  1. With the SWC following Cardiff by a short period of time, wouldn't it be great if the SWC final was held at Cardiff the day after the GP? What A Weekend! The track would be in place, the fans would already be in town and could be treated to two fantastic meetings in the space of 24 hours. BSI would save a fortune in stadium hire, and the attendance for the SWC would be three times the size of Belle Vue. Plus It has a roof so no rain off. The race off could take place a week earlier at another track, therefore not giving any advantage to the team making the final. With the SWC rotating between GB, Poland, Sweden and Denmark this could only happen every four years but surely it could work and be a massive success. Thoughts?
  2. I phoned the stadium on Thursday and got a cark park space at £10 for two days at the school. Wherever that is. Very close by of course but there were still spaces available.
  3. With 66 tickets left its a sell out. You would get a lot more than that turning up in the hope of getting in on the night. But surely there's a lot more Friday only tickets available as some fans will only come for the Final?
  4. That is fantastic news. There are going to be a lot of people who will turn up on the day thinking they can just pay and walk in, such is the mentality of the average speedway fan and the fact that they are not used to buying tickets in advance. The touts will be out in force!
  5. i don't think you are in the minority at all. Quite a few on here now agreeing it was the correct call. Think the ref was spot on. Not only did Zmarzlik elbow but he was turning right on Iversen at the same time. He was the primary cause of the stoppage.
  6. I said I think He will never be world champion. Of course he is a good rider and the opposition tonight was certainly not GP standard. A top 8 GP rider, but not WC.
  7. I could see exactly where she was coming from. Unlike league meetings where it would have been all four back, fim referees look for a reason for the stoppage and if they decided a rider caused the stoppage he is out. Zmarzlik was not subtle. He turned right and thrust out an elbow. Even smashy and nicey on tv were wondering along those lines before the light came on. I thought the ref was brave to exclude Zmarzlik but it wasn't a wrong call or bad call. Just her interpretation of what she saw. Poland were never going to lose tonight regardless of this talking point.
  8. So someone with a different opinion on here is now a fool?
  9. That would have been the usual call but it looked to me that there was intent there from Zmarzlik. No harm done though.
  10. Disagree. Thought the ref was excellent. Zmarzlik turned right then gave Iversen and big elbow, causing Iversen to crash. Zmarzlik cause of the race stoppage. A brave call but the correct one. Certainly a talking point.
  11. Ref was excellent there. Clear the cause of the stoppage was zmarzlik. He knew what he was doing and Iversen was sent sprawling. Poland will still go through. Edit. And they just have. Quite enjoyable meeting in the end.
  12. Well Emil did sweet fa in his second. Poland through, Denmark second, Russia third. Track is slick and not enough lines to pass at the mo.
  13. Ellis was riding with a broken collarbone in the World u21's at Lynn. Bates had home track advantage at Sheffield and only won, fairly it must be said, because Ellis had gated and was blocking the outside run of Lambert alowing Bates to go up the inside. Doubt there would be a late change of mind. That would make Rosco look weak and indecisive. As has been said, Ellis broke his collarbone a couple of weeks before Lynn and really should not have ridden. So if they are not allowed to practice in the seven days leading up to the event, what is the point of having a nss which is not being used? The squad should have been up there doing hundreds of laps by now. As has been said, Ellis was carrying a broken collar bone. Ellis saw off Bates at Brandon last week and beat him easily on Wednesday. Ellis the right man if called upon. Think that's a given but as long as we are not tailed off last we can't expect more. Come on Team GB we can do what the Danes did a few years ago...........
  14. I don't think there's any doubt, though I would love to be proved wrong. Will we then get page upon page demanding Rosco's head like the wolf pack went after Middlo?
  15. Kennett is showing far better form than Cook but I guess Cook has done many more laps around this track. Lets just hope its not humiliating and hope we don't finish well adrift in 4th. I will be there cheering on GB regardless of the result. Thought the idea was to pick the best, and Ellis is head and shoulders better than Bates. One could also make the argument that S Worrall could have been picked above Cook, who has been pretty poor this year.
  16. Missed Garrity? What has he done other than cause the Coventry team to be completely unbalanced?
  17. Unbelievable. Havelock gave four rides to Bates AND Sargeant. Woryna should have had two more rides. Bet all those Belle Vue fans are laughing all the way home. Lol. Havvy should be sacked for complete ineptitude.
  18. But how can you say there was a shortfall in the team build and blame Woryna? Whi not say they had 2.5 more points to play with so why sign Garrity when they could have signed a much higher rider? Anyway I believe the point I made earlier today about Woryna was totally correct as he is banging in a big score.
  19. So you think Gavan was ok posting that disgusting comment? It was the worst type of bullying and undefendable. He should have been banned for good.
  20. Absolutely they are and I have no problem with anyones view that's different to mine. But there's no need for abusive posts. I read some of the crap on the woofy thread and it was a bad case of bullying and in the end Gavan was rightly suspended. Certainly Robert72 doesn't know how to leave it but attacking posters in such a way is unacceptable.
  21. The sec is a meaningless set of meetings set up to de-stable the GP series. It is meaningless as the very top riders do not participate. Good for TV but unimportant. You and others on here seem to think I don't think Sufadinov is very good. But I have already said if he was back in the GP series he could finish top eight, which means he is very good indeed. If he had remained in the GP series and learnt I would say he could have been challenging, but sorry not now. Time has moved on and he has wasted his career winning meaningless sec events as Woffinden and Hancock have cleaned up where it matters. Just my opinion and not everyones I know. Guess we will find out in the next few years if Emil makes an effort to do the qualifiers.
  22. I see this disgusting obnoxious troll has been allowed back to play after serving a ban for a foul and abusive bullying attack on another forum member. He should have been banned permanently for such disgraceful abuse. Put money on it Woryna has a bigger career of the two. Just seems to have far more track craft. You forget its his first year and he hasn't seen these tracks before. Bates knows all the tracks. He has ridden Poole on numerous occassions. If he gates he can be quick. A bit like Daniel Davidsson. But clueless from the back. Agree with that. Garrity is the reason why Coventry gave failed so miserably. He bullied Horton into giving him a top five berth. Madness. you answered your own question. Woryna us doing well in Poland as he knows the tracks. The same as Bates here. Take Bates out to Poland and listen to the Poles screaming about this "useless Brit". Its exactly the same. Woryna doesn't know the tracks yet. He was giving his all chasing the Poole riders attempting some Kamakazi dives to no avail, while Bates and Barker were tailed off poodling.
  23. Well if the riders know, then so should we. Come on Rosco lets know the team.
