Poole Thread Blocked Due To Trolls
Steve Shovlar replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Knowledge has nothing to do with it. It is the bile and abuse he posts on Poole threads which is the problem. -
I am really looking forward to the Swindon v Poole cashes in 2018.

Poole Thread Blocked Due To Trolls
Steve Shovlar replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Might also be a good move to not be able to change your name on here. The name registered is it. No. I am not. -
Rather than block the Poole thread why not just ban Gavan? Calling Poole fans window lickers and having one of his usual rants and decent Poole fans get penalised? Phil should just ban the perpetrators and let us true fans enjoy the forum.

I had a £250 bet on Poole winning the league a few years ago at 100/1. Then the bspa changed the rules from 6 in the playoffs to 4. My bet was refunded by Ladbrokes as the rules had changed but if it had come off I would have been £25,250 better off.

Of course you wouny but highlighting just how tiny the BT offer is. Really getting 1000 subscriptions worldwide shouldnt be impossible.
-
If BT up their offer by 25%, that would mean a further £750 per meeting. And I guess they would throw in some stickers and pens with bt logo on them as well as a show of goodwill? The bspa should turn such a derisory offer down flat. Rather refuse the contract than actually lose money on a deal which would only benefit one party. Clubs would just lose too much money on the deal. Better to walk away and set up a ppv internet channel. Whilst I understand that the internet connections would certainly not be good enough for a tv channel, it should be good enough for the internet. We are not talking 1080p hd streaming. Bspa could then tap into the Polish market as well as the uk fanbase. A fiver to watch a selected Premiership meeting or 20 a month for 4 or 5 live streams would be decent value to fans. 100 subscriptions, which is nothing, would bring in £2000 more than what BT are offering. 200 watching and 7000 pounds more. Obviously costs need to come out but a fast Virgin broadband stream would be adequate. Makes far more sense than BT taking the P.

Dont see a mess at all. I deal with similar situations on an almost daily basis. Its called negotiations and its clear most on this forum would be pretty rubbish at it. Calm, steady, determination to succeed and get the best deal is the order of the day. Many on here would take what they are offered and be happy with their lot. To be a successful negotiator you have to be able to push it to the nth degree without the deal collapsing in a complete disaster. There is bound to be some form of intransigence but both parties want a deal. BT to fill a gap in their summer schedules which will allow them to sell advertising and subscriptions, and the BSPA to showcase their product. BT have started negotiations with a ridiculously low offer, in the hope the majority of promoters will bite and take the deal. Luckily there are some promoters with business savvy minds who can see this is not a fair deal. Like in any deal, from buying a used car to buying a house, we dont offer the asking price on the windscreen or in the estate agents window. We come in low and study the reaction. BT negotiators are doing exactly this. They have made an offer, stepped back and waited. They know, before negotiations have actually started, what price they will be prepared to go up to. Anything less than this is good. The closer it gets to this price the less good it gets. They are lucky that Sky are not also bidding, as that would be a completely different scenario. Another point not brought up is that Polish tv take the feed and broadcast the meetings. They dont get this for free. They also pay for the privilege. Where does that money go? BT or BSPA? The BSPA want the best possible price, full stop. It will probably end up at a price all members will agree on, but it has to be a lot better than the current pitiful offer. I hope a deal can be struck. I enjoy the bonus of watching an extra speedway meeting a week on to of the Swedish and Polish meetings and the live meetings I attend.

Morris is a slow burner improved year on year and will end up at the top end. Kurtz though has a little more flare about him and is more likely to make a bigger impact on the world stage. Seems to have a bit more Crump like gritty determination about him. He has inexplicable bad meetings thrown in with some blinders. Out of the two would rather have Kurtz any day. Lower starting average certainly helps but plenty of improvement to come. Swindon fans would say the same about Morris.

BT probably pay the catering company 3K to turn up and provide food for the crew. Its a miniscule offer really not worthy of consideration. UK speedway will do better getting an in-house production team to do live ppv streaming. Sabmartv in Poland show what can be done.

Poole are going to be a very strong outfit in 2018. Even if Brady starts at number one he might not be in that spot after a month.

Greyhounds would not exist but for gambling. Its not really a sport. No one goes along to support a dog. Netball is no more than a jolly school sportfor girls and again rowing nothing more than an elite sport which only has passing interest when the olympics take place. Speedway for all its sins has a proper league structure snd a fanbase. It has clubs which are connected to towns. The bspa are right to ask for more than 3k. The 18k it costs to broadcast is irrelevant. Bt need live sports and a repeat of the 1993 cricket Gillette cup semi final will hardly have good viewing figures. 3k is seriously a joke of an offer and an insult. I spend that on my business almost daily.

Reassessed Averages
Steve Shovlar replied to dontforgetthefueltapsbruv's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was stated several times on other threads by Stevebrum that cvs said absolutely nothing of the sort. So why are you repeating this fake news Bwitcher? -
Think what POP meant was we already have a one over 8 rider so therefore all the negotiations were a waste of time.
-
BT offering 3K to televise a live meeting is taking the P. Seriously. That is 150 people through the turnstiles at normal prices and 300 at a tenner. Clubs could easily lose 300 for a bt meeting meaning they are seriously out of pocket. No wonder some are not happy. Cant say I blame the promoters to be honest. BT can offer more and should offer more. BSPA would make a stack load more money going ppv online with a fiver a meeting to watch the feed. Plus they can still charge £17 entry. I should imagine 10,000 a meeting would be a fairer price for gp riders and a tenner entry.

No suprise at all everyone knew Brady was going to be our number one. The shocks and suprises will come during the long winter months.
-
Both Swindon and Poole go with a number one just above the 8 point mark. It will be interesting how both teams fill their remaining berths to give strength in depth.
-
Najlepszy młody polski jeździec podążający śladami ojca i zmierzający do Poole?
-
With Matt Ford offering a deal to Magic for the number one berth in 2018? I doubt Ford would have voted for one over 8 when it messed up his team building plans.
-
Hopefully that will be your team.
-
Sorry? What are you on about? Making sweeping statements about someone over hearsay?
-
I have certainly not made light of the situation. Perhaps you should read through my posts again without the garbage replies from the imbeciles. Coventry have their new thread now in the NL section and I hope their fans on here support their new look team.

I have heard Giles has left the building.

This would be fairly easy to implement and would bring in very good money to clubs. Either a £20 monthly subscription to watch all televised meetings or a fiver a meeting. Today the technology is there to get up and running in no time at all. Just need a company willing to do this and I am sure there are several who would love to have the opportunity like Pete Ballinger or Rerun. Time for clubs to become pro active and get this income source online. All that is reuired is a fast broadband and most stadiums have this facility.
