Sheffield Vs Berwick Pl 11-9-2014
SCB replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Looks like that apology I made to those who said Nico would be a decent rider was a bit premature. A 4.24 average so far and I was laughed for saying he'd do well to get 6 -
Ok, lets assume I've been mislead by the poor PR form the campaign - again, I've said for a long time it's poor PR. Why go off on "fact finding missions" to GPs if the plan isn't to have GPs? It just misleads people. When is the 2013 and 2015 SWC final going to be run there then? didn't happen, and isn't going to happen. So get as excited as you like, what was promised didn't happen so the "haters" and "cynics" are/were right. What was promised didn't happen. Also, how the hell is a qualifying round a GP event LOL. A GP event is a GP event, you know, one of the rounds. Thats some serious twisting of things.

The front page of http://nationalspeedwaystadium.com/ states, "The forces behind the project are Stadium Owners - BVA, the British Speedway Promoters Association - BSPA, Licence Holders of the Speedway World Cup and Speedway Grand Prix - IMG and Manchester City Council."

No, there play-offs are Sunday and the following week. But they have no plans to use him.
-
Wembley is the National Football Stadium. Maybe the Manchester speedway stadium should be called the National Speedway Centre then? As pointed out, incorrectly named thus causing confusion.
-
While I'm being called a hater and told I don't want it to happen expect me to point out that I said it wouldn't happen and it hasn't. Was told SWC final in 2013 and 2015 and GPs. I see none of them. I didn't happen. Go on, tell me I'm wrong. Because people are already saying I and a number of others don't want it to happen despite none of us saying such a thing and why would we?
-
Good to see the Swedes have some morals
-
He's not even riding for them! Very odd. Signed him but no intention of using him.
-
So why were we told it would host the SWC in 2013 and 2015 and they were looking to have a GP there? It's not us that got it wrong but the clubs statements.
-
I do laugh at being called a hater an then having people like DaC coming on here and mocking. I'm just glad I didn't make plans for the 2013 SWC final at the stadium which DIDNT HAPPEN! So us "haters" and whatever else people want to call us were right. Also, GP's were mentioned 3 years ago. I see thats already being rubbished by the non-haters. So again, we were cycnical and it doesn't look like happening now.

I see Kujawa got a mention as an "over rated Pole". He was never, ever rated by anyone. Even the Poles were shocked when he won the U21 title in '01. Along with Robert Kaspzak (brother of Krys), Christophe Cayre and some other French dude who I can't remember (who weirdly, all rode for the IoW!), Kujawa one of the worst riders I've ever seen live!

Dilger is surely not costing less than Jacobs though?:/

Panthers Vs Glasgow (9/9/13)
SCB replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
And Fox this year. Tabaka is a bit harsh but you forget Helfer! But look at some of the riders Glasgow have had. Campton, O'Malley, Davey, Ringwood, Horwood the one who did about 3 meetings before being bombed out in 2010 and Thomsen. -

My point was that the 7 point average is is given is there to stop him being a reserve. He should not be allowed to drop it reserve as you suggest. The assessed 7 point average is meant to mean only good quality (if we assume 7 is good quality) riders ride over here. Having foreigners come over and allowed to get a 3 point average because they'll become good is a joke. Why not sign a young Brit on a 3 point average? He might become good too. My rant BTW is aimed at a number of clubs, a few of them have done it. Glasgow seem to have a habit of it though -

Carpanese? Just about understand Covatti as he's a local but Carpanese, even if he is local is crap and a waste of space. -

But he's not beating anyone. So he's be a piss poor reserve. Signing crap like Palovara and Konupka on 7's who only get 3s is wrong. It needs to be stopped this winter at the AGM. minimum averages need to be introduced. -
Said it before, I'll say it again. Us fans are slagged of as "keyboard commandos" and all sorts but how often do we say team changes are crap and they turn out to be? God knows why Peterborough made the changes they did.
-
Wouldn't be the first time a club didnt run fixtures. BV failed to run 2 meetings in 2012. It not looking great for them in 2014 either!!
-
Apparently Tai is going to make a decision tomorrow but on Monday he was still in pain. Greg is making a decision today but last week said he needed a miracle. All falling into place for KK?
-
LOL. Thought tbf, even cynical old me expected that once planning permission went in it was a formality. Lets just hope something gets built that is at least half way to being what was described and fitting of the name "National Speedway Stadium".

Most Bizarre Exclusions......
SCB replied to Sings4Speedway's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
How weird! Thats exactly what happened in the heat I was referring to earlier. Rider in red knocks off white, yellow gets excluded. Everyone in uproar, referee excluded riders in white! Yet red caused the accident. It was also at Stoke -
Cradley V Coventry 9/9/14 Nl Koc Semi Final
SCB replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
30 point home win. Stef was Storms best rider in the league and R/R just won't be the same. With Stef and Crang the Storm had a chance of a respectable result. -
If he thinks he's up to it then go for it. If he's fit then he scores, if he's not and he struggles he's no worse than Hall but possibly gets his scar age down a little. Can't lose.
-
Blackbird could rejoin. The rules explicitly state no changes except to bring a once injured rider back. Would be the obvious thing to do if he's fit any time soon.

Sgp Challenge Final Sat 20th Sept
SCB replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
There are two wildcards. The locally picked one and the FIM one. You can see why no rider wants this wildcards if it means no series wildcards!!
