It us ridiculous that the season is over yet the agm us still not until next month. This needs to be brought forward to August or September, so teams can be buult and riders can deal with promotions for yhd following season. Poland have stolen a huge march, will have riders signed up and when if comes to doing a deal riders will not be able to commit as they have signed the Polish contract. The bspa together with Sweden and Poland have to get togethr and work as one against Polands forced demands. Simple as that.

Why on earth are people banging on about Milik being re-assessed? He already has a legit average from last year for gods sake! If he should be re-assessed then so should every rider. People should get off their anti Poole horse. If he was being signed by any other team it wouldn't even be an issue and would be praised as a good signing.
-
Why would Milik be re-asseses? He has an official average. If you think Milik needs his average raising, you are therefore admitting Woffinden was a ringer.

We had the fifth largest economy on the planet. Will that be the case after brexit? Highly unlikely. But why on earth would I want it to fail? Failure means hardship, or less revenue for my business and family. Why would I want less money? My income is down already as prices and fuel rises in Price. While I have a good business and am better off than many people, if I can feel the change already what will the lower end of society, the less well off, be feeling? And this is before we leave. Nothing is going to change with the exception of high food and fuel proces, electronic consumables going through the roof and the standard of living dropping through the floor. But hey, we have our country back, right? 😳 Yep. Instead of that property costing £349,950, it now only costs 348,950.

Hans Andersen has pulled out of Fridays meeting. Still not recovered from hand injury. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/14796337.Speedway__Broken_leg_would_have_been_better_than_broken_finger_says_Pirates_star_Andersen/

I wonder if the people who voted brexit back in June realised just how badly it was going to hit them in the pocket right now, would have still voted to leave? Fruit and veg prices are already on the rise. Fuel is rising at a rate of a penny a day. Holidays are now 20% more expensive than a few months ago. At the time I said a decent majority of the Brexit voters were the equivelent to fishwives of Hartlepool. Didn't have a clue what they really voted for, and still don't know as 'long as they get their country back'. They don't seem to have grasped the fact that the borders will have to remain open for Britain to get the best possible trade deal with europe, by far our biggest trading partner. And the deal we will get will be a very poor second against the one we have now. So what is Britain to gain? Some trade deals with third world nations? The import if large amounts of Brazilian beef is sure to cheer up our beef farmers, who will lose their EU grants. A trade deal with Australia, so instead of un-subsidised expensive beef we can tuck into a roast Sunday lunch of kangeroo. We can make our own laws. Will they be any different to the ones we are governed by today? We take control of our borders. No we won't. Nothing will change as we are had over a barrel. The millions of Brits living in Europe could be forced back here if we close our borders to EU citizens. We are in for years of very hard times. It will hit the poor more but it will hit everyone. Already its costing me money as it is everyone. But thats ok, as we are spending an extra 350 million a week on the NHS. So The vote leave campain would have you believe! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37627308 Happy days!

PL averages would only apply to EDR riders. The others have official EL averages.

Lol! We are used to being at the top of the league, not battling for the wooden spoon.

But this has very little to do with how things will end up for Joe Public. The ftse top 100 is made up of companies who are benefitting from the weak pound. A clearer indication is the ftse top 250 which is made up of more British based companies, who are struggling with the very poor exchange rates.

There is no winner out of the vote. Half the country who voted to stay have been led up the creek by the just overhalf who wanted out. So what are we to gain by severing our links with our main trading partners? Nothing but hardship Imo. The pound is already suffering the consequences of the vote and is expected to dive even further in the coming months and years. This will mean massive rises in fuel prices which will affect everyone. So far we have been lucky in that oil prices have been low but as the pound falls fuel will rise as its paid for in Dollars. I hope we dont hear moans from the brexit brigade as petrol prices go through the roof. As for trade, well the brexit mob say we can deal with the world. Sure we can, except the trade agreements are tariff laden. The EU will not under any circumstances allow us to trade with them on an equal footing unless we agree to their demands. So keeping our borders wide open. So isn't that one of the main reasons why people voted brexit? What do they want? Closed borders and visas to enter the UK, or an even playing field with the rest of Europe. It has been stated we will get our way as the Germans will still want to sell their cars here. I don't believe that for a minute. There is no way the eu will allow us to trade freely with europe without tarrifs. Otherwise what is the point of the eu? They will want to make an example out of the uk so other countries don't have the same thoughts. As for immigration. The horse has already bolted. And closed borders mean no trade deals. We wont be dealing the cards and the card holder has them stacked in their favour. I believe the brexit vote will have catastrophic consequences for the citizens of the UK. All doom and gloom? Yep.

My post was meant tongue in cheek to another post who said Newman and Ellis average should be left as it finished this year. People on here trying to find a way of penalising Poole by trying to get our reserves averages up. But Newman already has a proper PL average to use. If the conversion is 0.6 then its 3.79. There's no argument there. Its a genuine average to be used. All clubs can use the same format. Ellis situation become more tricky. Not riding in the PL means he has no average to use. Coming in on a NL average of 3 is low as he is a better rider than that. 4 points sounds about right and fair, meaning he would have averaged about 8 PL. Clearly we cannot use their EL averages as they are wrecked with the heat format used.
-
Sure. Keep their EL averages. And before the first set of gs averages come out next season we replace Newman with Dudek and Ellis with vaculik. That would work! Of course they will have to use converted PL averages. Its the only accurate way of assesing these riders. Their EL averages are wrecked through riding against other edr riders.

Take for example my club Poole. If something along those lines was brought in, it would be a disaster. Poole are an EL club and most, (not all) of the fans want to watch the best speedway this country can offer. They would turn up for the EL meetings, but I would suggest the attendances for a lower quality PL fixture would be dire. Matt Ford tried to run a NL team but not enough fans came through the gate to support it. Same would happen here. As for a 7 home 7 away season, well how the hell are a promotion meant to make money on 7 fixtures plus the chance of a couple of extra playoff mettings? And as for the often touted but ridiculous suggestions of a north and south league, we ain't the USA or Australia. We are a small country where you can drive to Glasgow and back from Poole in a day if you wished. We need more EL meetings, not less. Increase the top flight to 12 teams, play each other home and away twice and we have a decent league. And don't even consider 6 man teams. Introduce squads for teams that want to go down that route. Riders would have to be graded as averages will fluctuate. Might not be two months but 7 meetings is less than two months WORTH of meetings.

World's Most Popular Speedway Teams
Steve Shovlar replied to arnieg's topic in International World of Speedway
Well I for one don't use facebook and as for Poland a younger demographic watches the sport there so more than likely uses facebook. Not an accurate way of judging to be honest. -
Jack Holders average is 7.16 in the PL, so his EL average is 3.57 if the conversion is 50%. With Ellis not having a PL average, he should come in on a starting 3.00, so will be at reserve with Newman with Jack Holder starting at a second string.
