013 that can be used.
-
Where did you see this rule change? In your head? We couldnt sign either due to the one over 8 rule. Well I guess we will see on the live feed!
-
The league would not have run if those rules hadnt been bought in. Dont blame Poole nothing to do with Matt Ford. Poole had a top rider to bring in but had to change the Of course the rule changes are the same for everybody. Always has been that previous averages have been used and still remains that way. Only GP riders affected who have not ridden uk in 2017.
-
I don’t see it that way at all. Although I do disagree with the one over 8 rule, the other rule has always been that if a rider has a previous average that is used. Been that since I can remember. So we might have a live feed of a load of old blokes chomping away on turkey, pigs in blankets etc for a couple of hours? Lol!
-
I have already told you its only gp riders without an average in 2017. If riders have a previous average riding in the UK it is valid. Its not cheating.
-
Anyone know what time the broadcast starts tomorrow?
-
There are not many “world class” riders available under 8 points. But there are plenty of quality riders.
-
As long as promoters are aware, which they are, then what’s to worry about? Teams are being built or already complete.
-
Very true. The only laughing will be Poole fans as we sail past 50 at Blunsdon.
-
The rules have been made for everyone. What riders other clubs choose to sign is their business. Clearly the way to a successful side is to sign riders who can improve their starting average.
-
Riders who didn't ride here last season have not been re-assessed. Only GP riders who missed 2017 and GP riders new to the UK get a 9.
-
Why on earth would I do that and ruin the whole event?
-
The promoters obviously do as team building is taking place.
-
So in less than 48 hours time the two new Poole riders will be revealed live on Facebook live. Will the forum go into meltdown? How many will accuse Poole of cheating even though they will be within the rules? How many will laugh at the signings and dismiss them as nothing to get excited about? How many will consider what impressive signings they could turn out to be?
