Redcar Half Team V Glasgow Strong Team

You can never be totally sure looking at still images but I'm amazed Garcia was considered to be at fault for that one -
Chris Holder Average Farce At Kings Lynn
SCB replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
This is where real rolling averages work well. But the BSPA have messed it up with stupid formats and using PL averages. I had already come up with weighted averages using EL figures for all riders and cooks have easily extended it to mean that they could have had weighted rolling averages by the BSPA preferred this 12+ average riders and PL averages and no rolling. People are capable of making this work in all manor of ways. The BSPA just love to do things their own utterly stupid way -
Chris Holder Average Farce At Kings Lynn
SCB replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So averages of averages. Every time someone mentions grading a small part of me dies. If grade A is riders with a 9+ average and grade B is riders averages 7.00-8.99 then a rider average 8.99 is going to be in demand while a rider who got 9.00 (so nothing between them) is going to be a poor signing. Right now if a team has 6 riders but has 4.00 points to play with they sign a 4.00 riders. You're suggesting that instead they would have 6 riders, and room for a grade D but if grade D is 4.00 or less then its no different. Where your idea is rubbish, at the moment if you have room for 2 riders, you have 12 points, it means you can bring in a 10 and a 2, a 9 and a 3, an 8 and a 4, a 7 and a 5 or two 6s. With your suggestion, you HAVE to being in an A and a D. You lose flexibility. Grading is a stupid idea. They are all the bad parts of averages and none of the good parts. -
If you fancy squeezing in an extra 2017 Bee, James Sarjeant would now fit for Danny Ayres

What idea by the BSPA? They've done nothing wrong here.

Workington V Ipswich 7:30pm 27th May 2017 Champ.
SCB replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sedgmen is nothing special. Had a half decent year for Edinburgh riding at number 2 and that's it. Never seen the fuss personally. -
Well I rushed home and got in at 6pm, wish I hadn't bothered. About 2 or 3 good heats.
-
Freddie's bike probably is the same as everyone else's. The difference is the engine (all of them) were made to suit Freddie. I imagine if any top riders swapped bikes it would work for them.

Think thats what orion would call, "a whoosh"

I don't think it's Ben doesn't like Aussies (on track I don't think Ben likes anyone!) it's that Aussies don't like Ben as he wouldn't give evidence for a couple of them in court a few years back.

Do Riders 'manipulate' Their Averages To Get A Ride?
SCB replied to Gresham's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes. Next question. -
Rob Branford had a good spell last year. Some Rye fans spent all winter making out he was a lot more than he is. He's a decent enough 4ish point man who will have decent meetings now and again.
-
I'm not convinced by all this talk of it being hard for Ellis to achieve his average. He was about the same level as Worrall(x2), Sedgmen, Kurtz, Garrity, Howarth and Wright and they're all doing well enough. He might have dropped a little (like most will) but he's clearly just having a terrible season - it happens sometimes.

Edinburgh V Newcastle Ch 19/5/17 @ 7.30 Pm
SCB replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well that was crap. Swindon sign BWD very late on as a replacement but still got priority over Peterborough for his services. Why would Newcastle have some special case over Worrall/BV? -
Danny King has always gone through good spells and bad spells. You just need to hopwnthe good spells last as long as possible.

Is There A Need For Guest Riders?
SCB replied to steve roberts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Why can't unattached riders guest? Less farcical that your local rivals number 1 riding for you one week and against you the next! -
Nothing in the rules about conversions or keeping last seasons average. Tungate would be 5.09
-
Was a Coventry vs Wolves fixture on Sky in 2012. Finished about 62-28 to Wolves. Tai and Freddie score maximums, Ludvig and Proctor dropped a point each to a Bees rider. I had nightmares about it for months.
-
I remember a full max, paid max and two riders dropping just a point each. Sadly :/ The team that day contained 3 of the original 2017 Wolves too!
-
It's in Richards interests to ride. He'll get a new, lower average OR he'll have a great meeting meaning someone else will want to sign him. As for this change, just makes sense and IMO makes Redcar one of the teams who can now win the title, mind you, this season theres a few teams fighting for it.
-
Why? Riss won it, the TR got 3 extra points. It worked perfectly.
-
Looking at it, those changes could have been made before Somerset got new averages this week. Tungate could be slotted back in for Kerr then this week with his new average as a like-for-like.
-
Tungate 5.09 and Heeps 5.07. Not a lot in it but maybe it was the amount they needed to make it happen.
