but the article from the local press is just the press release saying speedway is coming, dated 5th march it's now 11th march nearly 1 week later, no more information been released, no Facebook / social media posts made, no pre publicity to promote the venture (as far as I can see). Just seems to be Northampton been announced then radio silence
-
As a lot of promotion done today is via Facebook, just done a search, guess what no Northampton speedway comes up, Northampton shaleway the stock car page does not mention anything. It's now 7 weeks to the 1st meeting at Northampton and no sign of ANY promotion being done. Anyone live near Northampton and have you heard of any promotion?

Hope you've robbed a bank as it's not the cheapest of premier inns

British final 15th August
Neila replied to Neila's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
But I think about 30-40 Comets fans would normally go to the British final, now due to a possible clash of fixtures, British speedway will miss out on the travelling fans Β£25-30 admission money. Riders like say Richard Lawson or Craig Cook may want to go to the British final but at the moment the championship fixture clashes -
Probably the top table in British speedway are in charge, that's why nothing been announced bar a new track.

Got to feel ( a little bit π) for any Poole fans who were planning a mini tour to Edinburgh/ Workington in mid summer, with this new fixture many fans do not know if they can make plans to follow their team oop north -

See you at worky Lisa πππ -
Date announced for British final, good news it's on a Saturday night. Bad news 6 championship teams are riding the same night so either fans won't be able to go, or a mid summer fixture will have to be rearranged π€ . More bad news probably polish meetings so maybe unavailability of several riders π€.

Worky and most clubs had kids for a quid or free in school holidays, now thanks to some sponsors comets are running this all season,

For 2027 still can't see a 1 league structure being viable due to lack of riders and teams wanting different race nites when a lot of riders maybe elsewhere. So a 2 league structure, but the top league should have 2 UK U24 riders at reserve (presuming 7 rider teams) one to be classed at rising star. In the 2nd league again both reserves to be U24 one to be a 2 point rider from the NDL Sort rules and points limit before this season ends and agree in early November, teams could be announced as usual, have fixtures for both leagues out by mid January. Surely this is simple enough to happen !!!

Apparently they are putting a fence around the big grassed area on the RH side before the track. The clowncill have Β£4.5 million to waste to make the land ready for possible future developments. They have already taken down the old oil tanks just after the railway bridge and levelled the land. Hopefully a fence will be put up along the speedway perimeter

Was just about to say similar π

Thanks don't know the layout of the stadium, but it does look like it could be a refs box
-
This has been put up on Northampton shaleway Facebook page, saying new hospitality suite but could be a refs box π€

Lots of ways to get to the UK from Australia, either east or west but may not be as cheap as usual routes via Dubai etc
-
Now we have the 5th team and Easter is only 5 weeks away π§ surely the fixtures should be out this week, fans need to make plans to attend, riders need to make plans regarding travel at home or from away and sort mechanics etc . Can't do these at a drop of a hat
-
Could the said pole have been a resident in the UK for several years, he may also have resendency due to being over here many years. Not sure how this affects the so called rules of speedway. BTW a young kid in the U16 meetings is the son of a pole, but born in the UK
-
More than likely imo as the GP is now going to smaller venues, Ipswich seem to have the infrastructure for a crowd of around 10k joint venture between Mayfield and stadium owners speedworth, probably a lot of money to be made from catering etc, and the track could sort out some of the throttle jockies

Get wot your saying, on one hand BSN are trying to sell a package to watch premiership speedway, but on the other hand them in charge have not decided how many and who are in the premiership π€. You just can't make it up
