Guess its down to lifestyle? A nice evening meal out to a good standard restaurant will cost around £2-240 for 2 of us with wine. So 160 a couple seems ok providing the quality is there. I was in Padstow recently with a client and lunch cost £180 at Rick Steins restaurant. I guess some people on here think a Harvester or Beefeater is quality eating out!

Ave?

We are talking a Gala event with dress code to celebrate 70 years of Poole speedway. £80 ahead is not expensive for fine dining and a decent menu. We are not talking about chicken in a basket. £80 a head would be without wine and what you would pay for three courses at a decent restaurant. There's probably entertainment in the price as well.
-
How do you work that out? Genuine question.
-
Er, what on earth has that got to do with anything? Kurtz rode at 1, Morris was protected with easier rides. Swindon fans happy with Morris. Poole fans happy with Kurtz and a saving of the best part of a point. Morris unlikely to improve his average. Kurtz likely to add a point. Who is the best deal?
-
So would you choose Kurtz or Morris as your number one next season?
-
A lack of understanding of talent and ability. I have nothing against Morris but he is never a proper number one. Like I said earlier a Schlein at best. I don’t believe for one minute he will become a GP rider.
-
You clearly have an inability to spot fast rising talent. He has already surpassed Morris regardless of last years Premiership averages.
-
I should imagine every Polish Extraleague club has looked at Morris. No takers. It’s the Championship. Kurtz rides Extraleague in 2018. Is Morris even riding Polish league 1? I have nothing against Morris but I doubt he will go any further than the level he is at right now. Perhaps a Schlein level, not quite a Davey Watt.

Manc talk.

IMO Morris isn’t as good as Kurtz. Kurtz has far more potential which will be revealed in the next few years. Lets see what 2018 brings. But I would be suprised if Brady ends next season with a higher average than Morris. Interestingly Jason Crump in commentary today, when reading out a Morris tweet, said, “where are you, you should be here.” if a three times World Champion thinks Morris should be taking part in the Aussie Championships, perhaps he should be listening?

You have gone through several pairs of pants there. Your missus will be wondering what that other rancid smell is.
-
I will put that in my diary! Guess Poole at 11 am with Somerset 7.30.
-
How strange that a “new” poster makes these comments. It leads one to think he is someone in disguise. But regardless of that, there’s a thread in the international speedway section for the Aussie championships. It is an individual comp so very little to do with cluttering up the Poole threads. If you are a Belle Vue fan go celebrate Tungates win over there and leave this part so we can discuss just how good the 2018 Pirates team is shaping up.

Mondays. Belle Vue, Wolves, Leicester?, Rye House? Wednesday. Poole, Kings Lynn, Somerset, Swindon, (with a few Thursdays)

No Campton was nowhere near him. Agreed. It was Jack Holder. They touched on the apex and Kurtz came off. Fair call to rerun. Heat 20 Tungate clearly touched the tapes. Should have been out but ref bottled it. In rerun Tungate was far from hard but fair. If it had been on TV no one would have said the move fair. If he had done that to Kildemand you would know what would have happened. Kurtz should have just laid it down. It was a dirty move, premeditated as he looked twice to see where Kurtz was before piling into him.
-
I watched it and yes he fluffed the final. But really he could have laid it down in heat 20 and become Champ. In heat 20 Tv clearly showed Tungate touch the tapes, but the ref didn’t exclude him. In the rerun Tungate took a leaf straight out of NP’s book, took two looks, then battered into the side of Kurtz on lap 2 going down the straight. Kurtz somehow managed to stay on but his hand came off the handlebars and he could easily have fallen. Crump said in commentary that Kurtz did remarkably well to regain control. A lay down would have meant Tungate excluded and Kurtz as Champ. A very good meeting to watch and the streaming was excellent overall. I would certainly subscribe to a British version of this if there was no TV deal.

Australian Championship Dates 2018

Good meeting. Well done to Tungate. Comisserations to Kurtz. Heat 20 Tungate lucky and dirty. The TV showed he touched the tapes and got away with it, then took two looks at Kurtz before riding into him. Brady should have laid it down for the title. Kurtz fluffed the start of the final and that was that. Excellent coverage from the streaming company and well worth the money. If there is no BT or Sky, a streaming service like this would be well worth subscribing to. -

The broadcast has now started. Delayed to to a crash with a youngster pre meeting. Good crowd. Very good quality stream with multiple cameras and good commentary. Looks like a very good tv broadcast. Would recommend forking out the 6-7 quid for 3 hours of Sunday morning racing. https://nrgtv.cleeng.com/australian-solo-speedway-championship-rnd-4-gillman-sa/ -

Well I have paid the 6 quid and the broadcast starts in 20 mins. As its the decider it should have some tension. I have been to Gillman and its a pretty good racetrack. Hopefully some good racing to watch in the middle of winter. -
Considering this is a Poole thread, and I am writing about Poole, my post and opinion is completely valid. If you don’t like it don’t read the Poole thread!

Because any promoter worth their salt can’t offer a team place to Shanes until the more important option is in place. You can’t give Shnes a berth and then discover anheat leade rider is available that now won’t fit by a fraction of a point. That would be a schoolboy error.

Madsen was 4th in the averages last year in front of Doyle. He is an extremely high value rider at club level and because of that one of the highest earners in world speedway. When you factor in the risks involved, the expenses, the time of remaining a top of the top rider, its not that high a figure to be honest. More dangerous than F1. Hamilton earns 35 million a year to put it in perspective.

So, are Poland going to back down allowing us to name Sundstrom and Shanes, or are they going to dig their heels in meaning we name P Pawlicki and Shanes? 1 Brady Kurtz 2. Kacper Woryna 3. Josh Grajczonek 4. Chris Holder 5. Piotr Pawlicki 6. Mateusz Szczepaniak 7. James Shanes No team out there to touch us with that 1-7. Swap out Pawlicki and bring in Sundstrom and we will still be the powerhouse team in the league. Strongest top 5, with Mateusz Szczepaniak at reserve, supported by Pirates rider of the year in 2017 James Shanes. Should be a very exciting season for us Pirates fans. Another point to make is with Sundstrom we are well sort of the 42.5. Meaning should a rider underperform, we have scope to redeclare before the first GS to bring in a good replacement.

Hey don’t need to be. The bikes that ride Polish tracks would be set up completely differently to what setups are required in the UK. If he rode his Polish bikes at Monmore he probably wouldn’t get around the first bend.
