So in Europe they pay 100% of the price and in the UK we pay 100% of the price. Shocking. I don't see what that proves as they have in both cases there merged the supply cost and profit. All we know from that is what each pays in taxes. We have some of the cheapest utility prices in Europe. Fact. We DONT pay 13% I suggest you read it again.
-
How how to you explain this? Out utility prices are some of the cheapest in Europe. Do you know what our biggest problem is? Not utilities, not rail fare, not petrol, not even food. It's housing. Our housing costs are some of the most expensive in the World. Price per square metre of housing per country
-
Im waiting for a daily express headline, "rail fares up. Joy for millions"

Australian riders? I can't think of any Aussies in recent times who have joined a club mid-season.
-
It's nothing to do with the BSPA. Last season the reason Sam Masters missed out is he re-applied for his work permit after the date that he needed to apply and was told he could not appeal it. obviously if he missed the dater it wasn't worth applying again as he would still miss the date.
-
But surely if you missed the deadline and can't appeal it then re-applying means you're going to miss the deadline again... if it was that simple Mason Campton and Sam Masters would not have missed a whole season
-
Wasn't the issue with Campton and Masters last year that they re-applied too late and were told there was no right of appeal? in which case it looks bleak for those in trouble now. The weird rthing is that while a few of us are all for blocking tripe like James Holder (and even Mason Campton last year) riding over here, Jason Doyle is most definitely someone who should be here.
-
John Campbell couldn't do much about Sam Masters last year.
-
I hope the BSPA know what they're doing.

Which if true, and owing to the fact its been said he used to ride in South Africa (is there any speedway there anymore?), why did he change his name? I'm guessing that legally he was allowed in as a South African due to the family links but his average would have been assessed higher as Attila Steffani than it was as Mark Frost.
-
He should be made BSPA wheelie trainer. As a kid I love Joe, he was my first speedway hero because his wheelies were always the best and as a 5 year old wheelies are all that matter.
-
Heeps come in on a 3 because he never raced in a National championship or a pro-league. Plus he has British ancestry.
-
They didn't amend Jarek Hampel average when he signd for Ipswich about 4 years ago, the arguement was that the riders parent club has to ask for the re-assessment, if they don't then they don't get it. Obviously the IoW didnt ask about him being re-assessed,

£2? About £3 these days. If people want something to read buy the Speedway Star
-
Said exactly the same thing to my dad earlier. It's brilliant. I also love that he's riding better than ever now so would do a good job for someone. Has he ever averaged 2 before in the PL? Meaning better than ever may mean he finally hits 3. Not bad after 4 seasons over here!
-
4 foot? How wide do you think an air fence is? They're about a foot wide, maybe a little more. And riders can bounce of them. Won't make a blind bit of difference at Sheffield.
-
I disagree, the NL is for the like of James IMO. He's had a confidence issue, the NL can help fix that and hopefully get him back to just enjoying his speedway with no pressures. Buxton is the right place too, he is a Buxton rider, he started there and I believe only ever rode for Buxton at CL/NL level. He could probably pass on some great advise to the kids too.

James Wright - Have We Seen The Last Of Him?
SCB replied to skoobie's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I have a lot of DVDs in his 2nd season at Workington. He could gate to save his life, he'd make 5 or 6 passes a meeting, the crowd would groan when he gated. Where did it go wrong? Was it the fact he ended up riding at BV and it sucked the life out of him? I remember when u used to bang on about him on the newport forum in his NL/CL days. Jamie Roberson was another I rated highly, not as highly as James but he never made it either. -
What stature? What sport has he made more popular? What's his record?
-
About 30 minutes before :/ if you say it's not hiding anywhere that's fine, I've worked in IT long enough to know it could be anywhere!
-
I did wonder that but he wasn't that good so it was one hell of a risk for a poor rider to outright lie about who he was! I'm only amazed as thy seem to have got away with it that Matt Ford hasn't signed some rider nobody hes heard of from South Africa recently
-
Does anyone know why Atilla Stefani (Hungary) rode over here as Mark Frost (south Africa) for Oxford in '96? I've seen it mentioned a few times now and have never seen a reason why (or been able to work one out). Anyone? Also, I've posted this once before, it's been deleted. I thought I might have gone mad and not posted it but when I typed the title into the box up the top it showed up. any reason why it was removed?

Congratulations To Jurica Pavlic

The neighbors often used to congratulate me every morning, it makes sense now I think about it! -
Tbh, just Howe on that average makes Scunthorpe look good IMO. Auty is capable of a point more too. Any improvement from Douglas should see them doing well in addition to the other two.
