  1. Means an even later night with an 8 pm start for Poole fans making the long trip up. Would it be r/r or guest for Starke?
  2. Source? Or have you been on it? He will be neither. Edr averages will be converted to a formula, probably yet to be decided. Just goes to show how well he is doing compared to most edr's.
  3. Next Saturday Poole head off to Leicester in search of four more points to keep the pressure in Belle Vue for battle for top spot. Leicester has never been a good hunting ground for Poole. We drew there last year and drew again in the A fixture. A team of racers is not required around here so the boys better have their gating boots on. In the A fixture Klindt and Wozniak were excellent and Poole managed to salvage a draw with a 5-1 in heat fifteen through Hans and Noddy. We need to do a lot better this time around. Not sure of riding order. Is Bjarne back up in the team? We have to go for all four points and I think we can get them. Thoughts?
  4. You joking, right? He obviously knew and thought stuff Wolves I am not bothering if I am being sacked. He was excellent in the SEC a couple of nights before. Clearly he knew.
  5. At last we are seeing things happening after years of very little. There have been some major flaws with the edr system this year in particular, but it has now proved to have worked with British riders benefitting from the experience. Of course this year there has been flaws but the riders have had the opportunity to race against more experienced riders and some have really blossomed, none more so than Adam. He is beating top riders on a regular basis, not just fluke one offs. Andreas on his home track, Harris on Wednesday, King, and young starlet Lambert on his own patch in a great race on Thursday. This has been a fantastic break through year and I feel sure he will go on to represent his country in the swc next season. Neil Vatcher has worked tirelessly behind the scenes with virtually no money to nurture other youngsters and this is the first time in years where we can say things are starting to happen. Always hard for the youngsters to get sponsorship and for some unfathomable reason a lot goes to the foriegn lads. Perhaps sponsors find it more "cool". Perhaps now is the time for Adam to tout himself around the Polish second league to see if he can land himself some practice sessions and potential team berth for 2017. Being proactive rather than waiting in the hope of a phone call from a prospective promoter can't be wrong.
  6. How can you tell how many seats have sold on the booking system? As for flying up, the numbers just don't add up. So we are driving up, then calling in at Monmore on the way back for the double header.
  7. On the 29th August, at an unfair time of noon, Belle Vue take on Poole. You can be sure there will be a decent amount of Poole fans coming up for this. We have to leave ar around a ludicrous 6 am to get there on time, but I know of at least 20 making the trip up north. This meeting might not be anything more than a "cup qualifier", but it will probably have enormous importance on this years title. I would not be suprised to see a delayed start, full grandstand and three quarters full stadium. Glad I have my ticket already, so no queues other than entry to the stadium.
  8. Its called supporting my club. Supporting them home and away. Not whining on here about not turning up because we are (Lynn) going to get beat at home to Poole. Belle Vue are still favourites to finish top. But we can get something out of our next two away meetings to bring it all down to the 29th August. Perhaps Belle Vue can use a bit of promotional savvy to pack the place out.
  9. Could be Lakeside but doubt he will go back there. Matt needs to cough up the dosh if this is the case.
  10. Holder is certainly more reliable. Not a better rider nowdays after what has happened to him but I doubt you would find many Poole fans who would swap the two. I have sai all along its just my opinion. No one has to like what I think. Its a debate forum isn't it?
  11. Can't believe bbc viewing figures a high. Watching some of it anchored by that truly dreadful Balding woman is enough to reach for the remote.
  12. We have Holder who is just as good if not better than Woffinden in the EL. He also supports the EL by riding in it every season. Woffinden clearly uses it for convenience, so no I would not like a half hearted Woffinden riding for Poole. Chances are he will not ride in 2017 until his Polish and Swedish teams have failed. KK is not a GP rider, so an 8 average does not apply. I would say Lindback, who is a GP rider, should have his average raised to 8 if he returned to the EL. If a GP rider rides in the EL every year, he should retain his EL average. If he decides to withdraw half way through a season, or comes in late like Woffinden, they should automatically receive an 8 average if they are in the current GP series. Or, if they have an EL average in the last two seasons higher than 8, that average should apply. Makes sense, and the rules would be fair to all clubs. Just my opinion.
  13. Garrity 5.17 Ellis 6.12 However Adam was at reserve for a while. Comparing them in style they are miles apart. Ellis looks like a professional speedway rider while Garrity comes across as the wild man. I do hope both do very well and make it to a great level. The more Brits doing well the better imo.
  14. Yes and in my opinion it should have been applied. Woffinden has not ridden here for nearly 2 seasons so his old EL average should have been made obsolete and the standard 8 point GP rider average applied. To be able to use an average from a while back when he has clearly improved as a rider give Wolverhampton an advantage over other clubs. Perhaps Matt Ford is missing a trick. Find a young Polish rider with star quality, bring him over at the start of the season, get him to get an average of 4, then drop him. Bring him back the next year on the low 4. Job done.
