  1. One of the Welsh Opens at Newport, about 2010. Went on forever, didn't help I was hungover and it's was boiling hot. There was one heat that took an hour a 5 minutes to run with about 6 re-runs!
  2. So, Bjarne up to heat leader, Newman and Ellis in reserve as of next week then. Also interesting to note that Hans going somewhere he is apreciate yah, yah, yah and bollocks etc has only seen him raise his bonus point average by 0.3 or just over 0.4 without bonus points. Can't have been appreciated all that much down at Poole
  3. Emil Sayfutdinov rode 9 meetings in the season you required 8 meetings to be an asset so he's an asset too. Meaning Greg, Emil, AJ, Pawlicki and Harris are all assets. Only likely to see 1 of them riding for the Bees next season though and I would imagine that Horton has been hard at work trying to sell as many of them as possible!
  4. Last year I posted a thread on here about the fans buy a small trophy that they presented to the winners of the "league" got a few responses but only 1 person was actually willing to cough up any cash. Seems that for all the moaning by fans and claiming of "IMO the real champions..." etc that when it comes to it people are happy for the play-offs to be the only trophy awarded. I think some people just need a good excuse to have a moan. All people needed to do was donate £5-10, wouldn't have needed many people to buy a trophy!
  5. Which is what I've called it on twitter when asking the club how we get a facility. No answer, don't expect one either!
  6. I know it's hard having back riders who have performed badly but Bjerre 5.87, Schlein 5.12 and Batch 4.96 are signing that if you can make you just have to. They could ride at 2,4 and 6 when only 2 seasons ago they would have been considered a pretty impressive 1,3 and 5! Throw in Puk and Lambert then take whatever fills the gaps. Kerr 4.76 and Rose 5.00 is the limit is 42. Huckenbeck for Rose if the limit 40.
  7. KK is missing because of a gathering in Poland to celebrate the Poles winning the SWC
  8. There was a meeting between Reading and Kings Lynn in what must have been 2008 where Kozza Smith had about 6 rides and was withdrawn by the doctor against his wishes because he had crashed so many times the doctor deemed him not fit to race. I'm sure he crashed/fell something like 8 times in 6 heats. It resulted in a fight in the pits as Kozza/Kings Lynn didnt think he should be withdrawn.
  9. As Larsen still hadn't been paid from 4 years ago would that be a case of jumping from one non-paying club to another?
  10. Says it all. "Race of the night"* was Iversen diving up the inside of a slow and dull Kildemand. *except it wasn't even Iversens ride of the night
  11. People seem shocked at the news the Aussie Champion has the wildcard. I thought that was always the case?
  12. "Take the post down and I'll give you your money" maybe?
  13. If you assume he GP riders are top 15 in the world, the riders in the GP qualifier would be 16-31, take away the couple of GP riders in the qualifier and 18 year old Robert Lambert is top 30 riders in the world. That a phenomenal achievement. As for improvement, statistically he's had a better season than last year plus he's had to ride as a heat leader and not a second string and has ridden the majority of heat 15s. That's quite a bit of improvement. Not making the GPs at 18 is hardly failure. Give him 3 more seasons and see where he is, by then he should be in the GPs at his current rate of progress.
  14. Matt Ford making up his own rules? If two riders are tied then they go in the order of the last GSAs. So Bjarne has to stay in reserve for now.
  15. Far too soon to be discussing wildcards as right now we have, IMO, Magic, Antonio, Pawlicki, Pedersen, Lindgren and Kildemand all fighting for 3 places. And I'd not put my life on Holder being a cert for top 8 or Puk and AJ making a fist of it for top 8. In short only 5 of the 15 GPs riders statuses can be pretty much guaranteed for 2017. If Lindgen makes top 8 then no way will Pedersen, Iversen and Kildemand all get wildcards. Need another GP or two before we can start working out who is likely. If I was Magic I'd be panicking now, too many Poles for him to be in with a chance of a wildcard so he need to end well. I think Pawlicki has the GPs sussed now and will be ok. Nicki is probably happy-ish. He's going to get a WC and only way that can change is if both Danes over take him and even then I think Nicki will be picked ahead of them
  16. But if we're going down that route and assume the World Final was the precursor to the SGP then a number of second division riders have raced in the World Championship finals
  17. You're going to have to put me out of my misery. I can't think who the other is
  18. Bjerre nearly making history as only the 2nd PL rider to make the GP series. So close! Actually lead the race twice.
