That would never happen in the sec. The event is only there for Emil to win.

Tonight yes but home and away? Why are Coventry riding at home without their number one? Surely they would change the date? -

Can people post the poll on their twitter or facebook page to get a bigger amount of voters. Just go through results and ther's a twitter and facebook link. Ta! -
That's not true I think he is an exciting rider but the gap had closed by the rider in blue. Emil went for a closing gap, hit him and knocked him off. just a racing accident but I thought Emil caused the stoppage by causing rider in blue to fall. He could have throttled back an waited. He had the speed. No big deal other than to the fallen rider who was ok.

An enjoyable meeting if utterly and completely meaningless. So many top europeans not involved. Still, its a couple of hours of speedway on tv so better than nothing. But considering the World Champ is a European and not involved doesn't it make this farcical?

Am i wrong here but Emil went for a gap that had closed and should have gone?

What a race by Andersen. Wish he could do that for Poole! Father time has caught up with him sorry to say. A spoiler at best nowdays.

A meeting like that in the UK would attract a very decent crowd. -

With the season two thirds done, it would be interesting to see who people think will win the Elite League this season. I am not talking about who you WANT to win the league to avoid the ABP mob, but who you think will win it. The likely playoff teams. Belle Vue. Leading the way at the top of the league. Been good on their travels but not so convincing at home. A good lineup and always have a decent reserve. Wolves. Very good year for Wolverhampton compared to recent seasons. Lindgren back to his best and PK rolling back the years. Huge home track advantage. Poole. Dominated the sport for the last decade. Solid team not quite kicking into gear so far. Always have two good reserves. Swindon. Doyle has been excellent but they perhaps lack strength in depth? Need the whole team to click. Or Lakeside. Decent home advantage. Again need all to ride well and not good travellers. Easy to say Anyone But Poole but who do you THINK will win the title in the playoffs? Poll here. http://goo.gl/VQlBYH

Lakeside-v- Belle Vue 5 Th August.
Steve Shovlar replied to E I Addio's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
But it is about finishing top and only Poole can catch Belle Vue. Thought Belle Vue would walk this even without Zagar considering Lakeside were without Kennett, who is always good for double figures. They woke up for the last two heats but that was after the horse had bolted. Can't understand Belle Vue fans happy with a losers point. If Poole had done this I would be gutted and angry! Poole don't do anxiety. We have been there so many times and won so many titles in recent seasons. We can't win it every year that would be ridiculous but there's nothing to say about not winning it this year. With Poole riding at Belle Vue probably three times in September, we will certainly be dialled in to the quickest way around. And with a Poole team full of racers Belle Vue are not the threat. Wolves with their trick track are a far more formidable opponent with their home track advantage. They could smash anyone around Monmore. -

....and make the bookies happy. -
Had a collection on Wednesday at Poole and no rider hit the main stand.

Just printed off my tickets for the 29th August. Row H section C. Seems below that is sold out. Don't like the £1 booking fee though.

Belle Vue V Poole Elite League B date finally announced. Monday 12th September at 7.30. That means we are there the 29th August, 12th September and hopefully near the end of September for the playoff Final. Plenty of practice before the important one. Foolish of Belle Vue to give us our two league meetings just before the playoffs.

What Changes Have To Be Made In 2017?
Steve Shovlar replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
One of the biggest problems speedway has, is promoters who frankly don't have a clue how to promote. For an example, Belle Vue. And this is no dig at them, just the way I see it. But I will use BV as they have a nice shiny new stadium. How many people live in the Greater Manchester area? 2.55 million people. And Belle Vue's average attendance is say 1500. What the hell is going on? A fraction of one percent. Whilst the BV promotion have done brilliantly to get themselves a brand new stadium, where are the fans? Why isn't it a sellout every week? How are the promotion promoting? I drove around Manchester last weekend and didn't see a single poster or anything to say there was speedway at a new stadium every week. Like many other speedway promotions, their idea of promoting is to open the gates on race day. In todays media savvy world this is not good enough. Even Matt Ford lags behind with the online shop only coming online this year. Poole couldn't sell Darcy Ward merchandise because of this. The problem is speedway promotions don't employ staff who can sit on the phone all day and promote, sell advertising, send out brochures to local companies, visit schools with complimentary tickets and show off a bike etc. The opportunities are endless but which promotions actually do this? It might mean handing iut hundreds of comps but so what? A few could be turned into regulars, who in turn bring along a friend. Swathes of empty seats on an opening season is not good to see. When the circus hit an area, they have people go ahead to that town and nearly every shop has a curcus poster up and two free tickets for doing so. The circus gets all the advertising for nothing other than the cost of the poster. Its not so much the rules that drive people away, its the lack of investment, over decades, that has failed to address bringing younger fans into the sport. A whole generation is missing, hence we look around us and see an aging fan base more suited to crown green bowls than a high adrenalin sport that is speedway. Sure the rules need sorting with edr issues. Sure the guest rule and missing riders need looking into. But fundementally its a great sport left behind in the mainstream simply due to lack of investment on the promotional front. -
Wolves certain but Poole only likely? Poole are only two points behind Wolves with 4 meetings in hand. Poole can finish top. Three points at home to belle Vue and a win in Manchester will almost be enough, unless Belle Vue win at Lakeside on Friday. Then, Poole will have to win at Kings Lynn and Leicester. Too close to call who will finish top. Either Poole or Belle Vue.

Lakeside-v- Belle Vue 5 Th August.
Steve Shovlar replied to E I Addio's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
When a team is chasing Belle Vue for top spot like Poole are at this time, it always seems lady luck comes along and makes things easier for the opposition. Where is Kennett? PL meeting? Belle Vue should walk this.
