  1. Hearing rumours now of no tv in 2018. Why on earth wasnt the tv deal sorted before the agm?
  2. I am not interested in what Starman has said. But I know I haven’t said anything on here controversial or to the detriment of Coventry. I do believe that if their fans boycott their club they are seriously at risk of it being gone forever. Do they wish that to happen? Hopefully the majority will get behind their team at Leicester on Sunday afternoons.
  3. I believe your imagination has run away with you. Nobody want to see the demise of Coventry speedway and I should imagine Poole fans certainly want them back in the top flight so we can, but for the odd hiccup, continue to smash you at Brandon and Poole. The clashes between the clubs are sadly missed.
  4. If Doyle had got the nod, Nick Morris would not be riding top flight speedway in the UK in 2018 as no other club would have come in for him on his average. By chosing Morris Rosco has guarenteed both will be riding. A tough call but gives Rosco a bit more to play with.
  5. Who is making light of your situation? Nobody as far as I can tell.
  6. Hearing there's been a change at the club but not on track.
  7. Its true. There really is an outbreak of imbecilia.
  8. Why the insult? Because you said I was showing true hate for Coventry when I was doing no such thing. You clearly didn’t read my post. You are depriving some village somewhere of an idiot.
  9. Bloody hell another idiot. Or is there a nasty outbreak of imbecilia in the Coventry area?
  10. No hole here. Just a big smile on my face as you come back with more inane drivel.
  11. How I conduct myself? Lol! I am usually with a group of friends all having a laugh. How are you meant to act at a sporting event? Probably solemnly if you are a Coventry fan? Or cheer your team on and enjoy yourself like our group do at Poole. Would hate to spend any time with you at a meeting. Would probably be suicidal by heat 10!
  12. Perhaps its just you coming over as the condescending fool with nothing to say other than give out abuse. Do you actually attend speedway meetings anyway? Or are you just one of those on here that talks speedway but rarely puts your hand in your pocket to attend a Coventry meeting? Just asking....
  13. I hope your right. He was a shining light last season with his never say die attitude. It was very clear for all to see that he was scoring points through pure guts and determination rather than his skill level, which improved as the season wore on. If he had had the benefit of championship team to double or treble his meetings I feel sure his improvement would have been even more dramatic. Not sure if he is still going to prioritize his grass/long track meetings in 2018 but if he wants to be a good speedway rider he needs to put those ambitions on the back burner for a period and concentrate on the shale. He could develop into a very good rider.
  14. I most certainly will not stop posting on this thread for all your pathetic and frankly childish posts. Even with moronic Coventry fans like Dave Jones, its fair to say speedway fans from all clubs hope that the bees survive and come through this sad period.
  15. Have Brandon Estates ever made a comment anywhere? Other than their lawyer saying the gypsies are in and we need to build houses before they take over, there has been silence from them.
  16. Ok nearly off the bottom of the page and out of date. Needs to be updated and pinned.
  17. Krystian Pieszczek. Great signing for Leicester. No doubt they mean business in 2018 and Krystian Pieszczek is a very good talent. Great equipment, fast gater and loads of potential. Well done to Leicester.
  18. I heard a slight variation on the same story. In that a deal had been done but then Swindon came in with a higher offer which Lakeside accepted, without getting back to Matt. End of the day we only want riders who want to ride for Poole and if Ellis is happy to ride for Swindon then its no big deal. As a Brit I wish him the best.
  19. I don't think there's a speedway fan out there who doesn't want Coventry back in the top flight and on a stable footing. But boycotting the club in their hour of need is not the solution in my opinion. It will just bring about the complete demise that bit faster. Support them or lose them.
  20. For distances to be less, I believe the promoter who has been there the longest can say its ok. Otherwise how would Cradley and Wolves worked out?
  21. Yes the bspa could give a new consortium a licence. But they (bspa) would be wide open to being sued for more money than they have. If, say, they refused to give Horton a licence, and there’s no reason why they wouldn’t, he could just sell the club to a family member who would then apply for a licence. The only legal way new owners can come in is if they buy the club from Horton. There’s no getting over this fact. And they can’t call themselves Brandon Wasps either, or operate within 30 miles of Coventry as each licence has distance protection. What some think could happen is the equivelent to someone knocking on your door. You open it and in they stroll in and say they are now going to live here now and you have no rights. I am not trying to stir the pot. Just saying it as it more or less is. And because Coventry made a 25 grand loss means nothing. Horton could have offset debts/profits from his other businesses. The value of Coventry speedway has very little to do with yearly accounts. Both owners had brought the sport into disrepute. Belle Vue for failing to pay any rent (they were basically dead in the water) and Leicester with the promoter refusing to pay his fine and attacking an official.
  22. People can't just come along and steal someones business as the owner ofCoventry speedway Horton can ask whatever price he sees fit to ask. Whether any prospective buyer would be willing to pay the price asked is up to them. I am not defending Horton just making the point that laws are in place to stop people coming along and stealing businesses from lawful owners. Hopefully Horton will sell and both he and the buyer will be happy. Up to Horton as the lawful owner to ask for whatever price he wants.