  15. And that's why he has slipped under the radar to many fans. You need to re-assess. Ellis is way way better than Garrity and I can see a big breakthrough season for him next year. Certainly if I was Matt Ford I would have him signed in the 1-5 next year. He can gate and he can race. Had a brilliant battle with Lambert last night and beat him. Of course he is a bit raw but the Lynn fans around me last night thought he was excellent and very impressed. He is beating top riders all the time. Head and shoulders above the riders you have grouped him with. Be interesting to see how he goes at Swindon a week Monday.
  16. Todays Echo. Official Poole opinion into Woffinden being signed. 'Ford added: “There are changes being made in British speedway now and, clearly, Tai Woffinden going to Wolverhampton is going to make them stronger. It is a very good move from them and one which is going to put them in the mix and give them a tremendous boost. “We also feel as if we are hitting form when it matters and the team seems to be gelling. Bjarne is making a difference to us. “The task is made more difficult and Belle Vue are riding incredibly well. I still think they, potentially, have the capabilities to come top with ourselves and Wolverhampton battling it out for second. “But who knows? We have yet to go to Belle Vue and it’s the type of track that all our guys should like. Chris Holder and Brady both rode it in the World Cup and both had success there so we know those guys have got it and there is no reason why the others can’t get going just as well.”
  17. Alternatively, employ good mechanics who do have the experience to make the correct changes during a meeting. If Lambert had the ability to get out the starts quickly he would be up there challenging the very top boys. Has he been picked up by a Polish club yet?
  18. Well as I said earlier Kings Lynn is the furthest EL track from Poole and it feels it! The trip to Manchester is quicker. Having said that I left Kings Lynn at 9.50 pm and walked in the door at 1.20 am so 3.30 mins wasn't too bad. Roads were clear all the way. I thought the crowd last night was pretty good, considering many on here were saying they were not going. They were very quiet though as they had nothing to cheer. The 8-1 was met with a little cheer but that was it. Not suprising I suppose as Poole were completely dominant. Middlo got caught in traffic and only got there a minute before heat one. The body language between the sides was obvious. Poole looked like defending champions as they chased every point. Very little in the way of passing though. For Poole. Holder rode well for little reward. Discovered the inside line wasn't the fastest way around. Ellis just goes from strength to strength. I would stake my house on him being a top British rider for years to come. Improving all the time. His battle with Lambert was brilliant and there was no way he was going to lose that. Made a cockup of bend three in one heat when on a 5-1 to allow Rose through. Nearly got him back. Buckowski started slowly but was flying in his last two rides. Kurtz rode well in his first but like Holder found the inside was the place not to be. Andersen had one of his best meetings this year. Chose the inside in his first and found both Lynn riders going around him. But it was called back when Buckowski was clipped and fell. In the rerun drove out into mid track to block both Lynn riders passing around him. Had a great battle with Lambert in heat 15. Bjarne probably scored his easiest 12 point max for ages. Got the nominanted but missed it. But he had done his job by then. Newman solid as usual. For Kings Lynn. Batchelor was good announced as rider of the night. They don't do away riders here. Schlein was better at Poole than last night. Poor for a heat leader. Basically outgunned. Poor Morley was canon fodder. Hope he was paid a wage was never going to score. For Lambert read Harris. He is so similar it is frightening. A crap gater and a racer, just like a young Harris. Exciting to watch, but if he doesn't improve his starts he will end up having a similar career. In comparison Ellis is a better gater. Be interesting to see who has the better career in the sport. With all the fuss about Lambert young Ellis's rise has somewhat passed under the radar. Don't think there's much between them to be honest. Lambert and Ellis are certainly the future for team GB. Jakobsen was poor. Scored a couple at the end when the result was known. Rose battled all night and was decent value. So Poole close the gap on Belle Vue to just 5 points. Leicester away up next, next Saturday. 4 points again a must. A much tougher challenge than last night but if the team rides just as hard it can be done.
  19. Poole have three meetings on Belle Vue. They are 5 points behind. Belle Vue have to visit Poole once. Poole are yet to visit Belle Vue this season. Poole have one visit to Monmore, one to Leicester, one to Swindon, and one to Kings Lynn. We have to target wins at Leicester next Saturday, Swindon on the following Monday, and Belle Vue on the 29th. If we win those and beat Belle Vue at home we can finish top. Not easy but possible.
  20. Against all the odds poole pick up 4 points against a tough Kings Lynn outfit. Seriously, only five points behind favourites Belle Vue with three meetings in hand. Next stop away to Leicester.
  21. Havent seen them. Just spoke to Hans. Neither of them here yet!!!
