So did we. So we have 2! No idea where they got my friends address from, he has been to Cardiff twice before but buys his ticket on the day

My neighbours (and us) received a leaflet in the psot today aout the the GP. A5 sized, shiney paper, nice pictures, few quick fact (80mph?!) Very impressive, seems speedway has finally managed to promote its self properly, had I not been a speedway fan, I'd now know there was a GP in Cardiff on June 3rd and how much it costs. Well Done BSI! (that said, I don't aprove of junk mail )

Seems I'm going to Prague! (possibly one of the Polish GPs too)

Hans Andersen Statement
SCB replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm not kicking him while he's down. I don't liek him but I really don't think anyone could do any more than BSI have done. just pointing out, changin nationality would be a bit extreme and I can't see how it would work, he'll still be Hans Andersen and he'll still be Danish in all but name. -
Hans Andersen Statement
SCB replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why? If Hans becomes British, will you support him more than you do now? Or not dislike him as much? Will British companies fall for his fake nationallity? He has said he is changin Nationalities soley to ride in a GP, well thats not good enough for me. Id not want him riding for Team GB if he's only done it to get into the GP's and TBH, I'd not want him (or anyone else) to ride for GB even if they were doing it as they felt they were more British than thier original nationality. I can't see how changing nationality will get you into a GP. -
Well Done Niels K Ive(r)sen

Yeah, Nicki Pedersen was bumming around at the back in 2003 -

Does the rider ride for Poole? Is he a Poole asset? Has he rode for Poole at some point? That seems to be the best way. -
Gb Get Speedway Wc Final 2006!
SCB replied to Brightonbob's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Exactly, it's obvious really. Wales is the Mecca of World Speedway, we have the best GP, so it's only fair to show we can host the best SWC. So Newport it is -
Hans Andersen Statement
SCB replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Exactly what I thought too. I really do feel sorry for Hans, he has been kicked where it hurts (every bloke knows) but I think he has just stood with his leg apart allowing BSI to aim for 2006 with this statement. I just hope he has not. Whatever I think of him, I do think he is a GP rider, he deserves to be in the GPs. -
Puk will finish in the top 10.
-
The same Iversen who has a higher EL averge than Bjerre? Iversen is a better rider than Bjerre, he is more exciting too, I have never understood why so many rate Kenneth ahead of Puk! Prehaps it's because Kenneth burst onto the scence where as Puk has made solid, continual progress. Kenneth stagnated this season, Puk continued to improve. Just where exactly has Bjerre out performed Iversen? Not the British EL, not in Sweden either, the Danish Championship or the Danish League. He has a better GP record too. Steve Shovlars post made quite a bit of sense, shame he had to mention Lindgren, he is a year or two away from the GP series yet.
-
Whats Zagar done to merit his position? Rode in 2 GP's and done ok? Well ditto to Puk, maybe not as well as Zagar but he has certainly done ok in his few GP's. At leats Puk has the balls to rey the EL and not hang around. You'll reply that Zagar has time on his side and didn't need to move up (and I'd agree) but that also means he does not need to be in the GP's yet. If it was all about future success we should have Morton Risager and Lewis Bridger in the GP's next year! If I'm totally honest, even as a fan of Puks, I find it amazing he is in the GP's, same can be said of Zagar too, he has done NOTHING to justify his place expect one exceptional GP in his home land on his home track! I'm no Hans Andersen fan, infact, I don't like him at all but he is without a doubt a GP rider and should be there and if I was him, I'd be absolutly gutted tonight and I really do feel sorry for him tonight. Flyin Ryan, I'm sure he will be towards the bottom more than the top, but then someone has to be don't they? He might be 16th in the GP series this season but that might be because he is the 16th best rider in thw World, so surely deserve to be there (tho even I agree it's pushing it to say he is a GP standard rider just yet). Mind you, apart from swapping Pepe for Hans, I think I did well to predict the GP line up for 2006
-
I'm pleased for Puk. After the Brits, I'll be cheering him on at each GP. I'd be quite happy if he got 3rd in every GP
-
Flippen heck, that is intresting! Never going to happen though, unles they bring in a rule that says any rule can be over turned on the toss of a coin! British Speedways achillies heel is that the rules are ignored so often, people moan about it but when it happens they stick up for it!
-
I thought he was 17th on 7.99, 16th if you don't include Billy Hamill who does not want to ride in the GP's, 15th if you also remove the injured Michael Max.
-
Subedei, You say Lee Richardson (and Scotty) do not deserve a place as they did not qualify in the top 8, fair enough but by your reconing only 8 riders dserve to be in the GP's next season, correct? Only one person has named names so far, personally, I think3 or 4 of them names are at best an equal to Lee. If we want to say Lee has failed to qualify, so has PK, about 3 times too and one some of them times where when there was 22 places available. That said, I would currently consider him worthy of a place, ahead of Lee infact.
-
Right then. Can the moany <beep>s name me 7 riders who are better than him that did NOt finish in the top 8 of the GP series? IF they can name me 7 rider who ARE better than him (other than the top 8 GP riders), then we might be able to continue with the "Lee Richardson does not deserve a Gp place" bitching. This should be intresting as I don't think there are 7 riders who are better than him but, I'll give people a chance.

Date Of Cardiff Gp 2006
SCB replied to sirmatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well, actually, the year Nicki Pedersen won (2003?), I was on the bottom tier, 2nd bend, so erm, yes you can (or at least could ) Plus you could always buy whatever tickets you can find and then sit anywhere at the back, I have done the last 2 years, just meet up with others and sit in (or stand in front of) any unoccupied seats -

We turn up on the day and buy tickets. I will NOT sell out. There are no bad seats, thought some obviously don't give you the greatest perspective of the start/finish line but even if you tunr up on the day and buy tickets, I bet you can still get tickets for inline with the start line if you want them! -

That depends on the uni, Coventry uni's exams are the last 3 weeks of May. I'm almost certain GCSE's have clashed in the past, I swear I had my Welsh GCSe on the Friday in 2001 and a Maths exam on the Monday, so there are always going to be clashes any time from May to July. -
British Speedway Grand Prix
SCB replied to Waspie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nah, it's totaly fair, I've been told on another thread I agree with you, it's nothing short of a con. -

Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
SCB replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Commercial reasons. They also want 3 Poles for commercial reasons! -
Scott Nicholls, Lee Richardson, Jarek Hampel and Antonio Lindback. 3 more to be confirmed.

Erm, YES! It was in the Millenium Stadium! You also got pre-stage ralling, precision driving by 3 Ford Focus' a flying car and a guy on a bike. All in all, you got action from 5.30 to well past 9 for £10 and you saw it ALL. No gaps, no bits with nothing to do (go to toilet and you missed something!) and twiddling thumbs. Add to that the magazine style programme and it was easily much better value than any speedway. £10 and you get one adult and two kids tickets as well as a programme along with all the events mentioned above. Can speedway compete with that? I make it about £53 for the adult and 2 kids and a programme, the speedway it's self (which is not as much action time wise) and some old git mimming to one of thier old CD's.
